Carlton Cole. But seriously: Cole and Vaz Te got us promoted that day. I have infinite respect for that. Cole, in particular, gave everything he had for West Ham. Good example of a true hammer.

Then we gave up a goal the that fast winger, Zaha wasn't it?, who is now in the Premier League. Cole made the second goal with a great, truly great effort to get the ball to VAZ, who literally SMASHED it into the roof of the net. I think Vaz took his shirt off after that and got a yellow card. That's all from memory, so it could be wrong -- is that how you remember it, Nev?

got there equaliser just into the second half and to this day I cannot believe Dobie missed a sitter for them just outside the six yard box because at that level he was one of the best strikers around...

what a great day, many beers with my son, great memories. I was on my knees praying during the added time, the guy beside me said "Mate... you need some therapy!" Hate to say it Blackpool were the better team that day. Feel sorry for their fans and the following years dropping to the bottom league, I wish them well in the play off final!

I do remember our fans spilling over all around the stadium in the middle tier of the away end such was our support but I wasn't mad on Wembley, pubs and all that, preferred Cardiff. Me and my mate actually sat in a nearby supermarket and had a bloody sandwich or whatever before the game as the only pub I remember nearby was full of orange and white. I think West Ham may have been in another place a couple of tube stops away and we couldn't be arsed to try and find them. Great result, I was up in the Gods behind the goal somewhere with a massive flag hanging over the edge of the tier. I want more of these day's out, but not Play-off days out...

I was up during the night to watch on my own which suited me. When we went ahead it felt like we'd put another couple away and make it look like a cake walk back to the Premiership. When they equalised and then started playing better football I was thinking about sitting on the same couch in the same living room in the middle of the night when we lost out to Poo in the FA Cup final. Fortunately it was a great night to stay up. The Daves need to think about how hard it is to get back up and buy well without flinching this summer and every summer.

will they flinch again with Iheanacho and Batsuayi? Personally, it's starting to feel like the same old same old promises. We have signed one "retired" RB on a free so far ... So I can get behind North Bank's call for SUGO not to flinch. I'll keep my eyes open, though.
