Sunday could and most probably be the last time we see our Captain Declan Rice in the claret & blue of West Ham at the London Stadium.
Such a shame. We will be losing the heart of the team. A tremendous player and a wonderful human being. But we can't be bitter. Rice could have left before but he chose to stick with us. Let's hope if he leaves we will have the memory of him lifting the European Conference Cup.
If he does go on to pastures new he surely goes with our blessing. I for one wish you every success in the future and you are deserving of all the medals and riches coming your way. Thank you.
Well said Enfield
Totally agree
Supposed to be a top 6 club
Supposed to be a top 6 club hey,we should be keeping him and building round him,it just proves we havent come forward since the Boleyn, still selling our prized assets, thats not good enough....I wish him all the best, its the club that has let the side down.
Agree also Essex
Like you say mate the team should be built around him!He loves the club & fans especially but he is getting better & better not just as a footballer but as a man as well....he's a rare breed nowadays & whatever his decision he will always be a hammer at heart
Essex, 65...
We just dont have the money to be a serios top 6 club, its just a fact, sorry to say :o(
Enfield
With you on that, goes with my blessing and truly makes my all time West Ham team... forever a legend.
I expect him to start and Moyes to sub him at some point, just wish I was there to give him a standing ovation... it will be VERY emotional :o(
It WAS very emotional waiting
It WAS very emotional waiting at the end of the game for the players lap for the fans, Decs was in tears and you knew it was goodbye!
Depends
Where he goes as to whether he gets my blessing or not. Wants to win trophies? he's on the cusp of one with the club that gave him a chance. I'm old school I'm afraid and believe in loyalty. There's pretty much only one club that can guarantee him trophies and winning them at a club like City is, in my opinion, pretty hollow. And he'll have to go a lot longer way with US before I put him in the same "Legend" status with players like Brooking, Noble, Bonds and Moore et al
Three times Hammer of the
Three times Hammer of the year on the bounce.. legend in my books!
You want loyalty.. get a dog!
Yeah
The competition for HOTY has been pretty fierce these last few seasons hasn't it.
Exactly!
He has been head and shoulders greater than the rest of them some of which get paid more than him!
Hammer of the year
P.S. Only Billy Bonds, Bobby Moore and Trevor Brooking have won it 3 times
Well you're wrong there
Scott Parker unbelievably won it three times, so has Geoff Hurst and Dicksy has won it four times.
Apologies if you are correct,
Apologies if you are correct, I saw it in a recent article, in future I will check
I knew about Parker

Absolutely Dartford ,can you
Absolutely Dartford ,can you imagine the reception he'll get on his return ,there will never be a homecoming like it .
All the best Dec ,hope you find what your lookin for.
I agree Deluded,he has done
I agree Deluded,he has done well for us,but still not quite legend material.
Really Essex?
Legend title comes with time and in time you will look back on this boy and will respect him in the same way as Moore, Hurst, Peters, Brooking, Bonds etc.
Home grown, match winner, without any doubt one of the greatest players we have ever had.
I like the boy Dartford i
I like the boy Dartford i really do,and he is a top player and person, but feel he would need to be with us a bit longer,to be one of the greats.
Fair enough Essex
But Tev for me is also legend and he was with us just 1 season. Also Brian Stag Dear.. played very few games for us, maybe not a legend but what a character:o)
He'll be remembered if he goes,
As another one that got away. Just like Rio, Joe Cole, Defoe, Carrick, Ince and to a lesser degree Fat Frank. And none of them are remembered as legends. The likes of Tevez, DiCanio, Dicks etc. will be remembered in folk lore which is hardly legendary status. Is Vic Watson ever mentioned as a legend?
Maybe not a legend
But the way he's conducted himself in a money driven ,self obsessed society is admirable in my book, good on Nobes for being his mentor I say.
Absolutely 65
And no one will be happier than me if he stays and becomes..... a Legend
vic watson
absolutely! Mentioned by my Dad god rest his soul. Clearly its generational.
Defoe and Ince... shouldnt be mentioned in the same breath as Dec.
.
.
agree 65! WHU treated his Dad
agree 65! WHU treated his Dad and Uncle badly so no wonder he wanted away, I was also baffled by the dogs abuse he got, never worked just made him play better!
.
.
may be he stay
if we put a bid in for the spuds striker Harry Kane !!!!!!but seriously tho i wish him well where ever he goes ,the boys done good, up the hammers
I personally would rather see him go to another European club
like Real or Bayern Munich who are showing interest, the only thing is they don’t spend that much but if we could get a couple of their player like Gravebach plus sixty million I would come over from Australia and drive him over. Don’t want to see him go to le arse or Manu and he will be a bit player at City.
If I were Dec I would be
If I were Dec I would be asking one question of the board. “What’s our philosophy for the near future?” Are we going out to not lose, or will we take the field with the attitude “we can win this one”. If it’s the former then I would say cheers and thanks for the memories, but if there is a positive attitude from management then I would seriously consider staying. I think he should give it ‘til Christmas and asses the situation then, if we are in the top six and battling for honours the choice is easy, on the other hand if we are in a relegation dogfight by new year then the choice is even easier. The club, board and management need to convince him that he is already at a big club, not by their words but by their deeds.
Well said Jozi,hes a nice
Well said Jozi, hes a nice bloke and all that shit, but in reality its taking the piss,we are a big club,we should be top six each year we did it for two,and should be bringing players of the likes of him in,not letting them go,this would show we mean business which will attract the like, sell him and that shows we are a club to be happy pissing about with relegation and making do,makes my blood boil.
nice thought Jozi but...
... i wouldnt believe ANYTHING that would be said by the board!
Especially from that lying
