That was some Christmas Present.

A big away win and yes it was big, 4 goals away from home and while some would argue against a poor side it could have been so different had we conceded first. 2 strikers on target solid defensively (Reid was outstanding) and a good all round performance. Though a little disjointed at times I was pleased that Nordveit had a good game and looked the most comfortable I have seen him in Claret and Blue. After a very good point at Anfield it was important to pick up points against teams below and around us and 3 wins (the two home ones were not pretty) in a row 6 goals for 1 against is a decent return. Grinding out wins (and with a fair slice of luck especially v Hull City) something special was due and was certainly delivered. A good team performance and one that will make us all feel a little easier. Nobes had a solid game again and Cresswell showed how important he is for us on the left. Antonio gets into some good positions and so good to see Carroll and Ayew on the score sheet which will do their confidence a power if good. Payet did what he had to do and though not as electric as last term but still showed flashes of what he is capable of. Reid read every danger and he along with Ogbonna was superb in central defence. Randolph with every game instills confidence in his defence and again was alert and solid in the nets. Kouyate as we expect is always full of running and man for man it was a performance tha will warm the cockles of our hearts. Well done West Ham and yep that was some Chritmas Present.

Yes easy to dismiss because it was against a poor team but we've struggled against the weaklings over the past couple of seasons while turning in good performances against stronger teams. At the end of the day yes, should be easy but they've still got to be put away, they don't put themselves away.

I'm gonna come right out with it as at times he has been criticised. I think Reid has kicked on recently and has at times held our defence together. Now seems to read the game a lot better and an early contender for hammer of the year so far!

Now that's a proper Xmas present. The fact we can even see that goal tells me that was last season, unless of course the zoom lense on those iPhones are fantastic!

That was a well earned welcome victory. Reid, Nordy and Carroll were excellent yesterday. Payet and Antonio had their moments. Still not sure about Ogbonna. One thing that does alarm me is the amount of passes that go astray which then gives momentum to the other side. Better sides than Swansea will exploit this. It is a continuing problem for us but that is the only negative I want to bring to my comments. I don't see why we cannot get at least one point at Leicester on Saturday. COYI.

Excellent? I think you saw a different game. I only watched the Skysports half hour highlights butin that time he consistently made poor passes, the Antonio goal was thanks to his shot being so off target it was heading for the corner flag and again in the last minute made a stupid foul in the box which could have cost us a pen.

Those highlights didn't do Nordtveit justice - Whether it was Routledge or Montero, our player had them in his pocket....Have a look at the point when Montero tried for the byline (just before he ended up in a heap injured), superb defending by Nordtveit to stay with the opposition's player and shepherd him out of play.
Believe you me, I groaned when I heard he was on the team sheet but I'm happy to be proven wrong!

I havnt seen enough of the match to comment on nordtveit, but by all accounts he was pretty solid...
Ive been 1 of his critics but if he turns in regular good performances i too will gladly take a large slice of
that home made Humble Pie...

Absolutely nothing wrong with being positive guys, but for me the team ion the field isn't looking impressive at all so that hasn't changed! Yes we got some good results but burnley and hull were incredibly lucky and won on the back of penalties in both games and Boxing Day we certainly were not 4-1 better. So for me it's given us a bit of space to breathe and that's all. I'm not getting ahead of myself yet the team is playing poorly probably for all the games except maybe 2. We are not out of the woods yet and need a decent full back, a striker that's fits the style Slav wants to play and a high energy cm THIS window. Remember ayew, kouyate, feghouli are all off t Afcon. Slav still needs to get his arse in gear.

Good to be back on the org again. My laptop died last August so I haven't been on since. Been a shakey start to the season but things have turned around. Look forward to contributing again COYI.
