Oliver, in the grey sweatshirt, playing football outside the Boleyn Ground on Monday. I share this picture as I love the fact that he can have a kick about with his mates up against the walls/gates of the ground in the street. This to me is 'old-school' and a nostalgic type picture of what you want kids growing up with football and our club to be all about. It also helps me as I can creep out on the stairs of the upper level of the Supporters Club to check on him every 30 mins :)

Yes, it's definitely old school and nostalgic, but in the best possible way. I'm so glad to see that stuff like that can still happen. To me it's sorta what football is all about. Who among us didn't go out as kids thinking we was our greatest sports heroes scoring the goal that won the FA cup! It's those memories that make us into great supporters (and dads) later in life. My only question for you is why can't something like this still happen around the OS next season? Will the whole place be patrolled so that you aren't allowed a kick-around? Or might there be some grounds where kids can play? HOPE SO!

We are upgrading the server over the new year's break in time for the match against Liverpool, until then no new topics can be posted, but comments can be. Sorry for this but it is required! - Ed

Treasure that photo mate!It could be from any era-just different attire....Brings it home the realisation that we are in our very last season at the boleyn...last game against swansea is going to be an incredible emotional day...wont be able to make it to the ground as we have a big family celebration on holiday in portugal on that day but all my hammers family members will be in a bar watching it,getting drunk & shedding a tear!!A Happy New year to you ANTKB,your ollie & tilly & family....COYI

really a nice picture ANKTB! encloses an entire generation, from the old faithful hammers to new ones. It will be very sad not to see more these images. I wish you all and your families a happy new year full of victories Claret & blue. Cheers

Think I said before antkb we used to have games that lasted 4 hours with just jumpers for goal posts. Nothing better to do in them days. I we were spoilt tho we had the luxury of grass, no matter how big or small.

Burkie 1

Haven't had it confirmed Burkie but did hear that Payet, jelavic, Reid and Moses are all back. Sakho was mentioned as the only one still a long way to go. Cresswell wasn't mentioned, I suppose it's too much to expect he was missing for just the one game?
