so gold&sullivan are at a loss to understand why our squad is underperforming after doing so well last season seeing as we still have all those players with us...well its not difficult to grasp I am afraid....last season we played above all expectations and our dealings in the transfer market were first class with everyone performing brilliantly for the new manager...now forward it 12 months and you have a manager under pressure(seemingly has 2 games to save his job)players complacent and players that were purchased or loaned very sub standard to say the least....in football you cannot stand still what was good for you last year is not a surprise to the opposition the following one and so you have to tweak your tactics.
point one.. the board tried to do transfers on the cheap and got what they paid for which is rubbish...apart from fernandes who has done well and fletcher still yet to be given a proper chance all the others just not up to the job..the money wasted on Ayew was a panic buy because of all the nonsense spewed out everyday by the club about what should be done behind closed doors.
point two..bilic is as much to blame wanting certain players who have proved to be beyond poor we all know who they are!..and his stubbornness to play Antonio in any position other than the one he is best suited to....the inability to find a right back when we have been crying out for one for a long long time his sale of Tomkins was strange as surely a younger fitter man is better long term than ginge who despite last seasons heroics is now in the twilight of his career.
point three...players they claim the move had impact and they are tired and injuries etc but unless you have to fight for your place complacency sets in and so you underperform because there is nobody to challenge you for your position..apart from the gk's very little changes week in week out and that takes you back to point one.
point four ..we the fans promised much but a farce delivered from season ticket fiasco to stewards treating you like crap no wonder there is discontentment in the crowd and the fact that you were told a few tall stories about how close to the pitch you will be with the stands rolling in and out then the stand up sit down argument that still rumbles along...and of course the long walk to the station..
All this and more needs looking at with fresh eyes because this season has been a total cock up from the first day onwards and whilst I believe we will stay up what will the season after hold for us if we don't learn what has been a few very harsh lessons already this season.

This season is turning into a shambles,& lets not forget we are still in a relegation dogfight if we dont get another couple of wins soon!!Palace with allerdicci at the helm will be up for it,so thats not going to be easy...
Also the way the driscoll brothers are dealing in the transfer market at the moment imo we shouldnt expect many additions...so the players weve got need to roll there sleeves up & put in a shift!

See what it is with our board is we go in with embarrassing bids at a million at a time, but by the time they come to a sensible figure, someone else comes in and snaps em up

First visit to new stadium the other night. The corporate monsters have stolen our soul. Outside is just crap. Inside ok but the players had no spark.

We need to rebuild from the back. Sort the bloody defence out and then go forwards. Jan transfer window should be prioritising on that. Get Payet feeding Carroll & Antonio up front and stop passing back to the frigging keeper.

If we can get the defence drilled right then it gives us time to work on the rest. I think we have the players to do the defensive work they just have to be drilled to death and find the best combination. As for Driscoll brothers, that's a classic and I think we should always call them that. Quality.

Defensively we are fine apart from the RB berth, on Friday it was glaringly obvious we are not the same machine with Kouyate, we do need a quick nippy striker to feed off Carroll who is all too isolated up top. regards paying for players would you really say that Tomkins was worth £12.5m ? on the cash front we got a great deal though it has cost us on the pitch as he was versatile and could play at RB. I admit I think I have been harsh on Nordveit who shows nice touches at times but is being played out of position, but seriously the January transfer window is a free for all for clubs demanding ridiculous money for players. Hogan could and I mean could be the answer to our prayers but what other sides are bidding for him?

Anyone think it is worth a punt on Hernandez? He seems to be scoring the goals and might not cost that much. Is Shane Long worth getting? I know he is pretty quick, works hard and is a good harasser. Just trying to think who we could get with the penny pinching Gollivans.

Shane long and Hernandez ? Edwindup I'd say they are probably exactly the 2 we should be targeting based on things that are achievable and what we need

If Payet goes (though I don't think he will in January) what about Sigurdsson and Llorente from Swansea?

Thanks for that endorsement. I didn't know Llorente was Chelsea bound. I was just thinking of alternatives in our quest for new players. Perhaps I won't bother again.
