joe hart deal almost done

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 13/07/2017 - 20:37

his goal scoring record is dire but..........seriously though this is a good signing for me. imo hes better than what we have. people say adrian is better but I cant see it. I also believe hes high profile and that in itself helps to attract players. no complaints from me. an england keeper in goal for hamners once again.

I don't see the attraction
He is no better than the two we have already and he comes with a huge wage bill, we can do better. BTW he is an ex-England keeper.

He probably is better than either of our current goalkeepers, but why then all the headlines declaring "Randy NFS"? If we need Hart, sell Randolph. Besides, even though we can always improve at any position, keeper wasn't the position of greatest need for us. And though Hart is good, he's not one of the best in the league. If we really had wanted a keeper we should have been in for Pickford. For me this is all a distraction.

until he is lining a wall up and the free kick comes in we will all be holding our breath....nice to see though that the striker priority for some reason has taken a backseat!

Can't help thinking this is moving deckchairs on the titanic. Sullivan is a bit like me shopping, go out to buy one thing and forgetting what it was and then buying something else. Thought they were only considering strikers, neither hart or arnie are strikers no matter how you spin it. Wait until Sullivan says he doesn't have the money for a decent striker cause he bought a keeper. Then after harts loan and Adrian is sold we will be back to square 1. Could be next seasons right back scenario. I do however believe what dicksy say about the fact he is a bigger name and may attract bigger players.

Sometimes chairmen think of big names attracting fans rather than players. That's why they talked up the idea that maybe Tevez would return, and I think they even mentioned Beckham at one point a few years ago. Stars put bums on seats. Not necessarily smart bums, but paying bums. It's why I always cringe when they mention someone past it (Rooney is an example for me) --they still may have a little in the tank, but the reason for signing them is not the current quality of their football.

If hart was still ok why aren't top clubs in for him or at least clubs midway in the league as they can get him for free and only pay 50,000 a week? It stinks of a signing being bought cause we are getting him on the cheap and not because we want him. Does anyone think if he does ok Sullivan will sign him for 20 million and over a 100,000 a week, next season? On a keeper?

I can’t believe some of the negativity I am reading about Joe Hart hopefully joining us. We are a mid table team at best at the moment so we are suddenly too good to have England’s current number 1 in our team!!

I think Hart is a terrific keeper and certainly better than Adrian and Randolph who are both decent keepers but come on Hart is a cut above. Plenty of us Hammers were moaning about the number of mistakes by both of them last season now suddenly we don’t need another keeper! Hart like all keepers throws a few in and has dips in form but he is still young in terms of goalkeepers and I still remember his stunning performance in Barcelona which was only the season before last.

Good deal for me initially on loan and if we can get a couple of these attacking players over the line then hopefully we will all be looking forward to this coming season a bit more.

One of the biggest problems is he wasn't a priority position, when we don't have a fit striker and we are yet to replace Payet.

For me mate right back, striker and goalkeeper were issues for us last season and I see Hart as an upgrade on what we had.

Totally agree mate TBH its all a bit same old same old, we need some of the old blood back!! A player of Hart's calibre and experience is available and we're bemoaning why others aren't in for him. If we weren't in for him we'd be bemoaning that too. I think there's a lot of whining for whining's sake. Bottom line is he's better than what we have. Isn't that the remit? It's mid July and apparently the transfer window is a failure!!

I am pretty much on the fence on this one... on one hand both Adrian and Darren Randolph have made some fantastic saves yet both have had their share of poor performances. Hart is prone to mistakes (just look at the two free kicks he conceded v Scotland) but can pull off some quality stops. But in the case of Hart he has something to prove... out of favour at City and his position (due to Buttland and Forster) under threat for England. Last term some of our defensive displays in front of our keepers did not inspire confidence and the back line and keeper should have an understanding. Englands back line is the poorest I can remember in a long time and fails to inspire confidence. Injuries to key players like Reid and Ogbonna and the release of Tomkins did not help us. Zabaleta should have an understanding with hart as they played together a lot and if Zabs and Hart can forge a a good relationship with the rest of the back line then all good and time will tell.
The old saying "if you don't score goals you can't win games" is akin to "you won't lose games if you don't concede goals" both bloody obvious but if we look back at last season we conceded far too many stupid and avoidable goals and that has to be addressed.

Bottom line mate is that he's 30 and won tons in football. If Guardiola wasn't so obsessed with tippy tappy he'd still be there. He's being pushed out because he's not great on the ball. Well neither are the two we have now. He's played in huge pressure situations, so he will make mistakes. But he's still better than what we have

He's in a different league to what we currently have in Adrian and Randolph. I never feel confident with our current two if I'm honest and although he's made a few blunders, all round he is a much better keeper.

Keep hearing about only on loan , "If it goes Pete Tong we ain't stuck with him" BLA BLA BLA. Rumor Has it (No this ain't Adele) that Citeh want 5 mill + west ham to pay 90% of Joe Harts wages. West ham only want to pay 2 mill plus his wages. I calculated that if citeh get there asking price it works out to 12mil for the year. Thats money that can go towards 2 good strikers. This 12 mill is a lot of money for a position that dont need filling and I tell you what the board have done They have showed both Adriane and Randolph just how good they think they are, and it would'nt surprise me if they both left. How clever are they? So this apparently this is the hold up on the transfer going through. And citeh could have us right where they want us with Randolph already had offers from Sunderland and Middlesborough, and I don't think Adriane will have much trouble finding a new club. Drop the Hart transfer and spend the money on positions that need strengthening like strikers and a pacey left winger, I'm not saying that he 's not a good keeper with lots of experience But we are West Ham not chelski or manure with shed loads of doe, and we can do a lot better than this for 12 mill and this deal ties us up If we want to buy him for next season. Apparently we would not do it with Inacho so why be in the same position with Joe Hart

I agree with you cast. Couple of curve balls here tho. 1 has bilic fallen out with Adrian last season it did come across that way to some and 2 how has this supposedly stalled on his loan fee AFTER he has passed a medical? Either it's bull or another classic from the board.

All Adriane And Randolph need to do is put in a transfer request an d bang there gone. Look at Marco Autovic at Stoke he has head turned by us he is gone with the same old scenario we dont want a player if he does'nt want to play for the club. Its happened a lot over the past few seasons, in the end the player always wins,
