People will slate me for this, but dare I say it: Relegation Beckons. Looking at our fixture list I would say we might have 3 points by the end of October. But then again we might only have 1. Or 0? The only match for the next 2 months that we have a chance of winning is Wolves at home, and I don't think we should bet on that. After that, when we are rooted at the bottom of the league, nothing will look easy. Brighton will be begging for a chance to play against us, Huddersfield will have no fear, etc. etc. A LONG HARD SEASON awaits now, due to this horrible start. I was hoping for no less than 3 points now. A mid-table, honest team that you can expect to be in the match against almost anyone. Now: easybeats. I'm trying to remain positive, but it's very difficult under the circumstances. Maybe we should have sold Arnautovic and kept Hugill if you know what I'm getting at? OK, you can fire away now.
but we will destroy Arsenal, right Dicksy?
It'd be just like West Ham, right?
Yes dicksy,It’s like no
Yes dicksy,It’s like no matter who we buy or have as manager there is a black cloud over us mate.
Our "best ever manager"
Will be gone by xmas...where did it all go wrong,i think some of us know!!
Shocking stories
From westham season ticket holders who havnt received their cards yet, having to queue up from 2 oclock yesterday at the ticket office & not being sorted out till end of the first half!! WTF is going on with these clowns that run our club
Ladies sitting behind us
Fans for many years and they told us yesterday that their tickets didn't work and they had to queue for ages. They also told me that their dad had decided not to re-new, and he has been going for 70 years! Such a shame, misses the old ground and getting fed up with the money in football as it's ruining the game.
This place will take 20 years
Before its even remotely thought of as home,by then most of the real westham support will have had enough
10 New signings, new style of
10 New signings, new style of play. Played well in parts against Bournemouth on the ball with some of our passing. That being said its more the players who were already here costing us points rather then the new signings. Fixture list isnt kind thats for sure.
Panic?
Probably but more a time to take stock. we are already in a relegation battle. I think we lose to Wolves, which is very likely, it will be time to ask serrous questions. It will clearly not be working and changes will be required. But what do you do? Sack El Pel, bring back Moyes or Alladyce? Players have to be accountable. The Porn Dwarfs will tell you they have done their part with £100M and in the first half yesterday the fans did their part, the atmosphere was great.
We've got some tough fixtures
We've got some tough fixtures but I think if El Pel can get his tactics and gameplans across then after that horrid run we could see some improvement provided everyone's not depressed at our awful start. No chance of El Pel being replaced or it even being considered at all this season imo. We're too good to go down( I know, I know) so the owners will take time to allow the project to develop. No one can seriously be expecting a top 6-8 finish after what we've served up since moving to that place in Stratford. We've invested well BUT have still got some excess baggage and unfortunately we're having to play some of them (and treat the others). Projects of this size aren't delivered quickly especially in football so let's all take a valium and see how it pans out. There's still 36 games to go, let's not reach for the shotguns just yet?
I understand peoples optimism
Yes its only 2 games, but look at the facts - a new manager (who is possibly vastly over-rated), most of the players have hardly played together,he doesnt know his system, drops 3 players after the first game??whats that all about!A stadium that is seemingly near impossible for our players to adjust to with a passionate, expectant crowd that wants to see some fight...
The pressure is on el pel more than any other manager weve had imo
Too early to panic? Probably.
Too early to panic? Probably. Having said that it depends on if the new signings fancy a battle. If not we're doomed. The likes of Huddersfield and Brighton may not have the quality (ha ha) we have but they do have the fight and organisation that we don't and it's a team game after all. It takes about 6 months for new players to settle and trying to fit into the new managers ways. Having said all this I find myself biting my tongue on pelle tactical naievety and the limited ability his new signings are showing.
This team has no fight thats the problem
Every team will relish playing westham at the moment & it doesnt matter if there is a great atmosphere in the first half then its shit second half when we are playing badly & everyone goes home...which is basically 90% of the time since we moved.Surely westham fans deserve more than they are getting??personally i doubt ill go anymore for the reason stated so it doesnt bother me that much but the people who attend regularly & pay their hard earned deserve more imo
65 I can't think of ANY club
65 I can't think of ANY club that's has fans so deserving of so much more than they have got for so long! We are so undercut in so many ways. As for ashes' thread, I'd say it is gona be a very long and stressful season for you! Better stock up on prozac
spot on
All the other clubs will be licking their lips at the prospect of 3 points ... home or away! And you are right, West Ham fans deserve a hell of a lot more from the team, manager, board and also those useless clowns that work in the stadium bar that dont think it would be a good idea to pour X number of pints ready for the serge at half time .... literally couldn't run a booze up in brewery ... rant over, back to optimism tomorrow :o)
I tell you what is worrying...
The fact that the manager is already having a pop at the fans for leaving early and not concentrating on what is going wrong on the pitch? Pathetic to blame the fans given some of his tatical decisions yesterday.
Tbf if they ask a question
Tbf if they ask a question about it hes gonna have to answer it. He does have a point. Though he needs to concentrate on the defence.
His post match reaction
Hangover from last season??won 2 drew 1 of the last 3 games, this type of arrogance will be his downfall
Poor excuse that dave,as you
Poor excuse that dave,as you say we finished the season on a high, and the new players weren't even involved mate, what next a sports psychologist coming in to have a word in there shell ;)
Defence
Well El Pel was the man who scouted and got otamendi mangala etc for citeh and they were poor everyone new it so does the man have an eye for a decent defender?....as for being to early to worry I do not think so I think the other question is new players or old players do they have the stomach for a fight?...winter is coming and here we go again.
I still can't get that Wilson
I still can't get that Wilson goal out me head MC,5 on 1 and all f*cked it up and made him look like Messi.
I've got to say this is
I've got to say this is ridiculous we've only played two matches ,give him a chance I bet by Christmas we'll be riding high and this will seem what it is ,a glich
Hope your right Burkie...
But have you seen the fixture list
He's seen the mouth watering
He's seen the mouth watering thick and fast dec fixtures,21pts up for grabs, lol
We don't panic! We're West Ham ffs!
We're the Irons.
Stand up if you love West Ham.
I couldn't care tuppence h'appeny what division we play in, because this is my club through thick and thin. Believe me it's been more thin, but we're all still here.
So, shoulders back, chest out, be proud, be loud.
We are West Ham's claret and blue army.
Btw, the revival has started without kicking a ball, Terriers are bottom of the pile,
See, things are looking up already, lol.
I love a bit of optimism and
I love a bit of optimism and good on you for that DJ. But, the facts remain that after getting two "great" players on a free and spending £100M on new players we will be again rock bottom after the first three games. Terriers home to Cardiff... nailed on points. In my mind this is not acceptable. I dont expect West Ham to win the league or ANY cups but for a club that is in the top 20 in the world by wealth I expect us to be capable of beating the bucket and spade brigade. AFC Wimbledon soon... feeling optimistic :o)
