Get it off your chest.......now who will take his place?i see we are now chasing Ligue 1 strikers ffs the assembly line keeps churning we will keep buying Merde as you say
Indeed Bikey, It really boils my piss, he wants to win things with Ajax. Couldn't give 2 Jeffs if it's Vim, Harpic or Domestos. Jeff off, and mind your arse on the door on your way out!!!
Annoying thing with him though as he had the ability but the attitude stunk like a month old boursin. Of recent years I remember when Maiga finally scored a goal for us - he was almost in tears, I thought maybe this was it, he will become a goal machine now. But wasn't his fault he was crap, at least he cared and tried - Haller should be contending for prem top scorer but he decided to waste his ability and that is unforgivable
Not if we dont sign a replacement we wont be. I have no issues with him leaving. He doesnt fit our system plain and simple. My issue is those claiming hes a bad player and continuing to leave silly comments like predicting he will sink without a trace. Blokes managed to get an upgrade on us.
Yes mate, that was him, boyish good looks.....fecking useless,i remember his legs would buckle like bambi, and he would fall to the floor when he got the ball, hopeless.
To be fair he's gone onto bigger and better things, a big club, European football, he'll win more silverware there than playing for a mid table at best West Ham, and the fact Ajax bought him proves he certainly isn't shit, good luck to the bloke.
So right now West Ham will be scrabbling around trying to sign a striker in the worst transfer window, when realistically we need 2 strikers as Antonio isn't one, and he's injury prone, what a balls up.
They haven't won a European trophy since the 90s? So not sure he's gone onto bigger and better things... the Premier League is the most competitive league in the world - if he wanted to be a big fish in a small pond he may aswell of gone to Scotland. He's definitely not shit, but his attitude is. You're right though about strikers we desperately need some
They play European football most if not every season, when would he do that at West Ham? i'll be lucky to see it hapen in my lifetime i reckon.
The Premier League is way overhyped in my opinion, it's money driven and a lot of the football being played is far from entertaining, with the exception of Man City probably. When the top teams play i normally end up switching it over because it's so bloody boring, and let's be honest it's only the overseas players that bring any excitement to the league.
I only ever watch westham games, havnt seen another prem game for years the odd highlights here & there thats about it.But for me that's a generalisation of the modern game, agree theres too much money,to much mamby pamby cheating etc.
It may be the most competitive but you only have to look at english clubs record in the champions league over the past 10 years to realise these other leagues people constantly undermine tend to have better teams then ours. He now gets to go play champions league football next season for a team that got to the semi final of it only 2 years ago.
What he does elsewhere? He did well at Frankfurt & he may do well at Ajax, but he was utter shite for us,so why the support for him? I thought we were westham fans & were only interested in what he did for our club! I guess that's absurd as well?
Bundesliga - bayern,leipzig,dortmund.....then im struggling to see another decent team
Dutch league - Ajax,feyenoord,PSV,the same....The prem is a global market,much more competitive & entertaining.
The german & Dutch leagues have better teams than us,I've heard it all now!
Lol Boogers.....For the record,i thought he was shit, and im not the only one who thought it,you can only go by how he played with us,which is the only relevance to any Hammers Fan.
So Haller scores on his debut for Ajax, came on as a second half sub and scored the equaliser against PSV, it'll be because it's a shit league i guess!
Well said 65,cant understand this input of flying the haller flag, even now he has gone,he was no good for us,and as i have continuelly stated, thats all that mattered.
He was no good for West Ham because he didn't suit the system Moyes plays, plus playing football is a job for players, just like you or me and if you're not happy at work then you don't perform to the maximum, but it'll be ok because we're now scouring the likes of the French divisions looking for the next shit West Ham striker!
Moyes will be bringing in a player that will fit in and wants to play for us,im sure of it,haller was sour, and could of done alot more for us,while on the pitch,he would of been given direction and change to what was needed,if he could of stood on his feet would of been a start.
I think there two things here Chipster. Whilst yes he was good on paper before he joined WestHam he was bought by a previous manager. It’s not up to Moyes to develop a team around players he may never have bought. Instead he develops a system using all personnel and the majority work well in that system. We’re certainly less entertaining but much more robust and organised. As for Haller he unfortunately like most footballers these days is a bit precious and he needs someone to love and shower him with compliments. I watched about 20 mins of Ajax the other night. He was talking, running, putting himself about, flicks tricks a goal you name it. You would’ve wanted to buy him if you saw him. But the manager there loves him. Tells him he’s special, believes in him, gets the best form him. But he can’t perform without that. For Moyes I guess he’s more about the collective rather than individual and Haller wasn’t someone who would believed in the team ethic. So the choice would’ve been keep Haller and get rid of Moyes or visa versa, as it wasn’t working. I know at the moment which I would choose. He’s gone, Moyes will now be judged by the player he chooses to come in. If it’s anything like his recent choices it will be ok, but at least we can judge him on that. To say that were trawling the Frenchman leagues etc...I suppose is unimportant. As I said elsewhere proven scores at one club don’t always transfer to another. What’s important is that they buy into the work ethos and team mentality that Moyes has developed.
Agree to a certain extent betty, i don't think Haller is needy of anything i just think he needs to enjoy his job in order to perform, like we all do.
Moyes is in a very similar mould to Allardyce in the way he sets out teams and from what he expects of the players, Haller isn't a shit player as many west ham seem to believe, he's not blessed with pace but then many great strikers aren't, and Ajax are a very good technical side, he'll be more suited to that instead of dealing with long balls and running channels.
I'll be interested to see who Moyes buys, whoever it is will need to feed off scraps, for me we don't make enough chances in a game for anybody to be prolific, so i'm guessing it will be a willing runner with pace. Antonio is too risky to rely on long term in my opinion, too injury prone and he's not a striker, and when he's crap he's really crap!
Unfortunately Moyes is probably exactly what we need in a league that is no longer entertaining to watch, he'll keep us up and that's what the men in charge want.
Yea can’t disagree with any of that mate. I think the fact fans aren’t in the ground helps this transition to a Moyes type of side. I think you could see today we get opportunities but don’t have the quality to finish them off. But as you say it’s all about staying in the league and weathering this pandemic to a time when things will normalise. I’m still not a massive Moyes fan but can obviously see how well we are achieving points. Can he, if and a big if, backed do more ? That’s the question I want answered
Totally agree about the transition without the fans, i think fans at the stadium would've put much more pressure on him and the players to perform, i think West Ham fans can be some of the most deluded in football to be honest, the reality is that West Ham haven't seen success for years, regardless of the history of the club West Ham are an average Premiership side which could easily be in a relegation fight in any one season.
I'm much the same as you regarding Moyes, i see him as a stabilising influence on the club much like Allardyce, although i think the way Premiership football is going that type of manager is making a comeback, i think entertaining football has had its day.
29 points at the start of the new year! That's unheard of most seasons in the prem, moyes must be doing something right & deserves a bit of credit imo,got us solid at the back strong midfield rice soucek fornals & in bowen benny & a fully fit Ants we are a match for most teams! If you're used to disappointment every year any success is a bonus I for one am really enjoying this season for a change!!
Well said 65,lets enjoy what we have, and yes im glad where we are,but im pissed off im not there in person to see it,i also think the way we are playing the fans with our support at the BOM would be rocking it,so dont agree with chippy in his feeling to keep the fans away being detrimental to progress.
But I reckon it will be rocking once fans are allowed back, like yourself Essex, fans will be dieing to watch live football again, regardless of where its played
