I used to love Shalamar, but got the glue off my feet and moved on from 80's...man there was so many awesome memories of Zero 6 with the Barnet boys making trips there and getting it on in the surrounding car parks before the long haul back home...them's were the days, eh...

You were a bit flash then mate! Mexico!!;)I had a mark 2 escort back in the day (white of course!) Goldmine was quality used to win all the awards,if we couldnt get in there cos it got so busy kings club up the road or the Monaco (that was a dive!) Went to flicks a couple of times also...remember the car stickers
LOL 65!
The important point on that post was "Mexico look a like" it was a white 1300 GL with a blue go faster stripe and alloy wide wheels... loved that car! You must have seen it ... always parked in Inneskilling road around the corner from UP. The other venue of choice was Fridays at the Lyceum ... Capital Radio's live "Best Disco in Town" with Greg Edwards... Good times... in the words of Chic.... another fantastic band, once met Nile Rodgers in a very expensive hotel bar in Paris late 90's, such a lovely guy!!!
Ah now I remember!
Couldnt miss that mate,on the walk to UP!! Lyceum on a friday yes remember that his show was live on capital radio, what a difference to nowadays even without lockdown, nightclubs are a dying breed
Have you boys ever been to
Have you boys ever been to the Caister Weekenders,i havent been, never get round to it,it looks good, the best music ever, soul DJs and guest appearances, all the stuff youve mentioned and more, they do a couple a year....the clubs now arent like they were with proper dance music...back in the day i was more into Yankee Cars, had a Chevrolet Camaro V8.
Did a caister weekend
Back in the day Essex,Chris Hill,Froggy were among the djs to do sets back then, great weekend....made me laugh cos i used to go there as a kid on holiday every year!! I was about 19 at the time of the weekender,no parents around on that one!!
essex, 65, Caister
biggest regret... never made a Caister weekend. Lots of mates went came back with cracking tales!
