Are we all happy Hammers now?

Submitted by Betty Swollox on Mon, 25/10/2021 - 11:31

Seems like ages since I posted. Maybe the team’s successes mean we don’t have much to say? Maybe we’re better when we’ve got something to moan about? So I wanted to ask the question, are we happy? Is the board ok now? Do we want a takeover rocking the boat? Is Moyes no longer a dinosaur? Did we need that extra striker in the summer? Nearly a quarter into the season sitting in top 4, is a good cup run and top 10 our aspiration, as it has been for years?.

Ironically the PAI(n) bid had the reverse effect that they thought it would, gold and sulivan are rogues, but they are 'our' rogues who only used to help people to get tied up for pleasure etc, as opposed to owners who string people up who don't agree with them!.
Moyes is busy redeeming what at one time appeared to be a broken career, he seems to see West Ham as HIS club, one that he is going to ressurect to it's former glory. Therein lies the rub, the club has rarely known ANY real consistency or glory and now it has the potential. Moyes has somehow managed to get the owners to shut up and leave him to run things, he has not dissappointed has he? The recent games at the Bowl have had atmosphere's as good and dare I say occasionaly better than at the Boleyn. Hearing sweet caroline belting out of the PA after the spurs game was rather apt as the good times really do feel so good.

Having nothing to moan about & you could be right the match day thread is getting less & less comments!! I'm really happy that we have a great team for the first time in donkeys years.Ive never been & never will be a fan of the dildios & bonus but by a stroke of unimaginable luck they've actually achieved what they set out to do...even the stadium feels like a lot better atmosphere, funnily enough my last game I watched there was the cup defeat to the spuds about 3 years ago, which was honestly the worst atmosphere at a westham game I've ever been to...I may even try it again, shock horror

You would be pleasantly surprised, no, actually gobsmacked by the turn around in the atmosphere. I hated the place so much I often passed my season ticket on to my son's friend, until recently. As you say, it is definitely more by luck than judgement that we are where we are, but who cares? When was the last time it was generally accepted that most of a West Ham team could walk straight in and replace a team from Tottingham?

On the box there are a lot more fans standing, showing passion & I couldn't hear the spuds!!That has always been my biggest gripe about the place...I can put up with everything else as long as there's a stadium with fire in its belly!

It’s funny isn’t it because our natural animal instincts are to vent. I think this site is brilliant for that, it’s a good place to have a rage about how crap things at the club are. But maybe as fans we have to change our mindset. I wasn’t a Moyes fan when he came to us the second time. I thought one trick pony. But actually the football is good too. The purists will point to possession stats and ticky tacky football, but I quite like our style. And now I think we have one. It’s hard as a hammer to be looking up the mountain, we’re used to looking at the abyss. But it’s exciting and not least for my two boys, who finally have some bragging rights at school!

Yep, bragging rights at school or college for your kids is an often over looked bonus, mainly because it rarely existed in the past! Now it does, and some!

But if we keep this up i will have to give up supporting them because i do not want to turn into something akin to a spuds fan.....now they are deluded.
