Not particularly...what exactly was his illness Ashes? Can't we learn from KN experience and sign a season at a time or let hm go elsewhere...I can live with that.
Fletcher had very serious ulcerative colitis. I'm no medical expert but I don't think you ever completely recover from that. It would without doubt be a gamble to sign him but then again you would think our medical team would have advised Sam of the consequences. I have read that if he does sign then Mark Noble would be for sale. That I do not agree with and would be another big mistake by Sam.
Seems negotiations have broken down thank God. This would have put the icing on the cake after yesterday's defeat. So it's good news and bad result to kick of February with and 3 tough games ahead.
Never thought he was an outstanding player even at his best (which was only maybe 3 years of his career). He has played so little nobody can really know what level he can play at now. So not unhappy this has fallen through.
Looks like Sam is gutted.....he looked a bit grumpy on SSN last night......£75k a week for 3.5 years.....that was a complete joke.......thank goodness SUGO wouldn't meet his demands.

If Noble is sold to make way
If Noble is sold to make way for Fletcher, I'll be bloody furious.
Noble has his limitations ...
... but I would never in a million years prefer 30 year old injury prone Fletcher to the local favourite who plays his heart out for West Ham.
