We are all rubbing our eyes in disbelief as to just how good this West Ham team/Squad are and how they seem to improve every match..supporting this club for more than 50 years i cannot say i have ever ever seen a better and more consistent West Ham side than this one over last two seasons and i include the boys of 86 in that.
Supporting this club you expect the odd win against the big boys hopeful of a cup run and occassional final and of course getting battered by other teams home or away but it was West Ham it happens and we were comforted by that nothing flash like the boys from the Kings road no we were/are the working mans club hard graft gritty with some flair but good honest players.
Fast forward to today a manager nobody wanted but by god are we glad we have him now the coaching is top draw and a squad of players who are not sulking not bitching about not playing no a squad of players who all know the boss is the boss what he says goes(Ole jealous much!)but he clearly values all the players just not the starting eleven and he has managed to get rid of the deadwood slowly but surely and no Billy big Bol***ks allowed and oh how we have thrived under this regime.
The board probably cannot believe how lucky they are a manager who will not be pressured into buying for buying sake and yes he can dither and second guess himself and it can be frustrating as a supporter but he has been proven time and time again that he gets it right.
Other teams now dont look at the fixture list and think ahh West Ham next week thats 3 points nope that day has gone we are no longer a soft touch no longer go a goal down and its game over no we have a resilience a belief instilled throughout the squad that home or away we fight till the last second and if beaten we as fans know players have given there all and not just surrendered like many times in the past.
It is taking some getting used to and it is still hard work to think we are now going into games against any opposition with a real chance of getting something from the match how many times in our Hammers supporting lives have we said that.
Crowds filling the ground away support like no other this West Ham keeps pushing on and growing with each passing month and yet the players seem to keep in touch with the supporters and thankful for what we give them.
We are currently the hottest ticket in the premier league right now and the team on everyones lips(unless your a spud lol)this is some Era we fans are living in right now lets enjoy it because who knows how long it will last and when if it will happen again.

Been following them from afar since 1965 and I can’t believe how well we are playing. I bet even Manu wish that Moyes was managing their team now and when you think that they never gave him the opportunity to shape the team there as he has shaped ours even though Sir Alex chose him as his replacement because he could see how good he could be. Given his choices and backing him is really paying off and aren’t we as fans loving it.
I think the "no Billy big
I think the "no Billy big bollocks" is the key. Zouma is on big money, but he's starting to produce the goods in the Prem. I wondered if the key to our success last season was no fans and no pressure. But we have gone up a level this season with the fans, so no.
Belief is everything, but when belief becomes expectation though, that's when things can change. Lets keep believing and win that first piece of silverware....

Last season there were no fans - and we didn't play badly either. This season we have a good chance to fight for a good tournament position. But there are injuries in the team. Morning chaps...Couldn't agree more with each and every post so far on the subject. I also caught the bug in the 60's, was fortunate that a mate of my Dad's took me to UP during the 64 cup run and of course the following year for the ECWC run and to the final at Wembley (Dad's family were all Spuds btw). So anyway obviously I have tasted success but it's been a long time since the last time!! So that's the point of my title I suppose that the young un's and the kids have no ides what it's like. Ive got a 12yr old Grandson who has had a season ticket with me since the move from UP and he did start to waver after a couple of yrs but the resuls and the atmos(as he would say) at the European nights have brought him right back. So that's about my ramble over, apart from the fact that I also still shite myself waiting for the old bubble to burst!

What more is there that this team can achieve...smile on every Fans face a team with a never say die spirit where each and every player is putting in the work doing the dirty jobs tracking back etc and getting the JUST rewards for it...the whole club has been reborn the soul of West Ham finally came to life in that Place yesterday and it finally seems that players and fans now accept that this is home....Moyes is reborn and so has our wonderful football club....

The 86 Boys were good,but these are different times,the football is faster,i would say this team now would be far to slick for them.

Whether the boys of '86 would compete against todays team with the different type of football played today is a debate that will never be known. Alternatively could the boys of today compete with that team back in '86? I reckon they'll all be tearing their little hamstrings on the mud baths and snow covered pitches of those days never mind controlling a ball. Oh.. and don't forget. You were allowed to tackle back then too.

IMO, if the current team played the Boys of 86 they would win by the odd goal. Which is not bad considering most of them are now in their 60's :o)

Even the boys of 86 is 35 years ago! We havnt had much to cheer about over the last 40 odd years....di canio,tevez,payet,last season at the Boleyn! Investment now by the czeck geezer,the future is bright the future is claret & blue
