Sunday morning and after yesterdays Spring clean...i no why do women do that and its normally our stuff to be cleaned! well i had to "get shot of my old footy programmes" dont worry lads they went into the loft.

Anway i was looking at the Squad we had on the back of one of the programmes it was for an F.A. cup game against Blackburn back in 1998 and seeing some of the names made me smile but one name i came across i have gone totally blank on and can't even see the player in my minds eye and that is in a squad which included Neil Finn Lee Boylan Scott Mean Samassi Abou etc and going back even further(1982) i saw Sandy Clark play! rare as hens teeth....but the player for some reason i cannot picture and it is killing me is Richard Hall.....no bells ringing the minds gone totally blank and i'm thinking come on bike you do no who he is but nope nothing there so give my memory a bit of a kick can you as it's starting to grate a bit.

In a cup game Mac,he was always on the fringes of the first team if I remember but didn't get much game time & ended up in the lower leagues i may be wrong if someone googles it!

And Blackburn wasn't one of them. Name rung a bell with me, but for no apparent reason,
so did a bit of research. Signed from Southampton ,he was massively injury prone (sound familiar?) and retired at age 27 so easy to forget. Funny thing though, going back through that period was seeing the name Bernard Lama, the great French International goalkeeper we got on loan for a spell. Can't believe ( and nor could Arsene Wenger) that 'Arry preferred Craig Forest over him, so another short stay player one could forget. 'Arry bought in quite a few forgettable players during his tenure. Helped to pay for his Sandbanks Mansion so the rumour goes.

Bloody hell,we've had some poor players I remember him.Arry had a conveyor belt of players in & out, loads of different foreign players that were well past there sell by date....Paulo future, radaciou etc Marco boogers was a classic!

Of Raducioiu and was disappointed it didn't work out. I've unfortunately read 'Arrys books and his version of the shopping trip and have to say I take his version of events with a pinch of salt, as I did much of his versions of events in his books.

Do a whole new thread on past the sell by date,as NHH says John Radford, there was also Ted Macdougall,Stuart Pearson though he wasn't too bad for us,Lee Chapman,David Speedie again not to bad, mido,Benny Macarthy & numerous others

Modobo Maiga..Simone ZAza..Jonaththan Callerri..Ashley Fletcher..Lucas Perez..Frederic Piquionne..Albian Ajeti..Pablo Berrera...and of course the one and only Marco Boogers.....those are just a few i can think of off the top of my head but blimey do we need to think of any more! unbelievable when you think about it God knows how much we paid collectively for those but one things for certain they were never worth tuppence let alone the millions that would of been spent

That did my nut in as much as Haller...Julian Faubert! He was supposed to be right back ( admittedly he was never a defender) but most of the time he was so out of position he might as well have been on the wing...he was pony mate!!

Mate.. The dross we have had at West Ham, some names there that made me shiver! But for me Julian Faupar is the worst footballer I ever saw in a West Ham shirt. He was voted by Real Madrid as their worst player EVER in there club but Allen McKnightmare got the same at Celtic and I think on some dodgy west ham site, shame as I met the guy and he is a lovely bloke!

As he was played as a Right Wing, Midfielder for France and Martinique as well as at other clubs although he did start his career at RB. Another awful player at RB was Jonathan Spector although it's arguable that that was ever his best position. I can think of worse than Faubert though. I'll just chuck these names into the hat. Nigel Quashie, Gary Breen, Peter Eustace, Paul Hilton and yeah, Carlton bloody Cole

So read up the report on it ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/league_cup/9233755.stm ) . 4 assists by Victor Obinna and he also had a goal disallowed. Some names in that line up I had completely forgotten about, Ben Haim, Barrera and Kovac and another player one could call absolute pony, Boa Morte, although I will never forget him goading Frank Lampard into a red card, the only bright moment in a home 0-4 drubbing.

That was Mac! Savio,I think we paid around 9 million for him,a big outlay for us,apparently the next big thing but true to form with Westham he was a dud

Nigel Quashie, f*** me I thought that one had been erased from my memory. What an absolute steaming pile of shit he was. Wasn't he bought in as he had experience of relegation battles? Failing to realise he was actually relegated plenty of times!! Hardly inspiring.

Paul Hilton.. wow! The 10 nil drubbing of Bury, famous for a question on QoS when Bill Beaumont backed up the answer by saying West Ham for reason decided to buy the centre back! Beggers belief but typical West Ham.

Im not sure Highlighting that Faubert played for Martinique helps change my mind :o)

I would like to throw in another name with an illustrious West Ham career.. SANDY CLARK! I think he had his first game for us in a friendly at Charlton. We all thought West Ham must be paying in instalments as he seemed to be playing at 50% capacity. Tommy Doc would have said he can trap a ball further than he could kick it!
