Apparently, West Ham have made a £30m bid and offered 18-year-old English midfielder Lewis Orford in a move to sign Aston Villa and Colombia striker Jhon Duran.
Cant say this feels like good business.
Duran Duran has issues, seen as a bad boy, probably upset the dressing room, just feels like too much and now smacking of desperation to get a forward to join us.
Not happy about losing Orford. Local lad, been through the academy and was hailed as a cross between Rice and Lampard, sort of kid you would want to develop?
I know nothing
About Orford so can't really comment. I will say, however, that our "Academy" is no longer the conveyor belt producing wonder kids it used to be. Rice apart, name one who has gone on to International stardom, never mind Premier League status. We've rid ourselves/sold many kids who have bombed. Perkins, Ashby, Baptiste, Longelo, Ngakia heck, I ain't naming them all. Maybe we should stop living in the past. There is no longer a West Ham Way that many of us older fans hanker after.
Good point DH
The academy is not what it was, Chavski and City have taken that mantle.
You have to be careful here, we are famous for also losing kids that started in the WH juniors but are enticed away by other more successful clubs and I not talking about that scum bag Terry. The little kid at Chavski scoring all the goals in the U21 was one of ours.
Dreadful business. Duran
Dreadful business. Duran Duran is over hyped and has an attitude that makes the Ivan Toney award look like Jacob Rees-Mogg!! Orford and Earthy are the next two youngsters in line for greatness here. He's really done well with the first team squad thus far in pre season.
There are other fish in the sea. Orford should not be put on offer. Especially against an unknown, but it's not an ordinary world out there anymore!!!
correct Boogers
Why not offer back Ings at a cut down price?

If he has the attitude of a bad boy, trouble maker, steer clear, remember Ravel Morrison, great player with potential, but couldnt calm it.
now there was a waste of
now there was a waste of talent Essex, what a great player by head was in the clouds or in a nick! If Fergie or Fat Sam couldn't handle him you just know he was beyond the pail.
He has now left the country, causing havoc I guess in the USA.
He purchased a disabled parking permit for £50 and got caught having to pay a couple of grand. Amazing, earned a fortune and still committing petty crime!
Good point and
Good point and notwithstanding the fact he's also a Johnny Foreigner. The old lost in translation card, would not be long on the table!
Just to point out with all these deals and promises falling through. El Loppo will call time and Jeff off before he's even started. As he has previously..
Well 3 weeks before kick off
Well 3 weeks before kick off,and basically we still have the old crew.
Its classic Sullivan, all
Its classic Sullivan, all talk and no delivering unless its one of his dodgy mates part of the agents that gives him a kick back. Lots of players not interested in joining us is the message which I dont buy. Still think that little runt is holding us back with zero ambition for WH, its all about his own personal return £££££
