FFS yes Potter

Submitted by VAR on Fri, 10/01/2025 - 09:29

Imo the best choice from the possibilities. Mark Noble played a big part in sorting it. Time will tell of course, but I believe given time Potter will prove a good appointment. Lop was never going to work, he was just the cheap option by sullivan and co.

Potter has a decent squad to work with. Hopefully his style of play will bring the best out of kudus paqueta and summer ville and convince them the club is going forward.

Excited and optimistic with this.

That is the crucial word....i am prepared to give him time but already the media have started about how will West Ham fans feel if he goes 3 months without a win like he did at Brighton....come on now they have to do better than the constant mudslinging they do at our club

Very happy VAR. Like you I feel a great level of optimism and excitement. Yes I'm 62 this year but I can still feel excited about my club. Never thought I would ever again though to be honest. Dark days under Flopetegui. No communication, either to his players it seems. Certainly not the media.

I've watched all of Potters media duties on line Goose Green arrival, training, press conf and WHUFC TV interview. All extremely upbeat and positive. I get that he genuinely feels energised to be back in Management and this could be his club in the making.

We all know it's not going to transform overnight. But pretty soon we'll see a pattern emerging. Least of all the players will see a dark uncommunicative cloud lift from over them. No translators needed. You mark my words, this is the start of a feel-good factor.

Now as you all know the last word here must go to Boogercarvan Jnr even though he's nearly 29................POTTERBALL..........PMSL

The die hards could not wait to see the back of him when he left after 8 or so years. Apparently he had taken the club as far as he could. So they are going to be well and truly over their Scouse moon. NOT!!

Strange thing is, he will probably edge them clear of the relegation zone, very, very slowly.

Z cars will never sound so loud lame, Casualty should be their new anthem...!!

Potter will come good, dont expect immediate stuff, but with time and being able to get rid and bring in,i feel this guy will get it right.

To see our manager on the touchline actually giving instructions and looking involved. Rather than the usual slumped chair nothingness.

I just hope all the optimists on here will put their hands up if things go tits up,I'm not a potter fan but I'm prepared to give him a chance , nothing will happen this club until there's a change at the top and that fekin board sent packing .
I know I keep goin on about it but I'll never get over what they did with our beutifull and legendary Upton park .

Burkie 1

Why is it so important to you for people to put their hands up? Do any of us have a say in who is sacked and who is appointed?

It's so childish. Like its a game of I told you so. Jeez.

Losing Upton Park is the single, most damaging thing to happen to this club in all my time as a Hammer. Previously it was the sale of Martin Peters, the Bond Scheme, the stabbing in the back of Billy Bonds. All gave momentary feelings of that's it, I'm finished with this club but none of them have touched anywhere near my sentiments to our move to the rented Scaffolding Stadium they call home.
Potter is now the icing on the cake for me, we might just as well have kept Moyes for all the excitement Potters going to bring. Another Curbishley if you like, season after season of midtable drudgery. That's all he ever did at Brighton but it seems that many of the pro Potter team are excited by that prospect. Potter is now our 15th manager in 35 years (counting Moyes twice) since Lyall left and I've been pretty good at predicting how they'd do, apart from Grant ( I actually thought he would do well), and Pardew who I'd never heard of so had no feelings for.
Oh well, we need the transfer window out of the way and the rest of this season which is all but over really to see the direction we're heading Good to see the fans all happy with our first half display, personally I thought Villa were absolutely shocking, injuries didn't improve matters but now we move on. At least my local team are now top of the table.

Dave, there was more excitement in 45 mins than the entirety of moyes reign!
