Bit like the good old days when the only foreign transfers that happened were Scots coming down to play in Div 1....A snippet in the papers once a week then suddenly "XXXXX" signs for the Hammers and as fans we thought wow wonder who he is if he is any good etc where as nowadays every bloody player has some you tube channel showcasing his talents and suddenly we are all experts on the player.

But back to the Club..the recent dealings regarding sales whilst we all new who would for sure be leaving the club were not saying anything rather let media outlets fan channels etc speculate over the price and such and how much we should sell for as valuations way inflated and nobody would pay up...Radio silence from the club nothing until the price was met and the deal done...now i think we can all agree that had the other lot still been in charge instead of the over £140million we got for both players their would of been story after story about how we have to sell before we can buy we really need to sell blah blah blah and if we had got anywhere near £100million for both we would of been amazed.

So are you happier with this new way (proper) of going about our dealings or are you needing the drug of constant links and Chairman led gossip leading to chaos.

One last thing to note although i mentioned the Scots coming down as regular transfers in the summer in those long ago days i have to say(nope not talking the great Clyde Best here) i rmbr going to this match and seeing this Lad make his debut and score for us.....and come on now that is the proper away kit you have to agree...

You are spot on McB, those other clowns would have sold our crown jewels for half the price pocketing a bung!

Its very odd to be "happy" about losing our best players but we are getting good or even exceptional value. The hope is that the money will recycle in the form of new players specifically for the chumps league.

Summerville is quoted as saying he didnt want a move to Spudz as it was "disrespectful" to WH fans! Didnt worry that See You Next Tuesday Kudos!

Love the video, Ade Coker was a really exciting addition, never sure why he didnt get more chances than just 10 appearances. I guess having Geoff Hurst and Pop Robson ahead of you was tough.

Yes i do like it,i have feelings of being more down to earth, with the players we have now wanting to be with us,the premier league produces an aura,of too much big shot attitudes,i wanted us to stay up,but realise now how sick of it i was.........Ade Coker, what great days they were.

Before committing to any feelings about a so called "new model". The only thing that has really changed for me is that Kretinskey allegedly put his hands in his pocket and put in some £90mill which as far as I can work out covered the financial responsibilities the club owed. I reckon we would still have got decent money for Fernandez, Spuds are chucking money about like Andy Burnham. Summerville also would have commanded a decent fee as there was clearly a bidding war on for him. I'd've been more impressed if we'd kept both of them.
Time will tell if keeping Bowen is the big deal everyone seems to think it is, I stand by my previous comments that, Everton apart, no decent offers or clubs would have come in for him, and how Bowen will fare in the rough and tumble Championship with no VAR is anyone's guess
If this "new model" is anything like the model being run at Kretinskeys Sparta Praha are anything to go by, I won't be expecting anything more than mediocrity.

Thirteen years ago as an 18 year old. Bowen is no Ronaldo or Messi and it was clear last season that he had lost pace. He'll be in his thirties this season and if (and it's a big IF) , we go up he won't be up for the Premier League and will almost certainly be valueless.

Bizzare way to look at things. Hes stepping down a level. He will be just fine.
