When Mauro Zarate arrived at the Boleyn Ground, he was clearly a David Sullivan signing, and as such the striker was met with a clear degree of negativity by then manager Sam Allardyce. As a result of Allardyce's alacrity, Zarate was given the cold shoulder and eventually farmed out on loan to QPR. (hammers even made a profit on the loan deal) Now the south american is being treated as the decent player he was when he first arrived, he is beginning to show what might be and what might have been if he had been given the chance to shine by playing on a regular basis instead of cameo roles, who knows why he didn't get his opportunity? Perhaps not being part of the Curtis mafia had something to do with it, or maybe because his wife is so pretty! Either way there was some skull duggery involved, but the good thing is that Mauro is back in 'the family' and with some encouragement and coaching (being told when to pass!) could become e real handful playing the fox in the box role, not dissimilar to that played by Gary Lineker, who he bears a strange similarity in appearance with, particularly Lineker in his younger years. It is to be hoped that Zarate can put the past behind him and maybe try to emulate Lineker on the pitch. Who knows? After all, this is Slaven Billic's West Ham, if anyone can get Mauro firing on all cylinders it is the Cro Man! - Ed

He can't become a Lineker: he
He can't become a Lineker: he can score from outside the box! LOL
But I agree Nev, Bilic seems very good at man-management, if he can just get inside Zarate's head enough to get him passing a tad more, we have quite a weapon of our hands. And I gather he worked damn hard at getting back yesterday, so talk of him being fat and unfit was plainly nonsense.
he's a little gold nugget so
he's a little gold nugget so he is, tell us more about his pretty wife Nev

Down to Managers style and
Down to Managers style and ethics I think. Didn't fit the fat ones mantra not big enough for Hoofball. Now we have a Manager who has more than a modicum of intelligence we shall see more from him. I thought he had a particularly nice haircut on Sunday also....!!
Reminds me more of Jimmy
Reminds me more of Jimmy Greaves actually. Does sweet FA for 89 minutes and then.................actually thats a bit generous saying 89 minutes. He was knackered after an hour at Arsenal and subbed. Sorry Idon't like him much and when Valencia, Carroll and hopefully Hernandez or Austin aare all up and running he'll be back out on loan.
