Nuno Espírito Santo Is Set To REMAIN West Ham Manager

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Tue, 26/05/2026 - 14:06

Nuno Espírito Santo is expected to remain at West Ham United after further talks have taken place.

Numerous sources yesterday suggested that Nuno was set to face the sack after a meeting with the club, but yesterday evening, it turned out to be inconclusive.

Daniel Kretinsky, who is rumoured to have levelled his stake with David Sullivan in the club, has been an advocate for Nuno to remain in his position. Meanwhile, David Sullivan wants to trigger the ‘free release clause’ West Ham placed in the Portuguese manager's contract and sign a manager on a free.

After further discussion today, the club are now more willing for Nuno Espírito Santo to stay in the Championship and believes he could be the right man for the rebuild that the Hammers are set to undergo, as well as most importantly, tackle the task of taking West Ham up at the first time of asking.

Other candidates are yet to be explored, but at this moment in time, the Hammers are likely to remain with Nuno.

It's not often a big club goes down and retains the manager. So Nuno doesn't want to walk then? That surprises me to be honest. I'm not questioning his integrity, or loyalty. It's the fact that he's prepared to put up with the poison dwarf still?

Plenty of mileage in this one yet I feel..
