Sack or Stay

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Wed, 04/02/2026 - 09:15

Towards the season coming to a close, it begins to raise the question whether Nuno, formally now known as ‘Luno’, should stay in charge in the event that the Hammers are relegated.

It has been said that if Nuno were to get relegated, that means the West Ham board would be able to release Nuno from his duties without compensation, but contrary to popular belief, this is incorrect. Whether West Ham stay up or get relegated, at the end of the season, the board will have an opportunity to ‘review’ Nuno and make a decision whether they want to keep or axe him, this is not dependent on relegation.

Whilst the board have yet to make a decision on Nuno, him getting the sack this season would be incredibly unlikely, despite at one point it was seemingly close, that is now no longer apparent.

With the o saco out of the question, if the Hammers stay up, should Nuno continue to stay in charge or should he even be considered to manage in the Championship? Whilst it may not be liberating for fans to imagine this prospect, it’s certainly something that could become apparent given the situation West Ham are in, but would he be the correct man to navigate the circus?

However, for the time being, Nuno is expected to manage the remaining 14 games of the season, 4 of which are against top six sides. It certainly won’t be a walk in the park, but the club has still been able to grasp the leash by its threads - LN

He's been fighting to sort the mess from Potter. At least we can see a shape, way of playing and players playing with energy and fight.

Yes some of his decisions have been so frustratingly annoying but until the board go and i mean every single last one of them our club will only continue on its downward spiral....and who would we get in if this lot stays in charge? Steve Bruce or the Wally with the Brolly or some other out of work cheap as chips yes man who doesn't give a shit and happy to take the shit for a year then get a nice payoff.

Chopping and changing managers. Got to stop breaking and rebuilding squads. No, Nuno is not my ideal but he's the best since Allardyce.
Might change my mind at the end of the season when the manager merry go round happens but at the moment I don't see anyone better available. I remember a few Amorim supporters on this group though. Still fancy him?

Very much so. If Tottenham give him time it should go well. Bees are my second team, I used to watch them in the lower divisions when Hammers were away, and I can see what he is trying to do at Spurs. Probably won't happen if Poch is really sniffing around, another guy I have a lot of time for

.. if / when we go down. He was at fault for a number very poor decisions on selection and substitutions. Stay up... give his another chance.

I think Paco Jemez knows the West Ham way

If we do manage to stay up then keep him, personally i think we will go down can't stay up if you can't keep clean sheets but if we go down we should give paco jemez a go why not i'm sure some of our upturn in attack has something to do with his arrival.

After the first half with Chelsea,it shows that there is something there, and he has some kind of vision,we need to cover this again at the end of the season,as i think we all may have a different take on it,i personally am sick of the foreign influx of managers.

Gang, when we go down, Nuno will leave and the old saying of, left the club by mutual consent. Will be the reason.

Nuno can't wait for the season to end. Working for a circus is killing him.
