Suddenly It's Sponsor City At Stratford

The soulless dome, the bowl of misery as well as the big white elephant, all of these names have been associated with the Olympic Stadium ever since West Ham United took out their 99 year tenancy nearly SIX years ago! One element that has been conspicuous by it's absence has been a sponsored NAME, quite how such an iconic structure could have remained nameless for such a long time is bewildering and is a classic example of the LDDC's chronic mismanagement of the Stadium.

This impasse looked to continue ad infinitum until the government's decision to review betting sponsorship on shirts AND stadia gathered pace, there are as many betting adverts in the UK as there are cleaning products adverts on Spanish TV!

New shareholder Daniel Kretinsky's wing man Pavel Horsky who will be joining him on the board is a financial 'placer', his acumen in business circles being well known. His first remit is to acquire a new NON betting sponsor, while also finding a suitable company to sponsor the stadium at Stratford.

Foot locker are currently being mooted as a potential kit sponsor, but what about the Stadium itself? It may NOT actually be that fit for purpose, but it does look incredibly impressive, especially at night when it is illuminated. Furthermore, the surroundings of the Queen Elizabeth Park with it's wide open spaces skirted by a cleaned up canal that has plenty of match day food and drink outlets, as well as musical entertainment on it's banks, is a completely different world to that which confronts fans of Arsenal and Tottingham as they leave their stadia.

As those fans from North London know only too well, when you leave either stadium you walk straight in to a khazi, even Daniel Levy cannot polish a turd, although he does often try! So bearing in mind how astonishing the venue appears to overseas viewers, it should only be a matter of time before a high profile 'quality' sponsor can be found for the Stadium naming rights.

We have mentioned it in the past, can you imagine how stunning the Olympic Stadium would look with a Tesla hologram being projected that could be seen for miles? Brands like Tesla are the future and it would surely be in the club's best interest to acquire a top brand sponsor IRRESPECTIVE of the short term financial gain.

The interest in West Ham has been growing at a fervent pace recently due to a combination of success both on and off the pitch during the last 20 months, Hammers global presence is an untapped resource and one that Horsky will be keen to exploit, previous attempts have been amateurish in the extreme and bordered on the embarrassing.

It can be safely assumed that 'professionalism' has finally landed near Stratford, ironically Hackney Wick has become the preferred arrival point for many supporters, the freedom of walking along the canal amplifies how naff the Stratford run' along with it's stop go paddle boards really is!

Hammers have been a 'sleeping giant' for too long, however as the current phrase that is trending goes "we are massive", let's hope Elon Musk agrees! - Ed

Totally agree, 'professionalism' has finally landed near Stratford! i dont come from the Hackney Wick side but must say I see less of stop go paddle boards. The infratructure on rails is much better than Spudz and Arse. The place is feeling like home and the security are probably just getting better at managing a Massive Crowd to see a Massive Club that is waking from the slumber of a sleeping giant!! ... COYI's!!!!
