We are not quite sure as yet, as these things can be altered right up until the last minute, but if you are unable to attend Hammers Betway Cup friendly against Atalanta at the London Bowl this afternoon, you may well be able to see it on line instead.

This facility, which we are yet to confirm is available via Bet 365, the only snag being you need to have an 'active' account with them, essentially if you don't have an account, you have to open one with a £5 minimum deposit....this is NOT an advertorial or 'sponsored' link.

If you look around, there are probably 'new user' deals available for Bet 365 whereby you put £10 in and get a bunch of free bets, usually loaded in order that you have to spend any of your 'winning' several times before you can actually withdraw the funds!

That said, Ed Jnr opened an account a couple of years ago via a promotion, choosing to only bet on 'wild cards', as a result he as tripled his original £10 AND accessed the £50 that he originally won! We don't however recommend opening an account if you have any gambling issues, we just want to point the way for fans to see the game without charge and legally.

We were waiting for confirmation from Bet 365's head office regarding the stream and hoped to provide an update as soon as possible, but their response was vague, so we are not sure if you need to use a VPN connection. Tech head Org member Scotto assures us it will indeed be possible to see the live stream on Bet 365, but the only way of knowing is by selecting their in play link, hopefully a live stream of the match will appear on their website at 14:555 Hrs, if not there will only be a simulcast update of the match events. - Ed

Players To Fill The Void

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Sat, 07/08/2021 - 08:21

Hammers have, according to the media, tabled a plethora of bids for defenders from across Europe during the last few days, the club having apparently tabled enough bids to open an outdoor restaurant! It really has become a case of journalists looking at who is vaguely available and then associating them with a club that is desperate to make signings, it makes for easy copy.

The PAI(n) public spat, has inadvertently taken the focus off the club's need for new players, by focusing the attention of disenfranchised fans on the club's need for new owners! Here's a list of SOME of the players David Moyes has at his disposal that he could deploy.

Conor Coventry cdm
West Ham have pulled the plug on Conor Coventry leaving on loan this season, Peterborough United made a move to sign the 21-year-old and David Moyes was willing to let him go ahead of the new Championship season, however the Hammers manager has rightly changed his mind and decided to retain Coventry to bulk up a midfield that relies solely on Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek remaining injury free, the only other back up being veteran Mark Noble.

Emmanuel Longelo. l/b

That’s after the highly-rated left full-back scored two exquisite, top-corner free-kicks for West Ham’s Under 23s in a 3-0 win over Birmingham on Friday. Longelo, who has been converted into a left-back cum left wingback from a striker in West Ham’s academy, stole the show.
Coventry and Longelo could join

Frederik Alves c/b

Ben Johnson r/l/b

Both of whom have already been promoted to the 1st team squad, and they could be joined by players from the Youth team, including

Aji Alese, c/d

Jamal Baptiste cdm

Armstrong Okoflex. winger

Thierry Nevers forward

Of course there is still a massive need for a couple of 'experienced' players to be added, but the club do have an exceptional crop of youngsters coming through, in fact there are some people close to the club suggesting this is the best crop of youngsters since Joe Cole and Frank Lampard Jnr! - Ed

Messi

Getting away from our non transfers i just need to get this off of my chest.

Messi is said to be in shock that the club he loves and wants to play for have had to let him go for financial reasons his father who is also his agent can't believe it either.

Well Mr Messi how about you taking a pay cut or even play just for a nominal fee? i mean you can't and wont ever be wanting for money ever again and your family well looked after for life but i have a feeling you wont.

We all work to make ourselves hopefully finacially secure in later life but people like this make me laugh and i am afraid it is just pure greed.

In shock him and his father maybe but when the next big paycheque comes in i am sure they will get over it.

Right Place-Wrong Time PAI

PAI's interest in buying West Ham owners out of the club has garnered more than a few headlines in the last few days, most of them 'divisive', there is nothing the media and opposition fans love more than to see a club in conflict, especially just ahead of a new season, especially if the club is West Ham!

The club has always received a disproportionate amount of media coverage, but the PAI(n)ful headlines currently doing the rounds don't seem to be doing either party a whole lot of good. On the one hand, David Sullivan emerges as a greedy dog in the manger who will retain his holding no matter what, irrespective of the consequences, whereas PAI have emerged as an outfit lacking gravitas and credibility.

The fact that the 'battle' is being fought out in full view of the media is unusual, these type of negotiations are generally held behind closed doors, at least until there is something tangible to announce. Perhaps this is David Sullivan's 'exposure hit'?, the Hammers majority share holder has been forced to keep in the back ground by David Moyes, as has David Gold, and up until this recent 'spat' they were relatively anonymous, especially compared to when they were on full chaff, with David Gold tweeting like there no budgies left!

Well, Mr Sullivan is bang in the media's cross-hairs now, as are PAI, but neither in our opinion has emerged 'smelling of Roses'. Sullivan appears even more recalcitrant and PAI look like a quickly thrown together outfit that lacks depth and historical accountability, especially with regards to the take over of one of the 'biggest clubs' in world football, yes really!

One has to question the timing of the proposed take over bid, it was too late to affect the club's player acquisitions for the impending Barclays Premier League season and too early to gain from the season's momentum if there is any, which is currently doubtful.

Playing the situation out in public is akin to washing your dirty laundry in full view, some might like doing so, they are called EXHIBITIONIST'S! It appears that is the one thing the hierarchy of both outfits have in common, the need for attention.

With the club in the hands of Exhibitionists AND Narcissists, how can it possibly go wrong? PAI's bid for West Ham is in the right place, but at the wrong time and can only serve to exasperate the club's current problems. - Ed

Serb To Join Czech Mates

nevillenixon's picture
Submitted by nevillenixon on Fri, 06/08/2021 - 10:22

The deeply hoped for arrival of Hammers 2nd 'proper' signing, Nikola Milenkovic, has been made more possible by the fact that the Serbian gets on famously with Hammers Czech Republic contingent of Tomas Soucek and Vlad 'the impaler' Coufal.

Normally clubs are wary of signing players from neighbouring eastern European countries, due to traditional tensions that date right back to the beginning of the first world war! Fortunately no such tensions exist between Serbia and the Czech Republic, very recently the leaders of both countries met and confirmed their excellent relationship.

Although it is not done and dusted yet, the potential acquisition of 23 year old Milenkovic from Fiorentia is a major coup for West Ham, and hopefully a portent of the type of signing David Moyes is pursuing, young, hungry and lean. Tales of rumoured 'interest' in Gary Cahill and others have had some fans shrieking, while others have chosen to bury their heads in the sand as the transfer window draws inexorably nearer to closing.

https://www.srbija.gov.rs/vest/en/167535/excellent-political-economic-re...

Although principally a centre back, Milenkovic is also an adept right back, a quality that won't have been missed by David Moyes, and standing at a tad under 6'4" would obviously a superb addition to Hammers already potent dead ball strike force that topped the Barclays Premier League in such situations.

Of course Tottenham or several other clubs might try to 'snipe' the deal, and even though they don't really need the player, don't put it past Aston Villa from putting a bid in! If Milenkovic CAN follow Areola to the London Bowl, then 40% of David Moyes's recruitment drive will have been met, leaving just the small matter of an additional left back, a midfield enforcer and then the 'Mammoth' in the room, a 'proper' striker! - Ed

Villa Cash Threatens Tammy Deal

nevillenixon's picture
Submitted by nevillenixon on Fri, 06/08/2021 - 08:47

Just when you thought things couldn't get much worse for West Ham's transfer aspirations, another unwelcome competitor for the club's targets have just been handed enough money to 'blow any Hammers' bids clean out the water. Barclays Premier League rivals Aston Villa's sale of Jack Grealish for an eye watering British record £100 Million to Manchester City, has put them firmly in the driving seat for any transfer target they wish to aim for.

Of course it's not all doom and gloom for David Moyes, you would expect any club that has received such a windfall to go out and spend, spend, spend! If West Ham had sold their prized asset, Declan Rice, then the East Londoners would go on a similar 'splurge', much like dear old 'Arrry' Redknapp did with the proceeds from the Rio Ferdinand to Leeds sale.

When Redknapp was suddenly given a whole load of money to spend, he did so unwisely, such 'luminaries as Rigobert Song, Florin Raducioiu, Davor Šuker and Titi Camara arrived at the Boleyn, all on massive wages and all totally useless! 'H' had been used to a 'cash lite' budget, when he could suddenly afford to dine at the top table he was like a fish out of water!

Dean Smith comes across as a very 'stable' manager, but he will also experience 'cash richness' for the first time in his managerial career. The old expression says "any fool can spend money, only a wise man knows how to keep it", however while that applies in 'normal' life, it does NOT apply to the world of professional football!

It should be remembered that Villa have just 'sold the family silver, and as such their fans will have a 'blood-lust' for new signings, irrespective of who they are! It is human nature, so having seen West Ham miss out on the Champions League by just 2 points it is human nature to expect the club to push on'

Of course there is still plenty of time to go before the transfer window shuts, the fact that the domestic season will have started before the window closes is counter-intuitive, but it is what it is. IF Hammers manage to retain Declan Rice's services, as it appears to have done, then the club can move forward, a couple of astute signings would 'silence the natives' and the club can move forward from a position of strength, as opposed to rebuilding to attain a position of strength.

The only real negative regarding Villa's sudden cash influx is that targets like Jesse Lingard and Tammy Abraham are more likely to end up at Villa Park than at the Bowl of London, however there are only a certain amount of players Smith can sign without destabilising the unit he has in place.

This is Villa's moment in the Sun, (not the crap red top) so they would expect to push on to greater things, they are about to find out how difficult it is to actually spend money, wisely. Everyone and his Aunt will know that Villa have bulging pockets as a result of the Grealish sale, and will hike their prices accordingly.

Spend to mend will be the Birmingham based club's motto, after all, they are about to face their '2nd season syndrome' in the top flight, so lofty aspirations may well give way to pragmatic survival hopes! - Ed

Tale Of 2 Very Different 9 Irons Aims

nevillenixon's picture
Submitted by nevillenixon on Thu, 05/08/2021 - 18:12

The chances of Hammers signing Jesse Lingard are rated at less than 10%, according to club sources, or is it according to Ex-Employee?, it is hard to tell sometimes, with no disrespect intended. The story makes grim reading, but was perhaps inevitable given West Ham's lack of funds and Manchester United's desire to either get top dollar for their player or retain him, at least until January, by which time Marcus Rashford will have returned from the shoulder operation that will keep him sidelined for up to 12 weeks.

So with Lingard looking a forlorn hope, attention turned to West Brom's Matheus Perreira, another talented midfield creator and goal scorer, at three years younger, many argued that Perreira would actually be a better option. The Baggies new manager had made it clear, for whatever reason he chose, to inform Perreira that he would not feature in his plans and was free to leave, SHOULD the correct offer be received.

West Brom value Perreira as high as £30 Million and are currently unwilling to accept any less, as is their right, they would probably 'negotiate' should a club show 'real' interest that begins to match their valuation. The player's situation destabilised after he took to the dreaded social media, in a fit of pique, to publicly state that he had received a 'life changing offer' from a club in the middle east and that his situation at the Hawthorns had become untenable.

Couple of school boy errors there by the player, firstly he is contracted to West Brom, secondly by 'going public' he risks serious sanctions against his potential suitors for 'tapping him up'! How stupid can you get? Al Hilal have apparently 'only' offered the Baggies £17 Million, way short of what the midlands club expects, the absolute lowest fee they would accept would be in the region of £25 Million.

The proposed deal has 'legs' to it because Al Hilal have offered Perreira £130,000 per week to join them, probably with most of the wages being paid tax free, a 'life changing' offer. So, Jesse Lingard chooses to stay at the club where he as been most of his life, despite knowing that even if he is in the starting line up at the beginning of the season, it is highly unlikely it will end that way.

That is Lingard's choice and fair play to him, however misguided that decision may prove to be eventually. He has chosen to fight for his place, believing his time at West Ham proved what a really good player he is and that he can be for Manchester United.

Perreira has been offered a big pay day and is willing to accept it knowing full well that he will not be playing at the highest level and will not reach the heights he was once destined for. It's easy to judge, but not so easy to jury! He obviously has made his choice and wants to pursue getting as much money, as quickly as he can, in order to look after his 'extended' family and there's nothing wrong with that. However the way the player has gone about his business is unforgivable, his actions have devalued his market value if, as has been mooted West Brom play hard ball and refuse to let the player leave until their valuation is met, apparently they are prepared to sit him in the reserves for a while to let him cool his heels.

Perriera will probably get his way eventually, it is an unfortunate aspect of the modern 'player power' game. We would suggest that West Ham have dodged a bullet by not signing Perreira, he is the exact polar opposite to Lingard and we know who we would want out of the two standing next to us in the metaphorical trenches! -Ed

PAI Pull A Switcheroo!

nevillenixon's picture
Submitted by nevillenixon on Thu, 05/08/2021 - 16:44

If you can't join them, beat them seems to be the order of the day for potential West Ham buy out group PAI. Having had their 1st offer firmly rebuffed by David Sullivan, the investment group vowed not to give up in their pursuit and have just fired their 2nd shot across the bows by doing a bit of a 'switcheroo'. A term usually associated with Formula 1 driving, but one that ideally describes PAI's actions by going public with the next part of their PR exercise, one that shows a complete change of tack.

By 'going behind the club's back', the suitors have been able to beat a clear path to the LLDC, an organisation that is incredibly desperate to get rid of their embarrassing White Elephant and would negotiate with Beelzebub himself in order to get shot of their financial millstone.

By negotiating with the LLDC, the PAI group hope to short circuit the situation by offering live money for dead assets, an accountants dream! In doing so they hope to put Hammers current owners on to the back foot, but they must be aware that the 'rental deal' done by Lady Brady is pretty airtight and as such cannot be undone.

By providing what is known as 'value added' in accountancy terms to the LLDC, they will hope to garner favour for their redevelopment proposals, some of which include upmarket real estate developments which we be an essential part of their business plan.

Below is a cut and paste of their statement, one point a reader just mentioned to us is "what are PAI going to do with the massive great beach ball that the LLDC have approved, a structure that will blight the skyline and dwarf all the other buildings?" It could be one of the many questions they will have to field if their bid is to progress further, it will be a rocky road.

You can guarantee that PAI's statement will be dissected by the West Ham PR machine, they will say there is no real substance to the statement and dismiss it as no more than people trying to take a financial punt claiming to be fans, sounds familiar? - Ed

Strike(r) Light Part Deux

nevillenixon's picture
Submitted by nevillenixon on Thu, 05/08/2021 - 11:08

Following on from our first Strike(r) Light article, the next 'realistic' possibility is Bournemouth's Arnaut Danjuma. The young striker was in fine form for the Cherries last season as they fell just short of getting promoted back to the Barclays Premier League at the first attempt.

Those who question the wisdom of dipping down to the lower leagues for players should perhaps take a reality check, in case you have been in a coma, Hammers are dead broke and will struggle to meet the transfer fees and wages of 'ideal' targets, Consequently recruitment needs to be creative, which can lead to risk taking.

Considering some of the club's previous signings pre-Moyes, buying Armstrong is a no brainer, his value is more than likely sure to go up, if not it won't go down noticeably. Armstrong may look 35, but he is actually only 25 years old and in his prime, with a good few years left in the tank.

Southampton, flush with their Ings' cash, are also said to be interested, however the lure of the big city and the incentive of European football, makes West Ham a slightly more attractive proposition than the South Coast outfit. If Hammers do want to pursue the signing of Armstrong, they had better get a move on as the game of transfer 'musical chairs' plays out.

Should the pursuit of Armstrong go the way of all Hammers other efforts, then the signing of a player like Arnaut Danjuma seems to make more and more sense, at least he is not old, he actually fits Moyes' young, hungry and keen template and would not cost the earth, however new Bournemouth manager, ex-Hammer Scott Parker might have other ideas, although he is operating under severe financial restrictions as well!

Being left without an additional striker other than just Michail Antonio would be a disaster and put the kibosh on any hopes of success this time out, we understand there is no money, but surely the piggy banks can rattled to at least give David Moyes a slight chance for the new season.

It has been suggested that David Moyes is keeping the money required for the new striker in reserve for his final tilt at getting Tammy Abraham, but what if it all goes belly up? Where will the club be? There has to be a plan B, a plan C or even a plan D in place surely?

Armstrong and Danjuma are real, in this country and are available, no smoke and mirrors, perhaps not very exotic, but then we have seen the cost of bringing in 'luxury' 'exotic' players and are still paying for it! - Ed

Strike-r Light!

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Thu, 05/08/2021 - 09:20

The news that Hammers have switched their attention from signing Chelsea's Kurt Zouma to that of Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic, has been greeted with some enthusiasm given the player's status, experience and youthfulness. So well done to the recruiting team if Milenkovic does indeed end up at the London Stadium.

Unfortunately the Elephant in the room, the desperate need for an out and out striker, is transmogrifying into a Mammoth! Everyday a 'target' disappears, with Danny Ings being the latest in a long line of probables that then became possibles, before finally becoming impossibles!

Only an absolute fool could think that Michail Antonio's hamstrings will allow him to play more than 50% of this season's Barclays Premier League games, let alone the Europa League and the two Domestic cup competitions! It should also be remembered that Antonio isn't actually a striker, he is a converted winger who has played virtually every position except for that of goalkeeper during his tenure at West Ham since joining from Nottingham Forest.

We thought we would begin examining who is actually left available to sign AND who the club can actually afford! The one target that sticks out head and shoulders above the rest is, Blackburn's Adam Armstrong. The 24 year old is a natural born striker who will more than likely be able to make the leap from Championship to Premier league level relatively quickly.

Armstrong won't come cheap, but a 'structured' payment plan might do the trick. Realistically Armstrong represents the top of the pile that still exists, with the possible exception of Tammy Abraham, unfortunately Tammy seems to be 'doing a Zouma' and therefore cannot be considered as a viable option, much to the chagrin of Hammers fans.

Things are what they are, so any reinforcements will be more than welcome at the London Stadium with such a short time to go before the start of the new season...'in Moyes we trust' is the go to motto regarding Hammers transfers, but then the passengers trusted the Captain of the Titanic, and that didn't end well did it? - Ed
