We have heard via an old local radio Pal, that there has been a 'peer' representation made to David Moyes led by none other than club captain Mark Noble regarding the first team future of Hammers star in the making Grady Diangana. Quite rightly the Hammers squad clearly recognise in the deft of foot winger the qualities that other teams, not least of which being West Brom who he helped get promoted while on loan there, covet, and see no reason at all why he shouldn't not only step up in to the first team, but actually be in the starting line up for the season's opener against Newcastle on September the 12th at the London Stadium.
Rumours had been circulating that Grady Diangana was only prepared to stay at the club if he was guaranteed playing time, that was never going to happen with a 'self confessed control freak' in the form of David Moyes being in managerial control. However all was not lost, and the 'positive' messages emerging from Diangana in the last 24 Hrs seem to affirm that he has been given certain reassurances as to whether he will be given the chance to feature prominently this season.
Obviously David Moyes cannot come out and make a statement that confirms Grady Diangana's place in the starting line up, and it should be remembered that there are one or two very expensive players who can play the same position, however he seems to have the key that can unlock the 'vast reservoir of talent that Sebastien Haller does possess if only it can be unleashed.
If the Duo can click in the Barclays Premier League, then David Moyes' team might surprise the opposition, and Diangana should be part of that package, the players think so! - Ed
There tends to be so much doom and gloom surrounding West Ham United these days, especially as the realisation that the much maligned co-owners spent way past their reserves and more some, resulting in a transfer budget of a fat zero! However if you scratch beneath the surface, the actual Hammers squad is the envy of many other teams who 'covet' several of it's players.
To see the Hammers' 'parralell universe' A+B Teams perform yesterday, albeit in friendlies, one could be forgiven for thinking things aren't as bad as people are making out, apart form the glaring need for two additional full backs the rest of the squad looked good. Furthermore the squad looked 'content', it might have had something to do with them being given 'direction' by a David Moyes' back room staffing team who know what's what, a glance at this image of 'the Lads' is what players will see, on a good day!
It is hard to imagine how intimidating, but also how inspiring 'The Reservoir Hogs' can be from the touch line, one in particular being Mr Stuart Pearce, the epitome of 'gentleness'.
The Reservoir Hogs
From a fans point of view, a potential front four of Grady Diangana, Sebastien Haller, Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen is enough to get the juices flowing, and why shouldn't they? The main complaint about the previous managerial regime was it's complete inflexibility compounded by fitness levels that were acutely embarrassing, that has all changed now and long may it continue.
One further point that may have gone unnoticed with regards to future squad development, is that David Moyes retained one Spanish speaking member of staff from the previous 'support' team in order to help facilitate accurate communication with the Iron's Latin American players, it's a simple idea but one that will help the squad's transition from bloated overpaid prima dona's into a lean mean fighting machine. - Ed
So, all this talk of signing the likes of Stones, Duffy, Eze etc is complete nonsense. Today, Messi has handed in a transfer request at Barcelona after having his head turned by the lure of working under David Moyes. Apparently Moyes was so impressive during his time at Real Sociedad, that Messi just cant wait to be a part of his dazzling brand of football.
I fear this season we will finally fall through the Premier League trap door & into Championship oblivion. Any further signings made will be last ditch deadline day dross. Last season proved the calibre of most of the players at West Ham are simply not good enough. In the 2 signings Moyes has made Bowen & Soucek they have certainly improved the squad. But reckless spending in the Pellegrini era have left us with our back to the walls. At present we are being linked with players like Shane Duffy from Brighton. Not a player who will improve us especially if Diop is to be sacrificed as reported. I thought young Eze at QPR would have been a shoe in but somehow Crystal Palace are in a better position than us. This player is a player we have been linked with for a while & would have been a great compliment to Bowen on the left. Why we allowed Fulham to land Antonee Robinson from Wigan for £1.9m is staggering. Another player which certainly fits Moyes plan going forward. Unless we can move the underperforming overpaid alleged superstars on, someone needs to get a tune out of them. If our plan is for Antonio to lead the attack we are doomed. He is one stretch away from weeks/months out.
With the first 6 games we have we could be down by October. Confidence shred to pieces. Below average squad. The club need to back Moyes & stick with him. I believe we could end up with the Everton Moyes if he is given a chance.
Before fans get too carried away by the results of today's unique tandem West Ham United friendlies, it should be remembered that the last time the club trounced all opposition before the start of a season the team ended up getting relegated. That said, it would be hard not to admit the joy of watching not one but two excelllent performances at the same time! Feeling a little bit like David Bowie in Nick Roeg's 'The Man Who Fell To Earth' in the scene where he is watching mulitple screens at the same time, it was most encouraging to see some of the club's 'young 'uns' strutting their stuff.
Probably the most signiicant benefit to take from the games was the re-emergence of Sebastien Halller aided by his 'new chum' Grady Diangana, the young winger, fresh from helping West Brom get promoted, provided the assist for ALL three of Haller's finely taken goals, all of which were scored from well within the penalty area, he is most definitely NOT a man to score from outside the box, but he is lethal within it if given the service, and in Grady Diangana he has that in abundance and more.
They were only friendlies, but beating Wycombe 5-1 and Ipsdwich 4-1 respectively is nothing to be sniffed at, unfortunately the Irons lack of strength in the full back area was again highlighted, and with better opposition the results could have been totally different. The friendlies come thick and fast ahead of the season restart, the shoots of growth are there, and it seems that David Moyes and the rest of the 'enforcement team' of trainers are getting their message across about tracking back and showing willing off the ball, even 'flying shorts' Anderson put in a shift!
With the exception of the need for fullbacks, perhaps this 'no money for transfers'isn't such a bad thing after all? - Ed
West Ham United take on Ipswich and Wycombe in a unique double header set of friendlies this tuesday afternoon at 2PM BST, information about the line ups is vague at the moment, but we shall endevour to upload when they are fully available, although given these games are being played in the strangest of circumstances errors will occur. The Ipswich match costs a tenner to watch vi Ipswich's media streaming platform whereas the Wycombe match is being streamed free of charge.
Ipswich: Holy, Donacien, Chambers, Nsiala, Ward, Dozzell, Downes, Bishop, Sears, Drinan, Edwards. Subs: Cornell, Ndaba, Huws, Nolan, Judge, El Mizouni, Folami, Smith.
West Ham: Randolph, Coventry, Cresswell, Balbuena, Alese, Soucek, Yarmolenko, Anderson, Haller, Wilshere, Diangana. Subs: *Roberto, Cardoso, Lewis, Kemp, Odubeko. * Yes that is the same Roberto who nearly got the club relegated on his own!

West Ham: Martin, Lanzini, Baptiste, Noble, Bowen, Fornals, Ogbonna, Masuaku, Antonio, Johnson, Cullen. Subs: Anang, Akinola, Adarkwa, Longelo, Silva, Rosa.

Went on a West Ham site they have the match K.O at 12.00 go on the Evening Standard site they say Wycome wanders and Ipswich Town K.o simultaneously at 2pm go on the West ham official site and they got F$*k all. Go on the Ipswitch site they tell you it's on the official Ipswich site for £10 but you cant get on it cos you gotta sign in. It is about time WHU started respecting their fans in this current climate and give them information on the friendly games and streamed these matches for their fans or should i say, customers! They're fast enough to keep asking if you want to renew your season ticket but when it comes to looking after their fans the board show their true colours the fans are just cash cows we have the same thing in FA cup they should get their act together. Or dont they really care???
West Ham United do like a protracted transfer situation, it is one of the reasons the Press adores the club, never a dull moment and always good for a 'throw away' line. Think of some of the past seasons' transfer fiascos, Gomez, Bacca etc, so any attempted deal to bring QPR's Eze Eberechi to the London Stadium was always going to be drawn out, and thus it appears.
The proposed and desired on off move has been subject to an awful lot of media attention, who have speculated three different destinations for the talented 22 year old Eberechi, this is just what QPR wanted with London clubs Crystal Palace and newly promoted Fulham vying with West Ham for the players signature.
Initially it seemed as if Hammers had the edge over the competition based on the fact that Jordan Hugill had been on a successful loan spell at Loftus Road, it was thought he could be used as a makeweight in the deal which would have left Hammers with possibly an extra £10 Million to pay. Unfortunately as often happens in these situations, prior wage agreements can become stumbling blocks and that was the case with Jordan Hugill, his £38,000 wages were just too rich for QPR to facilitate, whereas his final destination newly relegated Norwich City, with their 'parachute' payments, were happy to stump up the cash.
It is now being suggested that QPR 'covet' Josh Cullen who enjoyed a relatively successful spell on loan at Charlton, his wages are not such an issue and he could possibly be the ideal player to use in part exchange for Eze Eberechi. Cullen is 24 years old and realistically has a horde of talented players ahead of him in the pecking order at West Ham, so a move would suit the Republic of Ireland player and the West London outfit. The clincher is that Cullen is currently only receiving £10,000 per week, which is less than 1/3 of what Hugill was receiving so a deal might yet still happen, although it is becoming increasingly obvious that the Irons are now having to pay for the 'Pelligrinophile's' profligacy' which involves having to stand by and watch teams like Villa, Watford and Leeds blow the club out of the water when it comes to bidding for players that become available.
As with many aspects of life, sometimes things have to get a lot worse before they can get better, hopefully West Ham's ill fortune and propensity for making costly mistakes has bottomed out and the club can move forward, albeit with an insanely low, bordering on non existent, transfer budget. - Ed
