In the past and some would say probably in the future, West Ham United transfer activity has been played out in the media with a distinct 'groundhog' day feel to it and all it's surrounding shenanigans. Smoke and mirrors have provided the back drop to the 'could have, should have and would have' declarations about potential targets with 'apparent' interest in just about every top player there is, only for the club to 'pipped at the post' by a club offering realistic terms instead of bargain basement insult deals.

Reece Oxford could be returning to Germany at the beginning of the season, but this time on a permanent basis with Borussia Monchengladbach defender Jannik Vestergaard moving in the opposite direction. The 6'5'' Dane has attracted interest from both Everton and Southampton, and at 25 years of age is in his prime. Vestergaard appeared 34 times across all competitions scoring three goals in the process for Monchengladbach, but was unable to get in to the Danish national team at the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Greedy, out of touch and unswayable are terms usually reserved for the West Ham United hierarchy by fans, however the powers that be at Lazio have taken the elements of greed and stupidity to new heights by continually moving the goal posts over the Felipe Anderson deal.
