Return Of Defoe Gathers Momentum

The old adage of there being no smoke without fire might be applied to the increasing speculation that 34 year old striker Jermaine Defoe could return to West Ham United, a club who many believed that he let down badly by 'jumping ship' following relegation many many years ago. If Defoe did leave Sunderland, where he is captain and their main hope of Barclays Premier League survival, then he would be held with vitriol to a new dimension! So is it all agent talk?

It may not have been the season everyone had been hoping for or expecting, but with the assistance of the 'wooden' twelfth man and a lot of lady luck recently, West Ham United find themselves in a relatively comfortable Barclays Premier League position, had it not been for seven points in three games within such a short space of time feelings might not be so optimistic! Admittedly Slaven Billic has had to deal with an 'arsenalesque' amount of injuries, but he has also had to contend with some dubious signings, some of his own volition.
