OMG!! Another one?? Who is £14m Striker we've been linked with?? So will this be the 57th or the 75th we're going to sign?? The club is a joke, all the attacking talent and we're F--king 14th?? News of Kudus being up for grabs at £100m, Really?? Füllkrug whingeing to the gutter press about how he's feeling let down, Yeah Well, so are we!.
After all we paid £31m for you, You're 31yrs old, You're Slow, you miss a penalty in preseason, and miss an open goal with a header after spending 2 months on the injury table. Hmmm, meanwhile we send a youngster sorry a Northern Ireland International squad, youngster on loan to a Division One side, and he's getting in their squad every week, yet we start looking at other strikers who we don't even know will score goals.
At least young Callum is playing against seasoned pro's and alright he's not prolific but he's already proved he's better than Mubama. Plus why are we looking to spend more money on Yet another, err 76th Striker; in the Odious Little Spiv Dwarf Gobshite Sullivan's tenure. Just FFS give Marshall a run out, call him back from Huddersfield. Save the money because we don't even know if Lopetegui will still be our coach come end of January.
Got that off your chest Gravs
At the game yesterday everyone was talking about needing a mobile striker and a younger less injury prone one as well but the biggest question is who finds him and buys him? if as mentioned Loppy is on the edge of the sack every few games you cannot buy someone who will fit his system and style of play(whatever that is)so you say it is up to Tim but how can he again purchase somebody when you have no clue if the new manager would want/use them because of there style of play so then that leaves us with our lovely owner who loves getting a striker in out of the blue usually one nobody has heard of but his friend Salthouse has told him he is brilliant so he must be good!.
As for young Marshall i think he is better off where he is right now as the atmosphere in and around the squad is not a good one and the young man does not need that kind of grief as well as the pressure of playing and having to score it is sad but sadly that is the truth so let us see where the money will go and that is usually down the drain.
Shades of Freddie Sears to Divin Mubama here
Looking at our youths through Claret and Blue tinted glasses. Truth is I find it a tad embarrassing when the TV cameras follow the players out over the words Academy of Football because lets face it, as an Academy its a bit of a deluded reference to history when we really did churn out top class footballers who go on to be a high success in the game.
Declan Rice apart, nobody has really set the world on fire from this "Academy" since about '98 with the likes of Joe Cole, Rio, Lampard Jnr and Defoe came in and pissed off as soon as the going got tough.
Yeah we had James Tomkins who stuck around for a while, never really an earth shaking player really, I was never a fan of his if I'm honest, but Tomkins apart, I could run a list as long as my arm of youngsters who've come through and made first team appearances and disappeared without trace to the lower echelons of the game.
Its a sign of the times in my opinion, hence the influx of foreign, certainly African players who have a genuine hunger to succeed at football. When I was a kid, I can't recall going anywhere without a ball at my feet and joining in mass 20 a side games down the local parks if not actually playing junior league football. You don't see kids playing football anywhere nowadays. If they're not sat at home on a Playstation playing FIFA whatever its called, they're more than likely out smashing shop windows or bus shelters.
Let's take those coloured glasses off, The Academy is no more, certainly since Tony Carr left anyway and Callum won't crack it in the Premier League.
