Not much on the telly over easter,so i thought id do a bit of telly catch up.Just watched a documentary about the heavyweight boxer anthony joshua. Now i knew he won the olympic gold at 2012 olympics, but i havnt taken much notice of his career to date for 2 reasons- (1) the heavyweight division has been pretty stale for a long time.(2) the characters have gone out of the sport a bit also imo.Though after watching the program i reckon (& so do a lot of boxing pundits) he is defo going to be world champ one day!Hes only 25 but what power hes got in a punch! Also a really nice guy, confident but humble too,i was really impressed! He had 10 knockouts out of 10 professional fights up to november 2014 when he had a back injury, but he had his comeback at the weekend & lo & behold its now 11 knockouts from 11!!Watch out for this guy- the next british heavyweight champion of the world in the future...
Totally different class to
Totally different class to Gavern. Kevin Johnson has never been stopped, so should provide a much sterner test, though has lost his last 3 so hope he's not just after a few money fights before he retires. If he can stop this guy I'll start to get excited :-)
I know
Its a bold statement to say hes gonna be next world champion, but hes got everything this fella. He reminds me (dare i say it of tyson) in his younger days, absolutely fearless & powerful. The difference hopefully, is that tyson had a bad attitude whereas joshua seems a lot more grounded & stable!
Heavyweight Division is crap!
but Joshua is a good fighter that will go on to be a World Champion as he is heavily backed and subsequently very dedicated.
