West Ham made tentative steps back in the last transfer window to sign Italian striker Andrea Belotti, his exploits during the recent Euros highlighted what a gifted player the 27 year old is. His season has not got of to the best of starts at Torino as he is currently sidelined with a tendon injury that has kept him out for the last six games and seen him omitted from the Italian national team, there are some who say Italy's unbeaten record would still be intact had he been available for the game against Spain in the nation's league semi final.

Valued at over £30 Million last season, Andrea Belotti’s has plummeted for Torino because of the player's current contract expiring in June 2022, making him a free agent. Torino president Cairo has said: “I made a huge contract proposal but I can’t force Belotti to accept. He has not signed the new contract we have offered him and I feel he has no intention to do it”.

As with everywhere else, money is tight at Torino, who as a club are resigned to losing their best talent on a regular basis in order to balance their books. Belotti is Torino's highest paid player, receiving £68,000 per week and would be looking for a significant increase, but in Barclays Premier League terms his wages shouldn't prove to be a major stumbling block.

As with all transfers there are caveats attached to any deal, but aside from greedy agents there is a more troubling presence on the horizon in the form of Newcastle United's new found wealth. It may have come from modern age slave traders, but most Irons fans would turn a blind eye in similar circumstances. Whatever your thoughts are on the moral aspect, the grim reality is that Newcastle NOW have the power to 'blow away' any other club in THE WORLD clean out of the water financially.

It could be worse though, the money could have gone to Tottingham and let's hope that players like Belotti are considered too low profile for the Toon's ambitious new owners! - LN

Oi big boy, what's your name?

Get him to sign a pre contract agreement ASAP. By the way gents, just watching ECU vs Bol and Enna Valencia has just become the highest scorer for Ecuador in internationals, always liked him.
