How Long Has This Been Going ON?

How Long Has This Been Going ON? No not a song from one hit wonders ACE about a band member moonlighting with another bands, but a reference to Hammers appalling run of form!

One point from the last seven games and a drop into the relegation zone ahead of a crucial meeting with David Moyes' former club Everton, who are below the Hammers on goal difference, is a scenario many never thought possible.

Unfortunately the recent sequence of results are merely a culmination of months and months of accumulative poor performances that have now manifested themselves.

The direction of where to point the finger of blame defaults to the manager, after all it is his job to get HIS players to perform on the pitch, that is what he is paid for isn't it? Perhaps it is an over simplification but it appears Moyes has become out of touch with the 'NOW' and much like 'Harry Ptter' at Chelsea has been found out.

Playing out from the back, in Hammers' case invariably down the left flank, has become passe as teams have 'found out' those who play that way without a plan 'B' to go to. The fast counter attack style that West Ham championed for a couple of seasons was ironically highlighted and praised to such a degree by the media that the spotlight shone bright enough to show up the potential pitfalls such a style had, and so it has proved!

Having been 'found out' on a regular basis IT WAS ASSUMED THAT MOYES WOULD CHANGE, unfortunately he hasn't, believing that what served the club so well for a couple of years would be good enough to keep their forward momentum going.

Moyes has reportedly been given various deadlines, but defeat against Everton next week will surely see the rug pulled from beneath his feet. A 65,000 capacity stadium hosting Championship football would be an anathema for even the most loyal of boards, perhaps the players might even subconsciously want to lose the game in order for Moyes to go, Big Mikey Antonio surely thinks that way.

Of course the next game will be the first at home since the passing of David Gold so any Moyes animosity will be put on the back burner as fans give Gold a fitting send off, but after that the gloves WILL be off and we at the Org don't expect Moyes to be in place for the next Premier League game against Newcastle away on the 4th of February. - Ed

Even if we get something out of the Everton game, what chance have we got against the teams mentioned above? It's not just moyes but the players he picks! Time is running out for a new manager to come in & sort this mess out,I fear for our club

Results have been awful for nearly a season , using the excuse of introducing a lot new players that rarely ever play anyway as most sit on the bench or have been injured doesn’t cut it anymore, just look at Cooper at Forest , he’s managed to do it introducing a lot more players.
We need a young spunker of a manager with fresh modern ideas but it must happen now so he can bring in a couple of players with him !!!
We are going down if we continue to do nothing

Nev is right. There will be a change, but not before we play Everton. As David Gold's send off will not be interrupted or compromised.

The club does have ethics and the "old school" values will be upheld.

But in the greater scheme of things Moyes is something of a dinosaur. Certainly in the modern day Premier League. Notwithstanding for years Everton were our bogey team and the sight of Fat Frank on site will only ignite a blood sweat and tears encounter. Especially as Moyes will want to get one over on his old club.

We may well win. We may well lose. But whatever happens Moyes will be gone post haste, that is a racing certainty. Who replaces him? Answers on a postcard!!

How all the armchair fans can see whats wrong, yet someone with as much experience as Moyes either can't or won't. Is he deliberately trying to be sacked with a nice little payoff? Is he sulking because of the clubs failure to attract Jesse LIngard full time, first time round? Because that is when the wheels seem to have fallen off.

We didn't start the fire it was always burning since the worlds been turning.....King/Paynter/Fenton/Greenwood/Lyall/Macari/Bonds/Redknapp/Roeder/Pardew/Curbishley/Zola/Grant/Allardyce/Bilic/Moyes/Pellegrini/Moyes..(Brooking interim)

Now i am sure those lyricists amongst you can revamp the lyrics to the song to fit all our managers etc.

What a painful season this has been so far, messed about with the crappy World Cup,then back to what we see as a disaster each week, with the Fa Cup,which would of been nice to win, thats not happening, then we still have Euro Conference hanging about, which in my opinion is nothing but a bind.In reality who is going to want to manage us,as there is a real certainty that we could still go down taking him with us.It may do us good, clear this lot out, start again.I WILL continue with my season ticket, but this is the worst season we have had for a few years,i havent enjoyed it at all,the club has slumped, seems to have lost all direction.....We need someone with experience of this sort of thing and guts to get us out of this, but who????

The wheels started to come of at ironically at Wolves last season. A week after Ogbonna was injured in the 3-2 win at home to Liverpool. We started putting the form after that down to squad depth but due to good fortune & other teams mis-givings we were able to take 7th place when top 3 was within our grasp.
This season has highlighted Moyes short comings. We are in a position at present where we could achieve relaive safety with a decent run as we are tightly bunched at the bottom. But Moyes needs to go asap. We can't afford to not win against Everton. Moyes has stiffled our youth. Ashby needs to be given a run at Right Back. But that would mean Moyes admiting he is wrong. So Moyes go. Go quickly. Take Cresswell, Coufal, Soucek & Antonio with you.

Totally agree about Ogbonna. He was rock solid at Centre Back until his severe injury. That is when I started to be really concerned about the defence. He is no longer the same defender that he once was. Pity about Aguerd and his bad injury as well before the start of this season. Unfortunately, with Zouma not available against Everton, it is another cause for concern.

But, yes the club cannot even retain their young talents. Sonny Perkins should have been used more often as he looks like he will be one of Leeds' future icon. To me Ashby should replace Soucek. Kehrer is a right back for Germany, so why play him at Centre Back and then Left Back. That seems to have disrupted his style of play. Cresswell needs to be benched and even Johnson can take that spot as he seems to defend more reliably.

We might have to face the awful realty that the board are prepared to go south if only for the big bucks relegated clubs get from sky ,i wouldnt put it past our board ,why else would they put up with a manager that is delusional. Anyway its far to late now what manager would come here now .

My choice, expect him to be fired soon. Chavski was never the right move for him... Horses for courses and I think he would fit in perfectly at the BoM

But theres no going back to The Bucket and Spades. He was brilliant for them, look at his track record against us! Horses for courses.. and we are typical of the sort club / size etc where he would be perfect. Chavski is a poisoned challis, no one fits there.

I would be happy with Potter. Chelsea was a bridge to far (no pun intended) He has a great eye for talent that would be more adept to us. Also is more attack minded.

"I'm a winner" applies to anyone, then Benitez tops Potter and Moyes all day long. People moan about Benitezs' style but it's not been a bundle of fun watching Moyes either. Potters football wasn't exactly easy on the eye either so be careful what you wish for. Wouldn't surprise me to see Sean Dyche creep in from the shadows if Moyes goes.

I mentioned about Potter in another forum chat last week on here,on giving some thought though, look at Brighton since he left they have got better!!!! Dyche is another Moyes, will dig in and may get us out,but wont get is anywhere long term, whoever comes has to face facts we may not be saved, and would be relegated with us,not many would want that,Dyche probably would.

I don’t want any of these old journeymen managers like we always go for, there must be a young manager that is working wonders somewhere that would die for a shot at the premier league , fresh ideas with a modern style of play is what we need now to take us forward

I was watching Wolves v Livepool tonight ,their new manager doesn't appear to be doin them any favours , Jesus they were dreadful couldnt get a goal if they won one in a raffle and they were the only ticket holder .
This time let's make sure ,I'm afraid English managers don't cut the mustard ,the continetals
Are by far the best option ,football has changed so much in the last 20 years .its imperative we make the right choice .

Not sure whether we are looking at the root cause of the team's somewhat dishevelled and at times clumsy giveaway style of play. How are they training the forwards / midfielders / wing backs to try and be on the same wave-length? Where is the energy from the forwards to try and put is some proper tackles and to defend effectively when possession is lost? However, the major disruption seems to be the manner in which the media and commentators only discuss about Rice and which club is he definitely heading to in the summer transfer window. That seems to have affected West Ham's team as a whole and their desire to be part of this club. We heard the same about Bowen last season, however he has lost the limelight as his performance has rapidly tanked this season. No doubt it has also left Moyes frustrated and undoubtedly he will reveal how this Rice distraction has affected the whole team mentally. The sooner that they get a new manager to bring some sort of belief in the squad the better it will be in the long run. Remember that Benitez failed at Everton and it is unlikely that he will have the ability to rejuvenate this squad. Unlikely that Pochettino or Ten Hag would show any interest in being appointed to steer a sinking ship. Sean Dyche would be a proper fit as he has the experience to push an average squad to perform above their capabilities like he did at Burnley with a limited budget. He would identify the new signings that would bring in some more energy into this team of fatigued players.

The only reason that Moyes would continue as a manager is the belief that West Ham can win the Conference Cup as well as avoid relegation. To the Board Management it would mean another season in Europe and new signings in the summer window!!

Have had 10 full time managers since Joe Royle won the FA Cup in 94/95 including Moyes. Don't recall any of them winning much either.

The Brentford or Brighton cup now mate! No disrespect to those teams but Bradys quote "a world class team in a world class stadium " is getting more hilarious as each week passes by
