Battered On Our Own Patch - West Ham 0-2 Brentford

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Mon, 20/10/2025 - 23:20

defeat. Was the closing caption West Ham used to describe the 2-0 loss to Brentford.

A fixture in which felt like a ‘six-pointer’ already and one in which the lineup summarised the entirety of the match, clueless, toothless and subsequently leading to the opposition being ruthless.

The first six minutes saw the Hammers fans gleam in excitement to see dreamy football laid upon their eyes, but the remaining 84 brought disappointment, lack of ambition, clueless in all thirds of the pitch, bar the opportunistic crosses which persistently felt bound to reach a Brentford defender.

The idea to play Scarles on the right and Walker-Peters on the left made us susceptible to everything that Brentford threw at us, and after 14 shots and 7 corners in the first half, The Bees scored two, only one of which would count due to the power shortage AWS suffered and the kindness of the VAR saw fans retain minimal hope.

Dismal appearances from Max Killjoy, Scarles, Paqueta, Andy Ain’t-Servin’ & too many more, the starting squad was a complete and total disaster, one in which Nuno has to take entire fault for.

The atmosphere for the Boycott night sounded like a summer sky with no clouds and the real cause of noise was formed through the bellowing DJ along with a pitiful light show to show a minimal amount of remorse for the 90 minutes fans had to endure.

The only element of conversation regarding finishing for the 90 seeing as West Ham only achieved one shot on target, was that the Hammers well and truly might be finishing bottom three.

The feeling of dismay had already reached an all time high but the sharp dagger of Brentford’s rifled strike in added time to double their lead enhanced broken hearts and boo’s ringed round the bowl whilst fans poured out.

The everlasting amount of days continue onwards and will now further as it’s been 235 days since West Ham last won a home fixture.

An ambitious set of fans would look forward to Friday’s game against Leeds, but considering what the current form and situation is, it’s ultimately challenging to imagine what could happen in just 4 days time.

I was surprised we won a game earlier in the season, as we look utterly shit! The lack of talent, effort and belief was on full display tonight. We're certainly not too good to go down this year. We are probably as bad as we need to be to guarantee that drop.

regardless, it's still 3 more points than I thought we'd have. I told several people we would not win a game this season. Take away we beat our own manager's previous team and I'm 7/7

Spit the Dog Carragher summed it up,it wasnt Man City,or Arsenal,it was Brentford, and we couldnt cope,i think the writings on the wall,i cant see where we are going to pull a win from.

Is the entire rotten board are going to lose money when we go down and make no mistake we will go down.....most will not want to spend there own money to keep the ship afloat the borrowing today on future earnings will come home to roost we as a club will not come back and could even see a double relegation on the cards but if that is what it takes to get rid of those leeches then i will accept that as it means we will Get our club back.

As for the game last night we deservedly got beat and by a club whose ground capacity is 18000 so explain that Mr dwarf and Lady buttplug because we moved so we could compete with the big boys lol what a joke.

The value of the club is dropping like a stone. The sawn off runt over valued the club as £1B which is nonsense for a football business with no ground / stadium. When we drop into the chumps the value will slump dramatically and that will be the catalyst for Sullivan to act.

He spent plenty of time in the Chumps with Birmingham. Guy seems to be as stubborn as a mule. The protests need to keep coming to show him he is not wanted anywhere near us. Sell us at a loss, it'll just be one more to add to the endless list since he came in.

We looked slow, lethargic and basically not interested.

Very sorry to see so many people attend the game and not support the protest. As it turned out the only folk that didn't turn up were our players!!!!

May sound like an exaggeration, but with the club heading out of the prem, fans apathy or acceptance of this board not being prepared to make a United stand, only 15K signing the petition, this could be the death of our club.

There would have been a lot more empty seats but for the number of sleeping West Ham fans who simply can't afford to go to games but took advantage of the very clever move move by the board to crash adult prices alongside kids for a quid.

and I don't decry the "sleeping" fans from taking the opportunity. The tickets were cheep as chips and if you are strapped it was a great chance to take the family. Mind you, after that performance they wont return for free!!!

It was like NES first day in management. Like he had not studied what had gone before with El Loppo and Harry Potter.

Where was Potts? Why was Fernandes hooked off at HT. Why was Irvine not subbed earlier? Why did Wilson not come on? Why did Marshall run around like a headless chicken and get no service?

Where was Igor Juilo and Luis Guilherme? Todibo, shocking, Kilman shocking. Pacqueta went missing. Soucek apart from getting clattered did sweet FA.

Saving the best till last Rodriguez really over Potts and Mangassa?

NES you'd better start looking at whats gone before you son. Take some fvcking notice - Chumps league for certain we're proper fvcked. Owners are klints ground is proper shit. Me and Jnr have decided not to go to Leeds on the strength of this. Save our money!!!

i no away games are where the fans have more fun the result while a win would be welcome its all about the fans and away from home feels more like West Ham than at that white Elephant of a gaff we are supposed to call home.
But i do wonder as the week gets on whether you and your boys resolve will weaken and go as you will talk yourselves into the team putting on a good display after Mondays lack of one
