Anthony joshua

Submitted by Hammers65 on Mon, 06/04/2015 - 18:01

Not much on the telly over easter,so i thought id do a bit of telly catch up.Just watched a documentary about the heavyweight boxer anthony joshua. Now i knew he won the olympic gold at 2012 olympics, but i havnt taken much notice of his career to date for 2 reasons- (1) the heavyweight division has been pretty stale for a long time.(2) the characters have gone out of the sport a bit also imo.Though after watching the program i reckon (& so do a lot of boxing pundits) he is defo going to be world champ one day!Hes only 25 but what power hes got in a punch! Also a really nice guy, confident but humble too,i was really impressed! He had 10 knockouts out of 10 professional fights up to november 2014 when he had a back injury, but he had his comeback at the weekend & lo & behold its now 11 knockouts from 11!!Watch out for this guy- the next british heavyweight champion of the world in the future...

I love the David's don't get me wrong. I am a firm believer that they are the best thing that could've happened to our beloved West Ham.
But this quote from Mr Gold has me ruffled. "Let’s hope next week when we play Stoke City that with a fair wind we go on and win the game."
Fair wind?? No mention that Allardyce had this game lost in his pre match comments last week. I loathe the man Allardyce that is. I was thankful but honestly 'insert expletives' I am done with him. He's taking the piss and to the see the owners cough up what I see as clutching at straws excuses to try and make us fans feel better about losing to a team in the position Leicester are in.
They can go f'ck themselves. We're not stupid and we don't deserve to be treated like toddlers.
Last week before Leicester I almost posted how I thought Allardyce might've been entitled to a new contract and that'd it'd be dangerous to get rid of him and to be careful what we wish for...
After watching his intolerable selection of Nolan, his lack of fight, his lack of passion for the hammers and his prehistoric mentality. So many things hes done has been questioned. Downing being dislodged by Nolan. The lack of two up front. The poor tactics and subs.
Now ask yourself this.
What has Sam Allardyce done this season to deserve a new contract?
Why does he deserve to see out the season?

End of Season Out's and New Season In's? Allardyce not included in this one.

For me we have to offload the following at the end of the season:
Nolan, Cole, O'Brien, Jarvis, Maiga, Jussi

Coming In?:
Hernandez (rumoured but can't see it), Ings, Schmeichel, Guzan, Caulker, Benteke (can't see it), Mirallas, Song (good start/poor finish but I would sign him)

The above includes rumours and personal preferences but I would also like to see the use of Reece Oxford as we have to start playing him if he is as good as everyone says. In addition I would like to see Elliot Lee be given a chance as I don't see the point of him being at our club given the selections that have been made over the past couple of years.

So this is quick list but who would you offload and on-board?

Born in Forest Gate and schooled in Plaistow growing up with kids who mostly supported The Irons, a few Spurs, a few Chelsea and a few Man Utd but most as I said West Ham. My first game in 1969 and I was hooked.. Moore , Hurst and Peters the WC winning trio on the pitch and a 3-0 win yet even before that I was Claret and Blue through and through and not a waiver. Relegations, promotions, "The Boys of '86", The FA Cup, Europe and "Uncle" Avram the usual ups and downs.
Most importantly it has always been my choice, yes MY choice, I could change my allegiance to a Man Utd, Arsenal or Chelski but I despise the fair weather brigade , I was born West Ham, I was West Ham yesterday, am West Ham today and yes I will still be dyed in the wool Claret and Blue West Ham United tomorrow and the next day etc.. I will die West Ham a constant in my life.
No one made me, no one forced me it was and is my choice. I am not a multi-millionaire and do not own the club that is down mainly to our co-chairman David Sullivan and David Gold, I am not a business person but Karren Brady is, I was never good enough to be a professional footballer nor I am qualified to manage the club so I put my trust in those who sit in those positions. The way the team plays and how the club is run and managed is out of my hands and there is nothing I can do but go to games and cheer my favourites on, buy mechandise in order to help the club financially in my own small way.
I literally hurt when we lose whoever we play and am ecstatic when we win and I will never change. Whilst we have the owners, manager back room and playing staff I will support them all 100%, I will not boo the players or manager and it is futile to slate any of them and why? Because all I can do is what I do, everything else is out of my hands and I have the mantra if I can't control it I don't let it worry me. I am always positive and greatly dislike negativity,
Since I was born I keep hearing about "The West Ham way!" yep 1964-66 was a golden era, "The Boys of 86" are we so blinkered that we forgot in 1978 we wnt down just two years after reaching a European Final? Under the guidance of gentleman John Lyall, late 80's not long after the "Boys of /86" again under JL we went down we went down under the legend Billy Bonds and we had arguably one of our best squads under Roeder (Defoe, di Canio, Carrick, Joe Cole et al) how did that happen ? down under Uncle Avram and since a 3rd consecutive Premier season. The West Ham way is inconsistency always was and always will be. We are a work in progress and I will stick by our unpredictable and inconsistent team...the choice is mine and mine alone...West Ham yesterday, today and from this day on..... COYI's!

i know the general thread is on the main page but i duno , i like a match thread or two on the active forums link .
What is this guy playing at , at first i thought its just a bad run and things will turn around , but now im worried because i think im turning into a conspiracy theorist, i reckon he misses the north so much that he cant wait to get back there , only problem is he's bringing those cheeky cockney bastards down a peg or two before he goes ,"how dare they question my authority" , either that or he's taking the piss , i wont go into the analysis , i think every west ham fan knows by now what the root of the problem is , but today was not so much the icing on the cake so much as crap in the kennel, and deep down i think the players know its time to get shot , i know this is going to sound like treason but when we play QPR i hope they play Zarati and i hope he has a brarmer and yes i hope he scores , we'll still win 3-1 though ,
