He is never going to be a manager that inspires he certainly is no Pep/Klop/Tuchel/Conte......not sure he has that kind of fire or panash that those have...certainly his demeanour on the touchline does not inspire but hey could be worse could be Avram/BFS/on the touchline.

He's old school, typical British manager, over cautious ,ultra conservative ,not open to change his stance ,hate to say it but i see a lot of big Sam in him, stubborn, never makes ( or hardly ever ) changes in the first half ,nor most times at h/t ,he'll always wait till ten minuets gone in the 2nd ,because he got us to the semi finals of the europer cup and into the next teer of some crappy seconed cousin of the euro cup ,he is hero worshiped ,to me he's mediocre, anyone who is not open to change wont last ,i must agree with a lot of what this article has to say ,if your not willing to accept changes then history has a habit of repeating itself .

I've always gave moyes credit but in reality he's a dinosaur like Allardyce, sticks with the same players regardless how poor they play, subs come on 10 mins to go,ball gets played sideways, backwards then hoofed..if we get mid table this season I'll be very surprised

When you break it down,i think your right,British managers are that Big Sam way,a one way system,if it worked once it must work again, but other teams easily work it out.......Wish the likes of Son,Kane and that lot would get sussed out and squashed.

I think it's safe to say he wears socks with his sandals. But then I suspect he has no time for man bags either....!!

Oi big boy, what's your name?

To be fair I think there are a lot of managers that are conservative, Mourinho, Conte, Benitez to name a few.
They all make the foundation of the team on being hard to beat and then the richer clubs that some of these managers have worked for add world class strikers and attacking midfielders into the side to get the goals.
Football has changed and with the exception of Potter there aren’t too many that have a go from the first whistle, it’s a results based, short sighted business and managers are trying to protect their jobs.

Good points Chippy, the foreigners with money throw caution to the wind, shit or bust and attack from the off, which we should do,instead of easing ourselves into the game.
