Being based in South West/ West London, we are privy to at least a couple of old pals at the Bush, and according to a very reliable source Hammers have made a speculative £12 Million bid for Charlie Austin, with Matt Jarvis acting as a £4 Million make weight (which would represent a £6 Million loss), bringing the transaction to £16 Million valuation, thus triggering the pre requisite figure that QPR had set on any transfer.

West Ham have apparently agreed a deal to take winger Michail Antonio, who is currently undergoing a medical, from Nottingham Forest, for a fee believed to be around £6 Million, but with add ons that could push the eventual price up to an eye watering £8 Million, for a Championship player! The last time West Ham United forked out a similar sum for a Championship player was to buy winger Matt Jarvis from Wolves, which has not turned out to have been the best of deals by anyone's imagination.

1962 was the last year Hammers got a result at Anfield, certain members of the Org staff were 6 years old, others a distant twinkle in their father's eye! It is only half time, but the game so far shows that Slaven Billic is an astute manager for AWAY games, where his propensity for a solid defence that allows his teams to hit on the break is a potentially winning formula.
