Price has to be the reason. Look at Charlie Austin, one good season for QPR no less and he's priced at 15mill!!! The two Daves are being shrewd in ensuring they get value for money, after all we paid 15mill for Carroll and seen no real return (yet). If you can bring through your own young English players I think that's the way a lot of clubs will go or as we are, buy abroad.
