I googled BALLYDESMOND, looks pretty similar to my Irish home town of Roosky, Ruskey, or Rooskey, three different spelling and all three on the town signs depending on which road you approach the town! ( The Irish name being Rúscaigh, meaning 'swamp' or 'bog') In Co Roscommon, a small village were the Shannon flows through the middle separating Leitrim and Roscommon. Plenty of pubs, fish and just wonderful people. Spent 4 weeks every year there, bit different to Forest Gate and Dartford :o)

We have a season ticket at the Blue Mountains... Will think of you the next time we are there, in the meantime tracking down a safe haven to watch the Lionesses in Sydney!

look after yourself buddy... Keep the faith, COYI's and Come on You Lionesses!!!! !!!!

Got a major problem tomorrow... where to go to watch the game. The pubs and clubs locally are VERY partisan to all things Aussie, will need to find a bar in the city where the English frequent or maybe a trip to Bondi Beach... loads of Brits there!!!

What a cracking result for the Lionesses. That'll dampen the mood somewhat around these shores! Thought Hemp was massive last night and all the lasses really. Couldn't be happier with the result.

Great game and great result. Superb goal by Sam Kerr but the Lionesses were just to strong and too clever. Very business like which I think comes from the professionalism of the coach. Hemp was absolutely awesome in fact unplayable!!

i do feel like singing "its all gone quiet over there, yes its all gone..." :o)

That said lots of messages of congrats from Aussie mates

Even after Kerr's wonder goal I was confident we would win considering we'd been on top throughout. Most of my mates are quiet at the moment... might need to wind them up a bit! Roll on Sunday

Only went for 3 weeks years ago but we packed in loads...loads of Engish & possibly more Irish! Them waves are unreal,I had to spare my wife's blushes a few times...but she got in there good for her! But it was funny when a local old boy ended up wearing one of her bras!! Lol dunno if he's still there but some fella with a massive ghetto blaster ( ask your Dads) was there doing the splits etc in a mankini!!Or was that me after a night on the Goon ( I think the drink was called) but sitting by Sydney Harbour having a meal was great & the banana bread is to die for...Happy days

We still go to Bondi Beach, feels like home with all the Brits and Mickys. Also a fan of Manly, again popular with the Brits. When they play our local team The Cronulla Sharks its called The Battle of the Beaches :o)

Toasted Banana Bread... OMG, game changer... Ive put on pound thanks to that. We are just off for our walk to the beach, coffee and banana bread at the cafe called Barefoot on the Beach, I dont think I need to paint you a picture just the name of the place sparks the imagination and i can assure you it meets the expectation.
