pirate article

More than a third of Premier League football fans say they regularly watch matches live online via unofficial streams, according to a recent BBC survey. The poll suggests younger adults are most likely to say they stream matches via unauthorised providers. Nearly a quarter of all fans surveyed regularly watch matches online via special technology, such as Kodi boxes.

In March, a High Court judge granted an order for the UK’s four biggest internet service providers to block access to online servers with football streams, making it harder for pirates to switch streams when they are shut down.

Last season saw the biggest drop in live Premier League TV viewing figures for seven years, hitting both Sky and BT. Sky saw a 14% drop, while viewing of BT channels dropped by 2%.

Sky is scrapping its numbered sports channels and replacing them with themed offerings focused on specific sports – led by football, golf and cricket – as it combats falling viewer numbers with a branding revamp and a cheaper viewing package.

The retirement of Sky Sports 1,2,3,4 and 5 and the introduction of a new package two-thirds cheaper than current prices represents a major shakeup of the strategy of Rupert Murdoch’s Sky a pay-TV powerhouse.

The new offering will result in the launch of themed channels, like Sky’s existing dedicated Formula One channel, for its top-flight sports including football – which will get two channels – golf and cricket. A new channel, Sky Sports Arena, will host other content including rugby and tennis.

A key part of the strategy is that it will let Sky entice new pay-TV subscribers reluctant to fork out up to £49.50 for its cheapest sports package. The new strategy will allow Sky to charge £18 for its cheapest package – although the whole Sky Sports bundle will remain a costly option.
In reality, the Premier League and Sky are fighting a losing battle with the illegal streamers which will only end one way.

The music industry took on the pirates and lost. Out of it came legal Itunes and Spotify. The film industry too tried to stop the pirates and out of the battle came Netflix and Amazon. The Premier League and clubs will soon have to accept that a legal way needs to found to stream all Premier League games to supporters in the UK and worldwide.

In the future, Premier League club themselves may sell their TV rights direct to supporters on legal streaming platforms either in a pay per view model or a season ticket for all games home and away.

i have only ever watched matches this way a few times as the constant freezing of the screen etc just put me off but the last paragraph in this article interests me greatly as i had amongst my friends been spouting about what supporters of all clubs would like and that is to see there own team play not man utd/liverpool/chelski tv which sky love showing...of course the option to watch big clashes would still be there for all but lets face it unless its your club you are only interested in watching other teams play when its against you..they have the tech to do this now so how difficult will it be to get fans to part with money for a season ticket to watch your favourite team.

so we rent the stadium for £2.5million a season..great deal and when you now see between august and september we are on the tv against manure/spuds/huddersfield that works out at £3.6million so the rents paid for with a tidy sum on top by the time 5 matches have gone by..the board will be very pleased with this as they are just raking in the cash with currently little to know outlay what so ever...of course having to wait until we play swansea at home for a traditional 3pm kick off at the end of september will not worry the board but for those of you who have worked and fork out for a season ticket trying to see our beloved west ham it has to be a pain in the backside when fixtures keep getting moved about and possibly preventing you from using said ticket.

Which Hammers Players Can Make An Impact At Russia 2018?

While the Phony transfer war is on we thought we would think about The 2018 World Cup in Russia which will be held in less than twelve months and when they aren’t cheering on their national teams, football fans will be keeping an eye out for their club players in action at the championships. Just three teams have qualified so far but 29 more will follow and West Ham United are expected to have a number of players involved next summer. Players like Winston Reid and Jose Fonte will play for teams which will almost definitely qualify but a number of other stars are waiting to see if they will take part in the finals. If they do, the likes of Manuel Lanzini and Cheikhou Kouyate will be looking to become some of the breakout stars at Russia. Brazil, Iran and hosts Russia are the only teams to have qualified for next year’s World Cup finals but there are a number of countries set to join them. New Zealand are one of the closest sides to progression with a two-legged tie against the Solomon Islands concluding in September. It would be the second time in three editions of the tournament in which the Kiwis have qualified and captain Winston Reid will be hoping to help his country achieve their first ever win at a World Cup finals tournament should they make it next year. Another Hammers centre-back who will be looking to make an impression is Jose Fonte. The 33-year-old was a part of the Portugal side which won last summer’s European Championship and this new batch of Portuguese talent will be looking to establish itself as one of the world’s best sides next year. Portugal have a wealth of young attacking talent but they are somewhat lacking in depth defensively. This will serve Jose Fonte well who, despite his error against Mexico in the Confederations Cup this month, will hopefully hold on to his place in the starting lineup. One man who could have a breakout tournament is Argentina’s Manuel Lanzini. New manager Jorge Sampaoli faces a tough test to qualify for Russia but his new-look side has got off to a good start. Two wins from two – including one against rivals Brazil – has given the Argentineans optimism ahead of the return of World Cup qualifying in August. Manuel Lanzini has enjoyed himself since Sampaoli has taken charge, making his debut in the win over Brazil and the Hammers star didn’t have to wait long for his second cap. The 24-year-old has been deployed in a deeper role for his country and is one of just a handful of players to have played in both of Sampaoli’s matches. Lanzini will be hoping to stay in his new manager’s good books ahead of Russia next year. Of the home nations, the Hammers have three players who each play a key role for their respective national teams but all three countries face a tough test to get to Russia. Darren Randolph continues to star for the Republic of Ireland, James Collins regularly plays for Wales and Robert Snodgrass is one of the key men for Scotland. Of the three nations, the Republic of Ireland hold the best chance of qualification. They’re currently level on points with Serbia in Group D and as of 20th June, are 15/8 to top their group according to betway.com. Wales are in third place in that group and the bookies have them at 10/3 to nick top spot. Scotland have a much slimmer chance of qualification and are way out at 150/1 to top the group on the same site. If any of these three nations get to Russia then the Hammers stars will have to play a key role. There are a handful of other West Ham players who are playing for national teams which face a tough or highly unlikely chance of reaching Russia. Sofiane Feghouli’s Algeria are bottom of their group, and both Andre Ayew’s Ghana and Cheikhou Kouyate’s Senegal are outside of the qualification spots in theirs. Diafra Sakho faces a test to even get back in the Senegal team and needs to play.
The England national team are on track to achieve qualification but they have done so without the influence of West Ham’s English stars thus far. The trio of Michail Antonio, Andy Carroll and Mark Noble will all be hoping for places in any potential World Cup squad but right now, are seen as wildcard selections rather than must-picks. Carroll is the only player of the three to have a cap for the England national team but Michail Antonio is the closest to getting the nod now. Injury has hurt his chances in the past and the 27-year-old will have to come back full fit and fighting next season if he is to get on that plane to Russia. West Ham United have a number of players who could make big impressions in Russia next year. Hammers fans will be hoping that Manuel Lanzini becomes one of the breakout stars of the tournament and supporters will also be hoping for consistent performances from Jose Fonte and Winston Reid. The home nations have a reasonable chance of making next summer’s finals but unfortunately, the same cannot be said of West Ham’s African contingent. The likes of Michail Antonio and Andy Carroll will also be hoping for big seasons next year to try and force their way into the squads for Russia 2018.

So far we have been linked with more strikers than there are in a coal mine, its disappointing. I for one would be happy to see Chicherito come but looking at the reports about the others like Giroud, Iheanacho and the like I can't see them happening. Not to sure about the Burnly bloke so where does that leave us. Now we have been linked with Dembele from Celtic which won't happen as the bigger clubs will fight for him so like has been said on here before I would look at Assobalongo, he is quick and knows where the goal is and we could probably get him for 10 to 12 million as Burnly have had a bid refused. The thing is last season's buys where a fiasco that nearly had us relegated and unless the 2 Davids pull their fingers out we wil be in the same boat this year. I know we still have the sick room twins but we need players that can at least play a few more games than them. Still plenty of time before the owners start to panic buy but we have to start soon.

Shit sandwich

So having landed back in Blighty this morning after a lovely 10 nights in Mallorca, navigating the various wankers at the baggage carousel who insist on having their crotch as close to the revolving belt as possible (always ensure you smash your your case into the jewels with a "shit sorry mate" - always works) and then navigating the other type of cunt on the M25, we found ourselves home. The door slides to a plethora of unwanted mail. Frantically searching for house alarm fob whilst swearing at the kids the help and stop moaning (such a wonderful journey for all concerned) I was mildly surprised to see the weather had done its best to follow us.
The Mrs is obsessed with the washing machine (for reasons I'm too worried to explore) so that's slammed on sooner than I've checked the sky planner to make sure everything has been recorded as set - lions/glasto etc).
It's then that sanity prevails and we retire to the garden. Thoughts turn to dinner, much like G&S probably turn their thoughts to strikers after exploring their belly button fluff.
We can't be arsed with much. I'm certainly not bbq'ing, after an all inclusive that's seen me eat more meat than Jordan. We agree on cold meat and salad. Now like any man worth his salt, bread has to be involved when salad shows up. This wispy rabbit food shite can't be taking any glory in a fork. It has to be played in a secondary role, behind the main event (cold meat) and sandwiched between something sturdy (bread).
As is my brain, I deduced that lanzini is salad. However, he can't exist without cold meat and bread. Problem at the moment is that the salad is of incredible quality, but the cold meat is spam and only one side of the bread is cooked enough. Essentially, Lanzini is part of a shit sandwich.
We can bounce around names of strikers until my full spin has finished (which it seems is over 3 'kin hours) but it matters little unless they fit into our Argentinian magicians pattern. So I would counter all the striker arguments by just settling out brown eyed boys down with a nice 5 year contract, asking what toys he'd like to play with and nailing it.
He's that important in my eyes.
I tried to explain this to the wife but she insisted the washing machine needed another load. Don't get the attraction myself. Pass the mayo.

next two

so within 24 hours of being linked with two strikers now its gray of burnley and javier hernandez. I know we cant believe what we read even if it is on skysports. you could say at least we're trying to lure every forward in the world bar ANTKB to the club but it does smack of the usual unprepared fishing trawler routine of every season.
