Bunch Of Crocks Or Modern Day Footballers?

The following West Ham United players have all had or will be having operations in order to prepare them for next season, and we ask if it is only Hammer's players who sustain such numerous injuries or if it is the status quo for all Barclays Premier League teams given the fast and furious nature of the globally viewed league? Angelo Ogbona and Pedro Obiang had their operations early once Fonte and Snodgrass arrived at the London Stadium during the transfer window. Cheikhou Kouyate underwent an operation on his wrist on Tuesday, he will be in a cast for eight weeks, Michail Antonio has also had surgery and he has started his own rehabilitation period, again working towards next season.
Next up we have the perennial 'sick notes', Stijn Vandenbroucke Head of Medical and Sports Science must dread hearing their names or at least trying to put a positive spin on what is an awful situation. "Diafra Sakho has had a setback with his lower back and we took the decision not to take any risks this season, so he too is working towards next season, finally, Andy Carroll is continuing with his rehabilitation after suffering a significant adductor strain," 'qu'elle surprise!
Gokan Toure didn't seem to want to be outdone in the injury stakes and has managed bugger all for the club!
All in all a pretty miserable set of circumstances for Slaven Billic to deal with, and that excludes the Stadium move and the 'snake' in the grass that was Payet. If the summer's recruitment had gone to plan Billic would have been able to rotate his squad more efficiently and possibly some of the injuries sustained could have been avoided, this seems far more plausible than blaming the training techniques or facilities being employed. Casting a gaze at other clubs it seems they are more willing to give 'youth' a chance, and consequently are able to 'cover' positions in order to avoid players becoming burn out. With a plethora of young fringe players available for next season including Quina. Martinez, Samuelson, Burke, Oxford, Rice and Cullen, surely it is time to take a punt because let's face it those youngsters could hardly have done much worse than their senior counter parts could they? They might also have been able to 'soak up' the 5 or so yards of the extra length that the London Stadium pitch has compared with the Boleyn Ground. - Ed

two games to go and yes every place in the premier league is worth more money than the one below it but putting that aside should we play some of the younger players now to give them some experience? watching everton they have a number in there team and have done for a while now and it does not seem to of hurt them that much and those youngsters will be better next season for them and save the club transfer fees in the long run....now what do we do with the squad in the summer? clearly we need a right back to help byram develop further centre backs we have plenty there so into midfield we need a playmaker alongside lanzini as we don't need to put all the weight on his shoulders striker wise this is where we need proper surgery and we have to be hard nosed about what we do in this dept..quality needs to be found and if we cannot offload carroll for a fee then he has to be an impact player as clearly you can never rely on him to stay injury free for any length of time..sackho I think he has had his time as much as I rate his movement and ability his attitude stinks and you do not need any drama queens at the club....Valencia remember him well if everton do not take up the option to buy we need to find him a club as he has said he does not want to play for us calleri well he showed what he is capable of doing against the spuds but is it enough?.....defoe has been mentioned but that's not a long term answer...I hope the chairman keep quiet and only go to the media when a player is signed instead of naming who we are after then constantly drone on about how close the deal is to being done...there is much work to do this summer to start with Adrians option on his contract needs to be taken up but Randolph needs moving on and another keeper to challenge for the first team got in..maybe begovic at chelski who is looking to move...feghouli/Snodgrass/toure/ need shipping out as well but its a wait and see game now...

Adrian, pulled of some great saves and seemed to inspire his backs.- 7
Fonte, getting better and more confident-
Collins, the old man in defence is like a fine wine, getting better with age- 8
Reid, the rock at the back, forming a great trio in defence and not scared to go in hard-8.
Byram, still finding his ground but improving- 6
Cresswell, still not back to his best but on his way, capable of that great pass-7.
Noble, treads a fine wire with some of his passes and tackles can be a worry but you can't fault his passion- 7
Kouyate, makes the opposition work hard and is strong in all aspects in midfield, worked hard-7
Ayew, had a good game and created some good chances but needs to bury them,-7.
Callers, his best game so far, like Ayew he needs to learn how to score but I think once he does he could kick on, was all over the field creating havoc for spurs defence- 8
Lanzini, man of the match performance from our most improved player this year, has jumped at the chance to be the main man after that prick left us and showed how much the Hammers means to him after he scored with the crossed hammers sign. Hope none of the big clubs noticed.-9
Snodgrass and Fletcher coming on late worked hard to finish the game and for me the best win this year. And finally
Bilic-10. His team selection, tactics and subs where perfect. It's taken a long time but to change to a 3 man defence with wing backs was inspiring and the boys have not let him down with clean sheet a plenty. No doubt others will have different ratings but that's why this is a fantastic site, no one is afraid to put there thoughts down for discussion.

Well I've been lucky enough to go to about 7 home games this season and only seen them win once ( 2nd leg of the Europa against Domžale ), I've watched some shite ( City twice ) and some of the game reminded me of the Grant days of playing shite...

Watching that game last night just proves even with key players out that we CAN play good football for 90 mins, I give credit where credit due the Spuds are a team on form, and IMHO I thought we were going to get another hiding. Right from the first blow of the whistle you could tell the players were up for it. I'm so pleased for the team AND Bilic for putting a damn good shift in it makes me wonder WHY we can't get away with it with the so called lower team that we find hard work with.??. One last thing after Lanzini scored why was he booked, I didn't see his shirt come off ?......I'd love another 6 points now to finish the season off.............COYI's..

Magnificent

Forget all that's gone before last nights performance was the best from a west ham side this season by a country mile....every player was truly magnificent from start to finish and deserve the praise. we looked comfortable at the back in the middle of the park we shut the spuds down and little that we had upfront I think calleri did a tremendous job holding up the ball closing down players.....all players for us deserved 10 out of 10 for commitment and for slav and his coaching team they got it 100% right..well done well done to us all....the spuds fans are bleating and no they lost the title against us what could be sweeter
