Like to know your views ,i thought he was solid enough ,Tore ? I think he'll improve ,bit lightweight though and a bit laking in confidence, Val ?,i kept thinking a goal would do wonders for him but im afraid whatever he had its gone ,Collins solid as a rock ,Noble just keeps on inproving ,one or two slip ups but overall a powerhouse , my motm ,we may not have the best back four in the prem but pound for pound and what ive seen so far their up for the taskforce

Antonio's Redemption West Ham 1- 0 Bournemouth

It wasn't pretty, but it was a positive result! A victory at home was essential for West Ham United, and the home team, devoid of some seriously major players delivered the goods at a sun drenched London Stadium. In a way it was a match of redemption for Mikael Antonio, finally shorn of the sheckles of being a right back, he was able to be the player that all West Ham and Nottingham Forest fans know he is capable of, and topped off a turbo charged performance with a winning headed goal against a resolute Bournemouth side in the 82nd minute. However, truth be told, in the early exchanges of the match Antonio was like a bull in a china shop! He had the touch of a r****t and was so keen to make a killing pass he ended up 'murdering' the move on more than a few occasions, but he needn't have worried, because Gokhan Tore operating on the opposite flank was so useless that Antonio shone like a bright light! We all know that managers have their favourite players, but Slaven needs to go the specsavers route and see that Tore is packing a few too many pounds for someone in his position, he is currently more a flying bumblebee than a winger!
Antonio clearly looked like a player who had been given a second chance, but was obviously over eager, the chance he was given was courtesy of a solid, if immature, performance at right back by Sam Byram who picked up his customary yellow card. Speaking of yellow cards, Eddie Howe's boys weren't there to make up the numbers, and put themselves about to some effect, much to the chagrin of the 'London Stadium' faithful (how weird does that sound?) and it could be argued that it took a dismissal for a second bookable offence by Harry Arter before Hammers were finally able to take advantage of the majority possession that they had experienced as the match wore on.
The team played without an 'I' in it and deserve huge amounts of credit for digging their heels in, rolling up their sleeves and getting the job done, three points gained, a result ground out in front of a massive packed new stadium in the sun shine! It could have been worse, a brave new world? - Ed

sakho

He was a good striker before whatever took his mind off the job. Then g and s announce we need a top striker and give him the hump. No excuse for his reaction but seeing now as each striker we were linked with has gone up in smoke did G and S balls this up? Shuld they have just bought a striker and kept quiet about it instead of slighting sakho? Bottom line is we could really do with sakho right now.

Woe There, Are Carroll, Payet and Kayoute All Really Injured?

News media sources are awash with doom and gloom stories relating to West Ham United, Andre Ayew's long term injury after playing a mere 35 minutes against Chelsea, in addition to Aaron Cresswell's long term injury sustained in a pre-season friendly have rather set the tone for the reporting. So recent rumours that Andy Carroll has picked up another injury and that Dimitri Payet has a 'slight knock' in addition to Cheik Kouyate being injured are par to the course, but are they true? We are always a little skeptical when the source is an anonymous 'insider', but given Hammers appalling track record of having major players injured it is rather an easy 'hit' for headlines!
The idea that Kouyate was made to travel to Romania, despite not being fit enough just to make up the numbers beggars belief, however there is genuine concern that the Europa Cup commitment is beginning to have a similar negative effect as that experienced by Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham in recent seasons while participating in the competition.
It is indeed unfortunate that Feghouli has picked up an injury because he added the pace missing from the soon to return to fitness Manuel Lanzini, West Ham are not the only club to be experiencing the type of wholesale injuries that seem to be part and parcel of the modern game... both Leicester City and Arsenal lost key players yesterday, it is to be hoped that Hammers can avoid adding to that list in the near future, but we doubt that all three players (Carroll, Payet and Kayoute) will miss the Barclays Premier League match against Bournemouth at the London Stadium. If Carroll does not make the match, it might encourage a slightly different style of pacey football, similar to the start of last season, that has been sadly missing this time round- Ed

Obviously this new directive to referees includes Diego Costa getting booked for answering them back, then allowing him to commit ANY second yellow offence with impunity.

5 Things To Learn From Astra Giurgiu v West Ham Draw

(1) Slaven Billic has to balance Barclay's premier league attainment against Europa League progress.
(2) Gokhan Tore needs to 'pound the weights'
(3) Sam Byram deserves a start despite being a bit too aggressive
(4) Although he missed a sitter at the end, Mikael Antonio deserves to start as a winger ahead of Tore
(5) Astoundingly there were no additional injuries sustained!- Ed

there is something not quite right with the team right now against chelski we could not pass to one another and last night against astra we were so lethargic in the second half it was unbelievable....sure sure we are only 2 games in and we were missing payet etc but you telling me that unless he plays this is what we have to expect,,,,tore last night was dreadful Valencia showed yet again why we want rid of him because he just is not good enough..Antonio restored to where he likes to play and was IMO M.O.T.M apart from that glaring miss!!! noble was quiet Randolph again has near post problems just don't get why we are not clicking as a team...some friends said we were thinking about sunday well if that's the case forget this European lark because watching us play like that again is something I could not stomach
