Five Games To Go - What Is Needed From Nuno’s Side?

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Thu, 23/04/2026 - 08:27

West Ham United started the gameweek two points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur and has maintained the gap with this set of games.

Spurs’ difficulty defending in the closing stages, something that the Hammers have been victims of far too many times this season as well, fortunately saved West Ham, and we retained being in a position of safety before the Palace match had started.

A draw would be the final result, but three points could’ve gone towards either side - the point accumulated now begs the question, what is required to stay up?

West Ham’s remaining fixtures: Everton (H), Brentford (A), Arsenal (H), Newcastle (A), Leeds (H).

Spurs’ remaining fixtures: Wolves (A), Aston Villa (A), Leeds (H), Chelsea (A), Everton (H).

Both sides are set to face Everton and Leeds within the last five, and the other three are where the two sides differ.

Spurs have gotten a world of confidence over the new hiring of De Zerbi, whilst the Hammers retain their confidence after having a much brighter second half of the season compared to the first.

Whilst both teams are striving with confidence that hasn’t been translating to wins, and with just a mere five games remaining, the picture is being painted, and it’s emerging that every game is a ‘must-win’ even though that would be disproportionate to suggest, given the track record of both sides.

Whilst it could be close, given the fixtures, West Ham now likely need two wins and a draw, or just three wins in the remaining fixtures, to be confident in staying up.

There very well is the chance that it, rather than unfortunately, comes down to the final day, where undoubtedly each Hammer’s heart will age immensely.

Spurs have had luck on their side with the timing of certain fixtures. Leeds United will likely be safe by the time they play Spurs, potentially playing a rotated side for the FA Cup if they get to the final. The Aston Villa fixtures have fallen in between their two-legged European tie against Nottingham Forest, likely leading them to rotate as well as Wolves, who have already been confirmed to be relegated, after Nuno’s side achieved a point on Monday night… not the best timing!

The general feeling is that it’s do or die against Everton. A victory against Moyes’ side would be a massive boost, even if Spurs were to beat Wolves. The stakes are high against the Toffees, and Nuno’s side knows exactly what is required of them.

It’s time to hold on to our fortune and ride it into the sunshine.

Karen Brady Has OFFICIALLY Stepped Down At West Ham United

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Tue, 21/04/2026 - 10:01

This is not a drill. Karen Brady has officially stepped down from her position as vice-chair of West Ham after 16 years with immediate effect.

She has officially left her role with five Premier League games remaining.

West Ham fans have been hounding Brady to leave. It appears she has officially snapped; the pressure has finally gotten to her, and after years of protesting, the decision has finally been made.

The “BS” stickers and badge protests will officially have to be replaced.

It is unknown what steps West Ham will plan to take in the coming months at this moment in time, and nothing will be determined until West Ham’s fate is finally known.

More senior members departing will be announced in due course. Brady's departure is said to trigger other moves elsewhere, and a domino effect 'could' occur.

The one thing that can be concluded today is that Karen Brady is officially no longer at West Ham United.

A Point Of Confusion

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Tue, 21/04/2026 - 00:00

West Ham United achieved a draw against Crystal Palace, but the nil-nil scoreline certainly wasn’t representative of the game.

West Ham regained the two-point buffer to the Spuds after they were denied an extra two thanks to Brighton’s last-gasp equaliser. Numerous players fought their hardest today in the hope of gaining three points, but it unfortunately wasn’t meant to be.

In the first half, West Ham proved to be on top; numerous chances went for both sides, but the ones with the most intent went West Ham’s way. Two golden opportunities occurred, one for Taty and one for Dino, but both would be kept out; it seemed as if nothing would get past Dean Henderson this evening.

We headed into halftime with hope, but Palace came out all guns blazing for the second half. They utilised the pressure from the crowd and hit us on our weak spots.

Fortunately, the defensive masterclass from both Disasi and Dinos was enough to keep Palace out, bar Mateta’s hidden attempt at a tennis-like pass, which was swiftly disallowed, but apart from that, the threat certainly was there, but it had little to no intent.

It certainly wasn’t the most glamorous or mesmerising of results for Nuno’s side, but it was a performance where there are aspects of positivity to take.

Focus returns to Saturday, where Moyesiah returns to the London Stadium and where, in reality, West Ham need a win if they want to bolster their chances at Premier League survival.

Spuds fans and players jumping around smiling cheering grinning like they had won the league after Simmons goal only to get a swift kick in the balls when Brighton got there Edward Woodward.....Loved the scenes then of all those sad teary eyed wankers realising they are still in the shit and deservedly so.

Now we have to capitalise on that slip up because until the last ball of the seasons kicked it is a proper dog fight and one we must not lose specially to that bunch of tossers so come on West Ham you have a chance to open up clear daylight on Monday night and add even more pressure onto that lot COYI

Paco To Pack Or Punch

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Sat, 18/04/2026 - 10:42

Paco Jémez joined West Ham United back in January. The Hammers were struggling immensely - all hope seemed lost, and the inevitable downwards spiral to the Championship seemed imminent, but fortunately, Jémez's arrival had a punch and kick ‘effect’ on all players, which reignited the spirits within Rush Green. It has since come out that Paco’s contract ends this season, and he hasn’t YET been offered a new one.

Paco has been the light amongst many gloomy nights in Claret & Blue this season; he has elevated Nuno’s managerial ability and pushed him to his limits, which is exactly the type of person you want around in a permanent role. Before West Ham, Paco hadn’t ever been second in the pecking order, but explained that he had a desire to work with Nuno after rejecting an opportunity a few years ago.

Paco Jémez rejected the opportunity to join Spurs, whilst Nuno had his spell in North London, as he wasn’t enticed by the project.

Across numerous interviews with Paco himself, he seems to have taken a liking to West Ham and is enjoying his time in East London. The Spaniard, previously known for his attacking aspect in Football, has utilised his domain with Nuno to form a Yin n' Yang relationship between the pair, where, since his arrival, they have come up with a tactic within the 4-4-2, which has been West Ham’s most successful formation and set of tactics this season.

Paco’s future is in the hands of Nuno, who ultimately has the final say, but this, of course, isn’t a concerning matter as nothing will be concluded or discussed until West Ham’s fate is determined.

With our match against Crystal Palace being on the Monday, the rumour mill had to be on the run for the upcoming days.

Paco Jémez will likely be at West Ham United next season. An event of significance would have to occur to see the Spaniard not remain at the club.

Nuno Makes His Defensive Decisions Known

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Thu, 16/04/2026 - 13:16

Nuno Espirito Santo was dealt with a tricky task upon walking into West Ham United, a side that consisted of broken hearts, shattered confidence barriers and a stone age regime that ultimately aspired for the depths of the relegation zone.

Upon joining West Ham, Nuno made it known that we needed to improve overall, but specifically, we needed to improve defensively. It took numerous games and trials, but eventually we got there. Injuries struck us below the belt, long-term injuries to Mavropanos and Scarles, as well as Diouf and Wan-Bissaka away at AFCON, West Ham inevitably struggled immensely… as anyone would!

January was when it all changed. Disasi was brought in on loan, which triggered the alarm bell for everyone else in the squad, and since then, it appears to have all changed, and Nuno, in the event West Ham stay up, has already made his ideas clear in what he’d want for the upcoming season.

Unsurprisingly, Nuno is very keen to see Disasi in a West Ham shirt next season and is in favour of lining him up alongside Konstantinos Mavropanos, who has turned a corner since Nuno’s arrival. This corner turned being executed to the highest of shocks, it has subsequently warranted the hierarchy to want to offer the Trojan Horse a contract extension, with his current deal running out in 2028.

The ideal central defenders Nuno would like to have at the club next year are Todibo, Disasi and Mavropanos.

Despite what many thought would be a hearty reunion, Nuno isn’t a fan of Max Kilman, and it has emerged between all parties that an exit in the summer will be the best for everyone. West Ham do not expect to recoup anywhere near the mad money that was paid for the Englishman initially, but are hopeful in recouping some funds, which will inevitably be put towards Disasi’s permanent deal.

Staying up will be crucial for the Hammers to stick with this plan, but once safety is secured, the plan of action will begin to form.

West Ham currently ranks 17th in the Premier League, but stands a mesmerising 5th in the Premier League table from January 17th onwards, achieving 18 points since then, just a mere three points from both Manchester City and Arsenal in the same time period.

Time will tell, but it's certainly encouraging for Hammers fans to see a foundation beginning to be laid.

Ex Player Syndrome..?

Bit of a hot potato this one?

Certainly in some quarters. Rightly so in some cases, but not all?

Now take Ince and Defoe as the vitriolic benchmark. For reasons set in history. Wearing a potential and as it proved eventual home shirt and having your mug pictured. Or for handing in a transfer request no sooner than you'd washed yer balls after relegation.

Big Fat Frank, (what a chant that is by the way) A victim of nepotism and the Uncle Harry era. I never really got the furore behind that one. Frank went on to become one of the best midfielders this country has produced. I'd welcome him back. But what about Joe Cole, Carlos Tevez? Nothing doing there.

Payet was a twat, so that one is a given. Mark Noble absolute legend. But what if he had a go at managing us? He crashes and burns. What then? Dogs abuse, Noble out?

Many have come and gone. Take Dec for instance, learnt the ropes from Noble. Always gave his all for the club. Never wanted away. Never slagged us off. Never threw his toys out of the pram. But he wasn't one of our own as he was a Chelsea reject. Notwithstanding the fact he was with us since being a kid! So I don't buy that view in any way shape or form.

He didn't go to ManUre, Liverpool, Man City, but to Arsenal. To further his career, now he has 100 appearances for the Arse in the Prem. SF of the Champions League, pole position for the League title. But he still gets untold sh*t from some. Don't get that one. I waved goodbye and wished him all the best, I still do. But thats just me, each to their own I suppose...

Barcelona Youngster On West Ham’s 'Radar'

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Tue, 14/04/2026 - 13:05

West Ham have allegedly been on the edge of signing numerous ‘World Class prospects’ across the last two decades, some of which were signed and turned poor, whereas others weren’t signed and went on to live up to their full potential.

News has indicated that the Hammers are interested in Barcelona prospect Marc Cassado. The Spanish international has recently informed the Barcelona hierarchy that he would be looking for a move away due to the limited game time he’s receiving. The Spaniard is highly rated by Barcelona fans, who say manager Hansi Flick needs to find a solution, as they cannot lose him.

Numerous teams are said to be interested, but game time is key, so Spurs and West Ham are seemingly at the forefront in comparison to Manchester United and Chelsea, but the reports are far-fetched.

Barcelona value the ‘talent’ at around £18,000,000, and a move for him could be easily completed, as per some sources, but that seems highly unlikely.

Whilst it’s a scout’s job to search for the next big player, there is a high doubt that the club are looking this intensely to sign players, given our current League status and with the future as a current unknown.

Not to mention that due to the World Cup being this year, transfer business tends to take a toll and become much slower as teams prefer to see what their squad will look like upon everyone’s return and what injuries could have occurred, etc.

Transfer twaddle with six games remaining… give it a rest! There’ll be more exits than incomings, but those roundabouts are to be taken at the end of the campaign - time will tell.

Birthday Boys

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Sun, 12/04/2026 - 13:04

12th April.

Whilst the years might've been different, it would feel wrong not to write a message to both Bobby Moore and Neville Nixon on this day.

Both will be remembered for their Hammers history... Moore more than my old man, but let's not get bogged down about that!

Have a decent birthday, the pair of you - Louis

Many thanks for the support on the Org, whilst my match reports and other ludicrous articles don't emulate Nev's in the slightest, he certainly had a few more years on me in terms of experience. But still we rise, thank you to all.
