With 3 players in the BBC team of the Week, I'm fully expecting Garth Crooks and the tipping guru Mark some thing or other to come to blows. Whilst Garth gives a balanced view on why they are in the team, Lawro can't take the blinkers off in his spite for WH and will be looking to give Crooks a severe ear bashing for going against the grain.
Collins, Noble and Antonio fully deserve their places in the team and put their overpriced counterparts well and truly in their place on Saturday. COYI
The only bubble that burst at the Boleyn during the two nil trouncing of Liverpool by West Ham United was Manuel Lanzini getting injured. Was the diminutive Argentine rushed back too soon? In the 38 minutes he was on the pitch he stroked the ball around with aplomb and hit the post with a wonderful swirling shot that had Minolet left for dead in the visitors goal. Early reports are that the injury is not serious, an initial scan is to be followed up by a second which will fully illustrate the extent of the injury For a while the cutting edge that Lanzini had brought to the table was missing, fortunately order was restored and the Boleyn faithful treated to a superb performance, the first time West Ham had beaten Liverpool with a five goal aggregate since 1932 and the first double since 1963, the fans were also rewarded as the match reached it's latter stages with nearly half an hour of the 'Dimitri Payet' show, alone worth every penny of the admission price and much much more!
Jurgen Klopp looked more like his cousin Klipperty, while Slaven Billic looked like the mongoose who had just got all the eggs! - Ed
So January Sales are open and lets open up some thoughts on the January 'frenzy':
I think that Jonjo Shelvey may return to Liverpool
I think that Mane will join Arsenal
I think West Ham will sign a full back and/or a forward
I think Klopp is gutted at taking a long holiday and turning down the Hammers!
But then I'm pished still celebrating today's 2-0 win! So what do you think will happen?
Diego Poyet has had his loan from the MK Dons cut short with the MK Dons manager Karl Robinson saying "He is too similar in style to vice-captain Darren Potter" "As a combination they didn't do too well together and he knows what Darren Potter means to the football club," he also said. "It's not fair on a young player to not give him many minutes and in time he will be a much better player than a lot in this league. He's a tremendous young man."
Would you give the Poyet a run in the team for cup games or get him out on loan ASAP?
We are not a very good side we will struggle and be lucky to avoid relegation "mark lawrenson august 2015" well we beat the scousers home and away with a 5-0 aggregate score so whats that say about your beloved team! keep swimming against the tide prick
As the Liverpool double is sinking in nicely I have to admit that i can't wait for our game against Wolves for the FA cup. Finally a decent enough draw for the third round. We've had quite a terrible luck with this draw for the last few seasons and now it seems that our luck might be turning around regarding this. Wolves are not a league 2 side but dont look too convincing this season. Have watched them a couple of times and they didnt look great at all. Yeah they won against Brighton a few couple of days ago but we should be able to handle them. Give Moses, Reid, Jenkinson, Jelavic, Obiang and Song a start and keep the gems on the bench should something not go according to plan. Hope we get past Wolves and get another couple of decent draws as we advance. COYI it would be magical should we win it in the last season at the Boleyn.
Isn't it wonderfull after all the years of struggling with bad sides ,bad manegers and non commital boards we have emerged into a club that fears no one ,in fact tell me a club that doesn't fear us ,its hard to put into words how proud i am to call myself a west ham supporter, concider all the timees when we were a?simplte touch ,relegation fodder ,of course there were the special results ,the odd time we beat Manua at their gaff ,a couple of good cup runs (not to mention winning the thing 3 times) but you have to admit the majority was gloom and doom ,i know ive said it before but the looks you got from young fellas when they'd say "who do you support then mister " and you'd say West ham they had to think who the fukc is west ham ,and when your scouse ,manua and gooner buddies would take the piss after inflicting on us the usual spanking ,mostly at uppers ,but through it all it was something special to be part of this great club i for one have never felt such a sence of solidarity, even brotherhood ,you always felt honered to be part of west ham ,for me it was the wit of the croud even in the face of such unmitigating gloom you still got the funny comments .
And now ,??? The football pundits (with the exception of dick head Laurenson.) are just gob smact at our performances, watching bt today you got the feeling that football has been turned on its head ,Harry was nearly having an orgasm over Carroll ,even Owen called it like it was a brilliant performance from the hammers ,anyone notice how the only talking point in favour of Liverpool was the supposed foul by Antonio ,dont let anyone tell you this was a bad Liverpool side ,they were bad because we mad them bad
I really believe that no club in England would have come near us when we play like that, well done lads , and as none of the begrudgers out there are going to say ,well done and congratulations to you all ,every one of you supporters ,followers and fans ,maybe just maybe our time has finally come
West ham are playing a type of football we all like and they look solid too.
Good to see Payet return though sad about the Lanzini injury hope its nothing much.
Noble had a solid performance too and the lads did well all is looking positive, Bilic is the man right now, COYI'SSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
