Give Me Strength Call Centre Bookings!

ANTKB's picture

So I can't go to the Liverpool game next week but I try booking tickets for some friends to go in my seats, one of which we all know and is well worthy of all the time in the world to spend booking for and the other for him and his son who is young and small and wants front row seats which we have. Earlier today I made various calls and was given 30 minute waiting times which then went upwards in waiting time? I decided to call during the game tonight, as I couldn't go, and I spent around 45 minutes in the top 5 callers on three separate occasions ( I called back because I couldn't believe it) and I was then told that I couldn't book our normal seats in the Sir Trev Upper as they have given the whole stand to Liverpoo!!! The only time I can remember that happening was when we played fecking Millwall!!! The only tickets I was offered were in the back rows of the other stands so I now have to call again tomorrow after 9am. Apparently not many season ticket holders have purchased tickets/upgraded so I hope to get decent seats tomorrow but I could be waiting for a long time. To make matters worse, blame on the call centre and the stupid allocation, I returned to the living room and the Mrs had turned the game over to Celebrity Big Brother so I missed our second goal and the last 20 minutes! The only decent things tonight are that we won 2-0 and Gemma Collins was kicked out of the CBB house, in case you didn't know lol

A Noble Victory! West Ham 2 Aston Villa 0 Come On Woy!

West Ham United captain Mark Noble, ridiculously overlooked by England manager Roy Hodgson, put in a stellar performance as his team finally managed to put Aston Villa to the sword in the 2-0 victory at the Boleyn, Vila started on the front foot and made the home side look particularly lethargic, the great messiah that is Dimitri Payet had a very off day at the office initially and Villa proved very stubborn opponents, as you would expect from a team that were fighting for their Barclays Premiership survival. The first half did indeed resemble a West Ham United of old, unable to break down ten men following the Ayew sending off for a ridiculous elbow on Cresswell. Thankfully Slaven Billic was able to put a rocket under their collective proverbial and sent his team out with more endeavour in the second half. Eventually the pace and power of West Ham managed to grind down their stoic opponents who are now surely desitned for at least one season in the Championship. Quite what they put in the tea at half time nobody knows, but Mark Noble emerged like a footballing gladiator on pills, such was the daring and range of his passing skills,he out Dimied the main man with his vision and style!
Long may it all continue, and fair praise to the Villa fans who stick by the club they love through thick and thin, they must be experiencing a salutary lesson in despair.
One set of players in Claret & Blue and their long suffering supporters can look forward to exciting times and great hopes for the future, the others, sadly do not look like the future will be one that they would like. - Ed
PS: By the way Roy, is James Tomkins invisible?

Which 'West Ham Way' Will Turn Up Against Villa?

There has been much written and said about the 'West Ham Way', particularly in Old Sour Puss' Book, and also by the current Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce from his time at the Boleyn. Generally the public perception is of a mythical Claret&Blue haze that descends on whole groups of people, particularly men of a certain age and seduces them in to thinking what they are seeing and experiencing is special and unique. To many the West Ham way is an illusion that has been perpetuated and manipulated for financial benefit by the current owners, so what is the West Ham way? Valiant victories followed by crushing defeat? A conveyor belt for providing talent that then gets sold on for a fraction of its worth? Or maybe a team and club that teases, cajoles, and frustrates in equal measure, but one that occasionally lifts the spirits to such heights that are rarely reached within a sporting environment?
Over the years supporting West Ham United has been a hard graft, while other teams pushed forward the fiscal restraints and self inflicted issues at the club ensured perennial anxiety, matched by a yo yo like tendency to get relegated, sell off the best talent and then get promoted etc. An endless cycle of despair! The usual manifestation of the 'West Ham Way' would be beautiful performances, and rubbish results apart from the odd spectacular cup match, Hammers would always flatter to deceive, promising much but delivering very little consistently.
This evening's game against relegation threatened Aston Villa is a classic banana skin in waiting for Slaven Billic and his team, in the past teams in a similar predicament to Villa would arrive at the Boleyn and promptly turn the home side over, not enough grit, not enough desire and not enough luck! Billic is like one of those characters in war movies that his troops knew would never even get scratched let alone killed, he is the sort of person who makes their own luck, his influence and unwillingness to accept defeat before a game has started to spread to his players. They have no fear, the squad is full of good players, some great even! So this evenings match should hopefully show West Ham in a new light and how far the club has progressed, traditionally Villa would have none of the play and then nick it in the dying seconds, perhaps Billic and his boys can help dispel the myth that Hammers teams get nose bleeds when they scale the heights and always blow it when things are just beginning to look up?

Unless there is a 'cunning' plan afoot, West Ham United appear to have shut up shop early on transfer deadline day. No frenzied candle burning at the Boleyn, no mysterious fat over weight mercenaries waiting in a near by Hotel hoping for one more excessive pay day, and no hopes of fans to be dashed! Pretty boring in one way, but on the other hand the club's work was already done earlier in the year with a very successful recruitment of top players who have all proved their worth. Top deals are usually done in the summer, not that there won't be obscene amounts of money changing hands today, it is just that most of the money will be from clubs like Newcastle, Sunderland, Norwich, Bournemouth and Swansea, splashed out in a desperate frenzy to avoid the dreaded drop in to what could be a downward spiral. The riches on offer for next season will further drive a wedge between the footballing haves and have nots, the Championship has always been a hard ask to bounce straight back up from, West Ham United were very lucky! Who knows what might have been had Vaz Te's shot not gone in on that amazing play off final against Blackpool? Look what happened to them! The already completed transfer activity by West Ham also has the bonus of fans not having to watch the permatanned hyena's on Sky to sniff out any information. - Ed

One In One Out Eminike's Arrival Heralds Jelovic's Departure

West Ham United have confirmed the signing of Emmanuel Emenike, after lengthy negotiations, on loan until the end of the season. The 28 year old Nigerian ex international arrives from Fenerbahce having been on loan at Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates league, Slaven Billic knows the player well and will be able to run the rule over him during the rest of the season to see if the club want to make the move permanent for a fee of around £8 Million. Eminike's arrival will almost certainly see the departure of Nikica Jelovic from the Boleyn to a lucrative deal in the Chinese League, West Ham may even receive the £3 Million they paid for him in the summer! - Ed
