Deadline Day...

Submitted by Ausiron on Tue, 01/09/2015 - 10:58

Look, I comment from afar and don't get to see all these very exotic sounding players week in week out and haven't got a clue who half, no, a quarter or an eighth of them are. Do any of us out here in internet football bossland?
I didn't have a clue who Lanzini was til Sunday morning (SYD time)...and Kouyate...a revelation last season, a cult hero this. Tomka at RB have a word...and Noble as Captain Courageous.
We're 'having it people. We have a coach and a team of people behind him that are starting this revolution leading to our move to the OS. Who knows if he was 5th choice but he would have been my first if I'm honest. Any bigger name would have had too much pressure. SB and his team will make us a force to be reckoned with.
I digress...
I am looking forward to some new additions. We all know they ain't gonna be superstar exotics, but playmakers, and I won't be unhappy if they can fight for a place in a side that beat the Micky Mousers on the weekend.
Lets hope the two Dave's and two R's can pull off some good moves tonight/today.

What did people who saw the whole game think of this lad? I've heard some people make some very impressed comments about him. Apparently made 3 or 4 vital tackles right after Noble was sent off that prevented the bindippers maybe getting a sniff of getting back into the game.

After a series of protracted medicals and complex loan negotiations, despite being injured, Alex Song has returned to the Boleyn from parent club FC Barcelona, the midfielder's arrival uses up one of the loan berths available to West Ham United under the transfer system, Carl Jenkinson has already been signed on loan from Arsenal for another season. Hot on Song's heels is the impending arrival of another loanee ,Victor Moses, from Chelsea who is apparently under going a medical this morning with a view to joining Slaven's away day wonders.
Song, Moses and Jenkinson are all loan players, which does not leave much room when it comes to further player recruitment. The club will have to make permanent signings or look to players who are out of contract after the window closes this evening. - Ed

Call It The Games Gone Crazy But Hammers Might Be Back In For Austin

Being based in South West/ West London, we are privy to at least a couple of old pals at the Bush, and according to a very reliable source Hammers have made a speculative £12 Million bid for Charlie Austin, with Matt Jarvis acting as a £4 Million make weight (which would represent a £6 Million loss), bringing the transaction to £16 Million valuation, thus triggering the pre requisite figure that QPR had set on any transfer. If this story has got any legs it, it will represent a significant u turn from West Ham's majority share holder David Sullivan, who had previously declared that Austin was too much of a risk due to the lack of his knee ligament!. However news has also reached us that this may have been a slightly cunning plan to pass Matt Jarvis off to the hoops at a great discount with Hammers also prepared to give a ' loyalty bonus' to Jarvis to ensure that he could agree personal terms, the player himself is known to want to stay in london and that desire is thought to be key to any ongoing negotiations, it is possible Jarvis could move to West London, especially bearing in mind a potential Hammers 'adjustable' pay off, on a cut price deal irrespective of any business involving Austin- Ed

What Is It With Hammers And Expensive Wingers? Could This One Work?

West Ham have apparently agreed a deal to take winger Michail Antonio, who is currently undergoing a medical, from Nottingham Forest, for a fee believed to be around £6 Million, but with add ons that could push the eventual price up to an eye watering £8 Million, for a Championship player! The last time West Ham United forked out a similar sum for a Championship player was to buy winger Matt Jarvis from Wolves, which has not turned out to have been the best of deals by anyone's imagination. The fact that Forest were not prepared to take Jarvis on loan as part of the original negotiations shows how far his value has plummeted, this is not meant as a criticism of the player's ability, more of the outrageous inflated price that was originally paid. Jarvis was purchased to fire in the crosses for Andy Carroll, so cannot be blamed for the 'Pony Tailed One's' devastating catalogue of injuries since his arrival on another expensive transfer, again sanctioned by Sam Allardyce, from Liverpool this time.
It is to be hoped that Michail Antonio can be more of a Cresswell than a Jarvis. - Ed
