Hammers Might Do Well To Pull Forward Lanzini Signing

Manuel Lanzini’s parent club Al Jazira have recruited former West Ham technical director Gianluca Nani as their new sports director, which could be a can of worms! There is plenty of bad blood between Nani and co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan, Nani was dismissed from his highly paid role at the club in a cloud of secrecy. Almost all of the deals that Nani oversaw were reversed as soon as possible when the two Davids took over, one or two of the deals were extremely suspicious to say the least! It would seem prudent for the West Ham hierarchy to pull forward the permanent signing of Lanzini to January rather than wait until the summer, this would head of interest from Liverpool among others, and ensure the deal goes through before Nani gets his feet comfortably under the table.
Of course the dreaded FFP will be stretched, but increased merchandising and advance season ticket deposit money from the Olympic Stadium should see the club being able to balance the books, Lanzini is a 'little jewel' that the club cannot afford to lose, and even though the deal to take him permanently was in writing, it was authorised by Abel Braga, not Nani! - Ed

well its coming round to that time of year again and what a year its proved to be...we were going great guns till bfs finally caved and had to have carroll and Nolan playing and it all went tits up after the master tactician decided which games to try and win and which we could not(we all know what I'm talking about),,,yet here we are a year on the styles changed we have a stronger squad just look at how we are coping with the injuries this time around...and before any of you get on your high horse and say we had more points under sam or we have not won since chelski.......just remember the football we were forced to endure...no I am thankful that the board made the right moves eventually and with the players we aquired in the summer I think it will be a very good new year much improved from last time with the WEST HAM WAY back and fans with a smile on there faces COYI

A trip down memory lane, is there any unsung heroes of hammers past you used to enjoy watching? Not your big stars that everyone mentions. I'm sure I can pick loads but to start with ID sat Jimmy neighbour, pat Holland, mark ward and Peter butler always excited me. Who did you like?

Antonio to start?

Submitted by Red Neck Iron on Sat, 12/12/2015 - 12:14

Based on what Slav says Antonio is due to start today ( barring injury) he states that we will change our style a bit to accommodate antonios pace. Good to hear we will adjust and my hope is Antonio does well after waiting months to get a decent run out, so good luck Antonio have a good one , I'm sure it won't be long before you find the net altho his lack of match time may have taken the edge of him for a few games.

Over the years of what you have seen, your best West Ham Team would be?

1. Ludo - So good we still sing about him!
2. Stuart - Penalty king and steady, a great coach to the Junior Hammers in the 80's
3. Dicks - Tough as old boots and always gave 100%
4. Bonds - Commitment could not be questioned and 'he's 6'2" eyes are blue'
5. Martin - A great centre half that commanded the position and gave his all
6. Moore - Legend
7. Payet - Seen enough already to know he will be a Legend, seriously a class act.
8. McAvennie - Great memories of the mid 80's and great combination with Cottee
9. Cottee - A born goal scorer and one of our own
10. Brooking - What a player and a gentleman
11. Devonshire - Naturally gifted footballer and so great to watch with the ball stuck to his feet

12. Di Canio - Difficult not to put him in the starting eleven as he scored some of the best goals I have ever seen and we all loved him
13. Tevez - Class act and such a shame he left but we should be thankful for the short memories
14. Ferdinand - The best youth player I ever saw at 15/16 and his career proves that fact
15. Parker - One of the best attitudes I have ever seen as he didn't stop battling even those around him were nowhere to be seen
16. Etherington - Love to watch wingers beating full backs and delivering good balls in the box, this guy was a class act and great to watch for me.

I'm sure some of my choices will be questioned but there you go, so what's your choices and why?

Just watching the Wolves v Forrest game ,cant help but notice vast areas of the ground are empty , considering these two are among the top teams in the championship i was just wondering can football sustain what appears to be a downward trend in attendances and is it just the money from sky thats keeping them going .
