    Reveling in the spuds spiral out of cup competitions and watching it slowly dawn on the spud fans dense grey matter something we all new before a ball was kicked and that is they are gonna win FUC*A*l out comes there man Poch who claims winning trophies/silverware is just an ego trip finishing in top four and champs league far better....ok fine but whats the point? even if you could win it you dont want too as that leads to big egos so happy to win some money for the board but not trophies for the fans..what a sad Wan**r he is.

    His brother rocked the boat he waved goodbye he sulked not picked for two games and then bam nice new fat contract on the table.....so What will the club do if say Declan Rice decided hey i am worth more than the new deal i just signed and then go knocking on the boards door Agent beside him spouting citeh interested so give us £££££££'s or we will be off....big old can of worms the board have opened there.

    El Pels words not mine....so i hope he puts the Desire into them pretty quick because they do it way too often...and El Pel when looking back on the Wimbledon disaster take a long look at yourself and make the changes a lot quicker and put a rocket up one or elevens backsides when they just stroll round the pitch for there £80/90 grand a week...simply put hard choices need to be made about certain players and they need to be shipped out PDQ...

    Hindsight is a wonderful thing, especially when it comes to setting up Football teams, Hammers vastly experienced manager Manuel Pellgrini selected what he thought was a 'competent' team in order to see off bottom of League 1 side FC Wimbledon. Indeed, pundits were congratulating 'Pelle' for taking the game seriously ahead of the match starting.

    Now it is not for us to tell Pellegrini how to do his job, and we fully accept the 'slice' of luck involved in the first of four goals conceded as the ball took a wicked deflection off of Pedro Obiang passed a stranded Adrian in goal. However, the second goal was as a direct result of Obiang attempting to play the ball out from a danger area, Wimbledon took advantage and found themselves two nil up.

    Any player can have a bad day at the office, as had Obiang, but to keep him on the pitch for the second half and not replace him with Declan Rice beggar’s belief, surely Pellegrini and his coaching staff must have been watching the same match! Time and again Obiang's 'bad hair day' continued as he was completely outmanoeuvered by the Wimbledon midfield and looked totally out of his depth by the end of the game. It may seem a little unfair picking on Obiang as the scapegoat, because the rest of the team did themselves absolutely no favours.

    Few players if any can hold their heads high after this 'disastrous' defeat, of course fans of a certain age will remember Yeovil Town, Oldham, Luton Town and a few other crushing defeats against lower league opposition. The problem with this type of 'sobering' defeat is that it can have a negative effect on the results of forthcoming matches, the flip side being that the 'wounded' team can then go out and 'punish' their next opponents.

    It is easy to imagine the PR arm of the club licking their lips at the prospect of announcing Marko Arnoutovic's 'contract extension' after dismissing Wimbledon from the Cup, although news of 'Arnie's' renewed contract actually broke before the ill-fated game it was the club's intention to 'glorify' in the good news.

    There is an old expression which succinctly sums up West Ham's hopes for the season, "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans". - Ed

    Same old story this season & if it was any other previous westham manager they would be getting pelters!that was up there with the most embarrassing nights in our history & el pel has got away relatively stick free imo.
    The 2 good notable wins this season were against manure & the arse but let's be honest we were lucky in that they were really poor performances from both of them.weve lost twice to Bournemouth,lucky to squander a point to brighton in 2 games,watford keep beating us,Burnley also now bottom of div 1 wimbledon pull our pants down!!
    For all the pretty tippy tappy football pellegrini needs to add some steel to this side imo
    10 mill a year,100 mill war chest.. is el pel being found out? wolves up next so we will see

  • Pellegrini To Take Strong Squad For Wimbledon FA Cup Tie

    Hammers manager Manuel Pellegrini has to perform a balancing act as he takes his team to the FA Cup 4th round tie against AFC Wimbledon, mindful of Tuesday evening's Premier League fixture away against Wolves which is a Europa League six pointer, he has to field a strong team tonight but without risking over using those players who have just emerged from a frenzied Christmas and New Year program.

    With the Arnie returns story doing the rounds, it is anticipated that Arnoutovic along with Felipe Anderson will be on the bench, with Pellegrini giving starts to youth and fringe players but keeping his powder dry just in case. This will be a very tricky fixture with Wimbledon now managed by ex-Hammers coach Wally Downes, as it is a cup match it will act as a relief from their awful league form giving them a chance to make amends with their long suffering fans.

    BT Sport are featuring this match for live broadcast and you can guarantee their cameras are going to be there in anticipation of a giant killing, their conjecture backed up by the fact that Wimbledon gave Hammers a run for their money in the League Cup and were only narrowly defeated despite going down to ten men in the opening minutes.

    This is a 'proper banana skin' game for Pellegrini to navigate his way through, a good cup run would do wonders for morale and represents a potential route in to European competition, however the Wolves game coming so soon after this one will have him desperately trying to 'protect' his important players while at the same time send out a team that can do the job.

    It doesn't matter if it is a 'win ugly' game, Pellegrini is known for his love of his teams playing 'the beautiful game', however he has shown where ever he has managed that he is not above being pragmatic when he feels it is necessary, and tonight he will need his team to have broad shoulders because this is the opposition's Cup Final and they will be playing out of their skins. - Ed Team news to follow

    Far be it from me to bring up the antics of another football club on our site but I sure am getting pissed off with the media going all out with Oli and his magical 8 ,as far as I can remember footballers going on strike is strictly frownd on by the F A and to put it mildly that's just what happened under Marino ,don't get me wrong ,I'm no lover of this mega poser but to refuse to play because you don't like the Manager is to me a disgrace ,now all of a Sudan their a different team ,winning 8 on the trot ,I really do think that club should be the subject of some sort of sanction by the powers that be even if it's only a fine or points deduction ,just because it's them they are allowed to get away with this shit ,their even being made to look like hero's by some in the media ,motd and sky to mention two

    Lanzini back with the first team squad doing some light but well monitored training as he continues his recovery from the injury last summer....he may MAY be in line for a spot on the bench and some action in a little over a month, if he keeps up with his recovery/training regime.....i hope his recovery keeps on track and when he comes back he is still the player that we all no and love.

  • Two Out One In- Big One Stays Hammers Strikers Decision

    With less than a week to go before the European transfer window closes events are starting to accelerate as Hammers iron out their policy with regards to their strikers, ironically most fans assumed that Marko Arnoutovic will be the big name departure from the club during this window, however it appears nothing can be further from the truth. Word coming out from the Rush Green training camp is that 'Arnie' has knuckled down to training having had a 'clear the air, heart to heart with Manuel Pellegrini.

    It is understood that Arnoutovic has accepted Pelle's word that the Austrian striker will be allowed to leave the club at the end of the season unless an offer that meets the club's valuation arrives, the player who doesn't want to stay is Javier Hernandez. With all the fuss about Arnoutovic, Chicharito's actions seem to have gone unnoticed, if 'Arnie' had agreed terms with another club ahead of a transfer there would have been all hell to pay but Hernandez's 'agreement' with Spanish club Valencia is common knowledge.

    The fact that Hernandez is prepared to take a pay cut is widely seen as a firm indication that he will be on his way sooner rather than later, Manuel Pellegrini would prefer to keep him at the club but by freeing up the player's massive wage could generate the funds he needs to bring in another striker. Hammers are highly unlikely to recoup the fee they paid Bayer Leverkusen or anywhere near it, Hernandez's main sutors and the club he has a 'pre-deal' with Valencia wanted to take him on loan initially, but that offer was firmly refused by West Ham. However according to Spanish media outlets including the generally reliable La Marca, Valencia have upped the ante by making a firm offer to take Hernandez on a permanent basis.

    There is a bit of a problem though, because Valencia's offer is only €8 Million whereas Hammers are demanding €12-14 Million, and any hopes of a 'bidding war' between Valencia and Monaco, who were also interested in the player, have evaporated due to manager Thierry Henri's sacking.

    It is not only Chicharito standing next to the revolving door, Andy Carroll is also in the last gasp saloon however in his case there is a rumour that the club are going to see if the impossible happens, ie that Carroll stays fit, if that was the case the club would activate the two year option they have, and then sell him on recouping a least a small amount of the huge money he has cost the club.

    Of course the elephant in the room is the Maxi Gomez situation, if Chicho' does go, then Hammers might just 'look behind the sofa' and find the funds in the short term to activate his buy out clause of €45 Million, if that did happen the seventh place finish coveted by Pellegrini in order to get the club in to European competition would probably be guaranteed. If Gomez doesn't arrive during this window he is pretty nailed down to arrive in the summer, the question is what other strikers will still be at the club? - Ed
