    ok we all know we have two gk's as good as each other but prone to mistakes and because of the mistakes of one the other has been picked for last few matches.....now when a gk makes a mistake it is worse because a goal is normally the result and so its highlighted even more.
    now before this season and last season had started I had hoped we would sign a keeper and the one I always wanted was schmeichel at Leicester but with them winning the league and going into the champions league well that was a non starter and when this season has finished and Leicester go back to well being Leicester they will lose there key players and that keeper will be snapped up by Liverpool imo......so who is out there that can help us improve our gk position? begovic at chelski or now I hear hart if we stay up although I am not a fan of his.....we had the great man ludo but parkes is the best gk I can rmbr us having...for most clubs the position is an issue from cortois being hailed as the best then being lambasted for letting in a Charlie adam special from the half way line gk's make mistakes like every other player but when they do its a key mistake....so should we look to move either one on or should we coach them better and try and make them better?

    well a bit of a mixed bag yesterday tbh. we started poorly as usual and went a goal down early. we then got a bit lucky with some poor keeping by them and we were ahead at the break. then calamity randolph throws their equaliser in the net. he may have made amends with a top class save later but it defeats the object when you have just gifted them one. maybe we should move for Hart as neither keeper is convincing anymore. overall though we did well. we didnt fall apart or bow to the Klopp intimidation. for me liverpool are not convincing, how anyone can keep talking about them winning the title i don't know. one thing though, is our shape. I'm not sure about it at all. the back 3 doesnt seem solid and we seem to be aimlessly moving around without any real purpose or structure. imo we'd be better off getting back to a solid back 4 and then playing a counter attack like last season. this formation doesnt seem to suit payet or lanzini. we have the players bilic just needs to organise them better. personally i think 4-2-3-1. with noble and obiang sitting deep to release payet, lanzini and antonio (or ayew) who sit behind caroll. fact is we can't defend to save our lives at the moment.

    ok we are in the bottom 3 for now but who cares we have been there before its nothing new so to lighten the air of despondency lets have some fun.....so I have been thinking apart from bubbles what else could our team run out to?   • Carroll Set For Anfield Reunion

    Andy Carroll is 'champing at the bit' to play and hopefully score against his old club Liverpool in this afternoon's live on Sky Barclays Premier League match away fixture at Anfield. Carroll will be joining a squad boosted by the presence of Aaron Cresswell and Mikael Antonio along with the sorely missed Chek Kouyate, this will be the first match this season where Slaven Billic's team will be able to employ the three at the back formation WITH a proficient 'big target' man to ping balls to from either wing, with Manu Lanzini and Dimi Payet pouncing on the loose ball.
    Carroll has told the O/S "It's a massive game, they're a great team playing in a massive stadium with good fans, so it's going to be tough for us. "It would be nice to go there and get the win and, for me, to get a win against one of my old clubs would be even better. "We just need to go up there, concentrate and get the result. Obviously they are a tough team to beat, especially at Anfield, so it's going to be even harder." Carroll returned from a three-and-a-half month injury lay-off with a goal against Arsenal last weekend, when he played for around 20 minutes as a substitute. Slaven Bilic has refused to say whether the England man will start against his former club, but the No9 feels ready to contribute, whatever role he is given."The aim is to get more minutes on the pitch on Sunday," he confirmed. "I've been training hard and I'm fit so hopefully I'll get longer on the pitch this weekend than I did against Arsenal last Saturday. "I would like to think I could make a difference to any team. We've obviously been lacking goals so I would like to get back in the team and get those goals." "We have got the quality to beat the top teams and Liverpool are obviously a
    top team, so we can beat them," he said. "We have to stick together and we've worked hard in training this week. All the lads know what we need to do and hopefully we can put it together for the weekend."

  • Massive East Stand Flag

    Not sure if anyone has been following the threads on KUMB and WHO? I've been working hard on the idea of a massive east stand flag (Gonzo mentioned it in this weeks Cup of tea video), and been getting the designs finalised. I have put together a selection of the best 5 that have taken into consideration all of the suggestions put forward.

    Unfortunately the stadium operators, because of connotations with the standing issue rejected my favourite ‘United We Stand’. The club however backed it and tried to help push it through, to no avail – but that’s what you get when your Landlord is a div and you don't own your own home.

    Each design uses the original font that was used on the club badge (before it was changed) to retain the heritage, and logo wise I have stuck to the distinctive crossed hammers. They are all pretty clean and simple – claret and blue with a white logo and each flag in its own way draws on the history and culture of West Ham as we know it, and that none of us want to lose or see disappear.

    The dimensions are yet to be confirmed but the plans are for this to be an absolute monster, rolling down from the back of the stand, and being carried towards pitch side at the bottom. Ideally we want it to cover the length of the stand and this will ensure that the flag makes a massive impact.

    The poll is being hosted by all of the major independent West Ham sites, vlogs etc so everyone will get a chance to vote. Since my last post a senior member at the club has contacted me and they will be hosting a poll directly on the official club site in conjunction with the independent one, which will allow other fans that don't necessarily use the independent sites to vote as well.

    The results in the New Year will then be added up and the design with the most votes will be added to a crowdfunding site where fans can chip in and make donations to get it made. Flags of this size can be extremely expensive but if everyone chips in a couple of quid then it’s job done. A link to the crowd funding site will be posted in due course.

    Incidentally, when the club approached me they also offered to pay for the flag in full as well as a smaller one for the Bobby Moore lower. To be fair to them, they made it clear that they didn’t wanna get involved in the design or retract from it being a fan led thing, they just thought it was a good idea and wanted to support it.

    The way I have played it with them is that we should try and fund it ourselves and if we fall short at all they can make up the rest, which I think they are happy to do.
