just dont believe whats happening , looking at that team today you'd have said not a lot wrong with that , same team that gave us all high expectations before Christmas , i cant begin to fathom out whats gone wrong , we had a striking partnership that was developing into one of the best in the prem , Song was seen as the best addition in a long time , the two full backs couldn't put a foot wrong , im sick of saying it why the f**k was Zarati let leave ? , i can see no other option now other than limp along till the end of the season and then get rid of Sam , maybe the life of a manger should only be two or three years at any club , with the exception of Fergie who else can say they've been a success, they players get lethargic and start to loose interest , new man at the top is the only answer

It's not a question of if anymore, but when does Allardyce go! Whether SUGO will put up with him much more is debatable? That's two shocking performances in recent weeks (WBA and today) and add to that all the draws we have had in recent weeks, you have to ask what is going wrong!
Knowing SUGO we are stuck with him until the end of the season and then the new man will come in (whoever he is). Let's hope they make the right choice!
I for one have written off the season now as far as European qualification goes and can just see us limping over the line with 51 or 52 points in or around 10th place.

A D Bonds

Two bad performances against lesser opposition Bondsy. But also two great performances against Man Utd and Spurs. Let's not forget that. And if we're honest hasn't that always been the West Ham way. Rise to the big games at times and take some scalps but also show ourselves up against the weaker sides too. Big Sam is no different to the rest in that aspect and before we go into the ins and outs of his tenure lets just look at today's team. Would you have honestly have picked a different one? Because I wouldn't and neither would most. I felt there was an air of complacency and over confidence today. We also lacked any real organisation, especially at set pieces which is very unsamlike. Sam seems to be losing more supporters with our recent plateau in form and I think Gold and Sullivan will certainly be pursuing other options for the summer. However, are we not at our ceiling limit right now and I just wonder who there is out there who would take us to the next level up?!?

He knows he is going at the end of the season and so do the players.
Personally I think Sam Allardyce has deflated a decent squad not killed it but taken the life and soul out of it.
I cannot believe that many of us have settled for average just in the name of staying in the prem personally I would rather be a Championship side for a season or two just to get the horrid stink of a mid table non performing joke of a Cup team that we have become out of our system.

I don`t post on here very often but when I read that someone wants us to be relegated it makes me really angry.
The consequences of not being in the top flight & all the money it brings in would be financially crippling, IE: low income = low quality players = a downwards spiral.
I for one absolutely HATED being in the championship, The thought of the team I`ve supported & worshipped for nearly 50 years as not being good enough for the top level of English football was gut wrenching beyond words & I don`t want us to go there again....ever.
The owners ploughed £millions of personal funds into the club which probably saved us from going bankrupt & certainly had a huge impact on the quality of players at the club both then & now but it won`t happen again.
Their motives for this have been discussed many times and I`m not going into that side of it here but we would have a very different team without that level of backing.
A relegation to re-group sounds like the battle plan of a soon to be defeated army, my beloved West Ham are certainly nowhere near that level. I want to move onwards & upwards not downwards.
We got rid of quite a lot of dross last year & without the funds from being in the prem we would certainly not have been in a position to replace any of them with better quality. Relegation struggles year after year are not exciting to me, they are downright bloody depressing & I would settle for mid table win-some-lose-some any day of the week over the sheer embarrassment, sadness & anger of being relegated.
Please don`t take this as a personal attack Turk, it`s just something I feel so strongly about that I felt I had to stick my tuppence worth in.

Yes players are to blame too they have to be professional, but I see a bunch of players who look almost depressed do not know what they are doing and are disolutioned by what they are being asked to do.

Will not be here next season , the players know more than what we do . There just going thur the motions until the end of the season. They know we are not going down we are not going to get into European cups so season over for most of them.

Not be here next season what power does he have over them , as in any place of work if you knew your boss was going, would you take much notice of him NO. But that is just one piece of the problem down there at the moment.

A poor showing from the team with deficiencies in skill, motivation, tactics, defending and movement. Another lacklustre performance except for the last period. I just don't know why we weren't up for this game and feel sorry for the fans. Cannot blame Allardyce much except maybe for some tactical deployment. The players have to show desire and the passion wasn't great today with some abject showings in particular Song and Downing. Tomkins and Cresswell not great either. Defensively we were naive and ball watched. Hugely disappointing.

The mangers job is to get the players up for ever game. How many games can you say that we have looked any good in the last few months.

First 70 odd minutes v Spuds and the last 2o odd v Palace. Put them both together and we'd have smashed spuds and lost 8 - 0 to palace...No consistency, no leadership from the bench and no decent subs on said bench to change a game...

That did so well before Christmas. Sadly, Sam ruined it by making room for Carroll and Nolan. Why change a winning formula ? The Zarate decision was just baffling ! The board have to take some responsibility as well. This is the second year running that the January transfer window has been a complete embarrassment. Yes the players too. Allardyce has to go sooner rather than later.

Completely agree re Carroll, I think the return of him coincided with the beginning of our poor form and why wouldn't it, we had 2 attackers that were on form, scoring goals and giving everything for the cause, the return of Carroll saw the return of the long ball to him, the midfield saw less of the ball along with Sakho and Valencia having to adjust their game to suit, we've now lost all of our rhythm

metbobby1 .. Your spot on .. I knew Allardyce would not resist putting Carroll and Nolan back in the team .. "imo" When Carroll the Camel is in the team the whole Balance is lost .. The Sakho and Valencia partnership was Brilliant up till that point plenty of Pace etc .. Albeit we would have eventually have lost Sakho due to the African Cup/Injury etc .. I was also annoyed to see Zarate farmed out to QPR but then that's Allardyce and potential Flair Players .. I think Cart Horses are generally more of his preferred speciality player wise !

They gave 100%, defended deep and pressured our midfield on the ball. They made chances and took them on a day that a crap side beat a better side that simply didn't turn up in any department. I left after the 3rd goal went in and went to have a pint with me mum, a better experience in my book!

Its hard to know what to think, this season started so well some new players attractive attacking football. Sakho and Song were the talk of the country, we were reaching fourth and fifth places. European and dare I say it Champions League were being talked about. Then since before Christmas things began to change, was it the return of C& N. In fairness Carroll did start well scored a few goals and looked like he wanted to do his bit for the Club who had kept faith in him. Nolan I think was beginning to wane a bit last season and things haven't improved this season. He was good for the Club and did score some vital goals when they were hard to be got. I thought we were playing well enough for a top 6 finish and today I wonder is it a Manager that has lost his influence on the team or is it just a bad patch in the season. Every team goes through it, Southampton and Everton and even Liverpool who had a bad start have improved. Forget the next two games, it's after that if there is not a marked improvement well then it could be what I said about the Managers influence could be a factor. We are safe and in ninth position, I think that will have to be maintained or improved for Sam to be around next season. Some might think that is harsh on Sam considering where he brought us from but I think the football is in this group of players to finish higher. Sams future could depend on whether he can get that from them for the rest of the season.

Didn't see the game, but it sounded pretty bad for 70 mins. Hard to understand why so bad... I do worry we sometimes don't get as motivated as we need to for "smaller" sides. That must change. We also need freshening up, bring in Poyet, give the lad a chance.

And who's to say that as we progress and buy better players and if he doesn't keep the required level he won't be sold to a team in the lower reaches. Nothing written as far as I'm aware he stays regardless of how long his contract lasts

Inclined to agree with you La Vida Hammer, he has West Ham blood running through his veins but whether he has ( providing we stay there) Premiership level of play for the next five years, I'm not so sure.

I like Noble and being a home grown lad is great for the ethos of the club. My fear is that the slow midfield we possess will not let us progress. I would not seek to buy Song as his work rate and attitude is not good enough. Love Kouyate but we need someone else with pace and flair. Downing's game has deteriorated and am not sure where he is playing half the time. When you see someone like Cazorla and Aguero with quick feet it is such a joy to watch. We haven't got any one like that and I know these players cost big bucks but we should be looking around for someone of that ilk to create moves. We are so predictable and slow. No oomph although Valencia has potential.

personally i feel you wont see the sak & val full potential till next year what with all the disruption over the ACN and then Nolan & Carroll coming back , like any partnership they need time to gel

burkie .. Good post I totally agree .. Personally I can't wait to see the back of Carroll and Nolan both are way too Slow for my liking and at the end of the day Carroll-Dyer is a public liability anyway Injury wise .. Oh and of course Allardyce needs to go .. In the meantime we live in hope !
