1. Ludo - So good we still sing about him!
2. Stuart - Penalty king and steady, a great coach to the Junior Hammers in the 80's
3. Dicks - Tough as old boots and always gave 100%
4. Bonds - Commitment could not be questioned and 'he's 6'2" eyes are blue'
5. Martin - A great centre half that commanded the position and gave his all
6. Moore - Legend
7. Payet - Seen enough already to know he will be a Legend, seriously a class act.
8. McAvennie - Great memories of the mid 80's and great combination with Cottee
9. Cottee - A born goal scorer and one of our own
10. Brooking - What a player and a gentleman
11. Devonshire - Naturally gifted footballer and so great to watch with the ball stuck to his feet

12. Di Canio - Difficult not to put him in the starting eleven as he scored some of the best goals I have ever seen and we all loved him
13. Tevez - Class act and such a shame he left but we should be thankful for the short memories
14. Ferdinand - The best youth player I ever saw at 15/16 and his career proves that fact
15. Parker - One of the best attitudes I have ever seen as he didn't stop battling even those around him were nowhere to be seen
16. Etherington - Love to watch wingers beating full backs and delivering good balls in the box, this guy was a class act and great to watch for me.

I'm sure some of my choices will be questioned but there you go, so what's your choices and why?

1 parkes the best keeper to ever play for us, travesty he didn't get a quite a few England caps 2 Ray Stewart. I agree with you, 3 dicks, seemed to be right In Amongst everything. Was a class above every other left back we ever had ditto for parkes 4 could run all day and was the real enforcer.5 Rio think you know why. 6 Moore, say no more! 7 Payet 8 pop robson scored for fun 9 dean Ashton would have been the best England striker if it wasn't for Wright Philips . 10 sir Trev, proved it all at international lvl. 11 Devonshire great dribbling skills

i would have frank lampard senior in the back 4 brian dear in mid field and david cross up front .agree with all of your choices's which just goes to prove our depth and quality not just in players but also supporters c.o.y.i

Frank lampard snr & david cross were unsung heroes in the 70s...brian dear a bit before my time!

I was tempted with David cross liked his style but pop was prolific for us. Frank senior would have got my vote but for dicks. As for Brian dear well I have no idea? What about worst 11 ? Spoilt for choice. Cross made Carroll look like a pussy who has never played football before.

1. Parkes. The only truly great 'keeper I've seen play for us
2. Lampard Senior. Right footed and could've played either side. A better all round player than Ray Stewart and edges John Bond out.
3. Dicks. If he could have got his head right would've won stacks of caps and been one of the best all round players this Country has seen.
4. Bonds. Mr. Consistency, A versatile 100% player who you'd want on your side always.
5. Martin. A naturally talented, ball playing Centre Half who would have been England's regular Centre Half if it hadn't been for an injury just prior to Spain '82.
6. Moore. The best defender the World has seen.
7. Peters. Never saw him have bad game. Versatile, consistent, talent to burn and 100 goals from midfield. Would command a massive fee in the modern era.
8. "Pop" Robson. A true goalscorer. The man could get a goal out of nothing and it's unbelievable that he wasn't capped.
9. Hurst. A truly great Centre Forward. There was far more to him than the '66 hat trick. credited as the first "Target man"
10. Brooking. A player who's talents were rare. Naturally 2 footed, the best passer or crosser of the ball I've seen anywhere and few have been more comfortable on the ball.
11. Devonshire. Quick, skilful, his combination with Brooking could open up any defence. Career ruined by a tragic injury when he was at his peak.
12. Cottee. Consistent performer, natural goalscorer and a clever skilful player.
13. Berkovic. A terrifically talented player. To me, during his time with us, he was as good a midfield player as any in the Country.
14. Green. A better 'keeper than Miklosko & Hislop. But Adrian is breathing down his neck at the moment.
15. Potts. The term "Unsung hero" could have been invented for him. The lynch pin of our defence through the 90's.
16. Bilic. A genuinely class defender who would have edged Martin out of my starting XI if he'd stayed longer.

That's my team for what it's worth folks.

I just have to get McAvennie and Di Canio in there somewhere....generational thing though isn't it?

Couldn't find a place for either I'm afraid and have to say that Budgie Byrne, Rio Ferdinand & Lampard Jnr. would be ahead of both of them in my book.

A good team, though I might be inclined to put Rio in there instead of Pottsie, & Di CANIO instead of Cottee.

Fair comment, but Potts gets the nod due to his near 20 year first team career and Green was in my view every bit as good as Adrian over the distance. But like I say, I woudn't bet against Adrian surpassing him.

I'm surprised by your inclusion of Green there... I liked him, solid shot stopper but any lofted ball into the box used to cause him nightmares! I think Adrian is definitely a better keeper

I cant argue with any of that...id add mcavennie to the list, his partnership with T.C was prolific..

First time round McAvennie was excellent but I wish he hadn't come back from Celtic as it ruins my memories second time round he really struggled so that's why I have others above him.

the first time around was AMAZING. I stood in the North Bank that entire season watching Cottee + McAvennie...legends!...gutted when Chelsea got that dubious penalty at Upton Park and Everton stole the title!!
