As this is the day the transfer window 'slams shut', we thought we would join in the spirit of things with a countdown clock, unfortunately, or fortunately depending on your view point
West Ham United's name will most definitely NOT be featured among the movers and shaker headlines, this is what happens when your club has been named and shamed as perrenial 'low ballers' in the transfer market.

One by one little records are being broken by a West Ham side that has been rejeuvinated by a rejeuvinated David Moyes. The Hammers manager looks like an entirely different person now from the cadava like image of 'ghostliness' that first turned up at the London Stadium, the 57 year old Scot has the air about him of someone who knows exactly what he is trying to achieve and precisely where he is trying to take his players.

As we approach the beginning of the 'window that never was' for West Ham United, it is common knowledge regarding the lack of funds available, the club is currently borrowing large amounts of money just to survive during the Covid-19/20/21 Pandemic! So when rumours regarding an ex-tottenham and an ex-arsenal, now Chelsea, player began to circulate they were greeted with a fair amount of scepticism.

Hammers' wing back Authur Masuaku's now deleted instagram message, detailing how he had just had corrective surgery on his knee that had caused him to be in acute pain for the last TWO years, was as a result of 'miscommunication'. When David Moyes did his Press conference ahead of tonight's eagerly anticipated clash with Leeds United at Elland Road, he made no mention at all regarding Masuaku's operation, which has left many observers baffled.

The Irons might have made a solid start to the Barclays Premier League season, but only a fool would say there isn't a need to look at defensive reinforcement in the January transfer window. With the opening of that less than a month away, we look at the names in the frame.

Perhaps we at the Org are getting old, but when Jack 'I can drive my Range Rooney Up Other People's exhausts' Grealish did a 'Salaesque' pirouette almost half a second after having been tackled in order to 'earn' his team a free kick from which they eventually scored, opinions about Villa's star man varied from preening ballerina to a lot worse.

Although Hammers squad is still 'sketchy' in some areas, in others there are an abundance of players, particularly wing players. Blessed with the services available of Authur Masuaku, Jarrod Bowen, Pablo Fornals, Manu Lanzini and new signing Said Benrahma, David Moyes is spoiled for choice, he can also call upon the services of Nathan Holland who has recently returned to full fitness from a serious hamstring injury sustained whist out on loan last season.

Deadline day, or Deadly day? As the clock counts down Hammers fans will be hoping that there will not be any major outgoings from the club, particualrly that of Declan Rice. Unless the co-owners intend leaving the country permanently there is no way they will sanction the sale of the club's prized asset with just a few hours to go.

“We’re lacking in defensive cover. We’re also looking to see who could move on, because that could change the direction we take during the transfer window. The owners have spent a lot of money in the last few years and I’m not sure a similar amount will be available this time."
