The Emporer's New Clothes!

Conspiracy theories abound at this moment in time regarding the club's descent into the Championship, why would the Board want it? Their share values will go down like a lead balloon following relegation, so why on Earth are they seemingly just watching on as their prized asset's value crashes?

Kretinsky is NOT a club owner in the Gold & Sullivan vein, he is a canny investor who never over stretches himself and one who is content to just make ' money without headlines'. His numerous acquisitions are ALL shrewd long term investments that are designed to stand the test of time while growing in value.

David Sullivan is a different kettle of fish, he made his cash the hard way along with his partner in business David Gold, they had to 'negotiate' with the extremely corrupt Police force of the time and were superb at being one step ahead of the draconian laws that the obscene publications squad were 'pretending' to enforce.

Their premises were raided SO regularly that all the staff knew the set procedures they had to take which invariably involved a phone call and a brown paper bag! So dealing with a stubborn Dinosaur of a manger should be no problem at all, right? Well on the face of things at the moment, NO!

David Sullivan seems to have lost interest in the club and appears to want to jump ship WITHOUT investing any more money, Kretinsky can let sleeping dogs lie and the Gold family are in the position whereby they will reep a decent reward for David Gold's shares. All that guff about the son in law being a life long Hammers fan is irrelevant, put a massive cheque in front of the family and they will snap your arm off!

"Loyalty is pure, not tainted by the lure of things that might be gained" is a naive viewpoint, of course the Gold family will say that them selling their shares will help the club move forward, it will. It will also represent the end of an era when 'elite' English clubs were owned by people from these shores, 'sportswashing' is so common place it is amazing that there are any British owners left!

We believe essentially that Sullivan has had enough, that is not to say that he won't retain SOME shares, his sons David Jnr and Jack will still maintain a 'family' presence, but the old man will be off. There are worse Chairmen around, the trouble is Hammers fans have got so used to disliking Sullivan that they are in danger of not seeing the forest for the trees, now who else does that?

Rumour has it that David Attenborough is going to do this week's presser with the Moyesosaurus to help explain his tactics!- Ed

What Do Headless Dinosaur's Do?

Submitted by Louis Nixon on Mon, 13/03/2023 - 10:17

"Everyone ran and was committed throughout the game. They deserve a lot of praise, the players, for what they’ve done, they’ve been away and they’ve got something out of today’s game. Just a bit more quality at the death might have just got us something more.”

What game were you watching David Moyes? You do NOT judge an 'elite' professional football team by how much they run otherwise you would have a team full of Olympic sprinters and runners. It is NOT how much players run or how fast they can run, Ryan Fredericks being a case in point, it is what they actually do on the pitch regardless of how far or how fast they run!

Headless chickens uninspired by a headless Dinosaur's antiquated and archaic intransigent attitude was what was on show during Sunday's 'clash' against a visiting bunch of time-wasting cheats that now represent what was a superb football club steeped in tradition. The symmetry that both sets of fans were wearing Claret & Blue just added to the surrealism that this was actually a top flight Premier League game, beamed across the World for 'entertainment'!

Come back Alan Irvine, Please!

The wheels began to come of the Iron's bandwagon when Alan Irvine stepped down from his coaching role, the collateral damage was further exasperated by the exit of Stuart Pearce and the 'loaning out' of Hammers free kick and corner specialist Paul Nevin so that he could pass on ALL his knowledge to players from other teams while they were on England duty, it beggars belief!

On yesterday's showing the club is doomed with Dino Moyes at the helm, sadly it is probably also doomed even if the board had decided to puul the plug on Moyes' tenure after the shambles on show. Gianluca Scamacca and ALL the other expensive summer acquisitions must be eyeing the exit door as this painful season draws to a close.

Even if the club DO survive in the top flight, the damage to the morale of players and supporters alike will take a long time to heal, if at all. Moyes has essentially messed up big time, but is SO STUBBORN that he either (a) is blind to what is going on around him or (b) has become impervious to the reality of what he is supposed to be doing, namely putting a 'contented' hard working team out to face the opposition. NOT a team of players who are so knackered that they are pedestrian come match days.

Take a break Dino, invent a Covid contamination for yourself and let ANYONE, including Doris the Tea Lady take over for a few games and see just how the players respond. A Jurrasic box jury would tell you straight, except you wouldn't hear because you will NOT listen! - LN

'Dino' Loses The Plot!

Picture it now, your team are at home to the League's biggest time wasters and worst 'simulators'. Despite you, your team is still in with a shout for three incredibly valuable points in their desperate scrap against relegation. 60,000 fans are cheering your team on for the closing stages of the game which is finely balanced, the match officials, particularly the linesman on the opposite flank to the dug outs are blind to the 'Villains' perpetual play acting and time wasting, but nevertheless there is is still a good chance of getting a result, so what do you do?

Even the most amateur of armchair pundits knew that this was an ideal opportunity for Dino to bring on his newly acquired £35 Million striker Gianluca Scamacca, the game AND THE CROWD WERE 'BEGGING FOR IT', however Moyes elected to bring on Maxwell Cornet INSTEAD of Scamacca! Moyes and Scamacca exchanged 'words' as Cornet, NOT Scamacca, took to the field. You don't need to be an Italian linguist to have a pretty good idea of what "Ba fungal!" means, Google it if you need!

Suffice to say Dino Moyes is well on course to destroying the young Italian striker who is so highly valued that it caused a public outcry when he was 'whisked off' to London during the summer. Why are we allowing one of our brightest prospects the chance of playing in England when he should be here in Italy entertaining us and developing as a player in our Domestic League they asked?

Well don't worry Italian fans, Gianluca will be back with you quicker than a Venetian Gondolier can fleece you of all your travel money! The look he gave Dino was one of anger and incredulity, the crowd thought exactly the same. The term stubborn bastard sprang to many people's minds, Moyes has reached a point of no return where his obstinacy and stubbornness might well relegate the club.

Too good to go down? Too bad to stay up might be the answer, under Moyes' 'guidance' the club is gone! Only an instant dismissal will alter the car crash that Hammers have become, even then it might be too late, God help us! - Ed

Scams not the man

If anyone wanted proof that Moyes does not see Scamacca as part of the West Ham team only has to look at the last two games.....playing a cypriot side that would struggle in the national league a chance for Scamm to get some minutes in but nope Antonio played he scored twice came off injured so Scam got a few minutes...fast forward to today against Villa Ings not involved in the game Antonio not available because of injury Moyes can't take Benni off he knows that as much as he'd like to so low and behold Ings off and Cornet on a man coming back from the longest calf injury in history who has played as attacking Wingback or winger well not today today he was put in upfront and with Scamacca on the bench and seemingly stuck there you now no Moyes wants shot of the player and if the tea ladies fit she will get on against the cypriots ahead of Scam.....Criminal Moyes IMO....if you have had a spat with the man grow up stop sulking and give him a chance but no another unpolished gem Moyes treats like a turd will be gone........His man management skills are no existent

Which Villain Will Prevail?

nevillenixon's picture
Submitted by nevillenixon on Sun, 12/03/2023 - 10:11

"Ooh you are awful, but I like you" was a catch phrase of the late great comedian Dick Emery, his totally politically incorrect 'camp fire' character would utter such an expression just before aggressively pushing away or slapping the reporter asking him questions regarding his 'camp' stance and it's inferred standpoint. Many referenced the expression when Unai Emery chose to manage Arsenal instead of West Ham and were amused by the brevity of his tenure.

Fast forward to the present day and who's laughing now? Today's visitors to Stratford ditched their up and coming new manager Steven Gerrard or 'slippy' as many fans called him in preference of Emery, who has overseen an upturn in the club's fortunes that now sees them comfortably safe from the fight to the finish Premier League relegation scrap that is approaching it's climax fervently.

It is often said that an elite manger is a 'dead man walking' if he loses the dressing room, but a few good results can allay that issue, what cannot be altered is if the manager loses the fans, especially the away supporters who travel far and wide to support their team through thick and thin! Well of late, with the exception of the 'Con Cup', the results have been a lot more thin than thick.

David Moyes 'fronting up' the away fans at Brighton was probably the worst act he has 'commited' since becoming Hammers manager for the 2nd time, something he will live to regret and a bridge burned that cannot be recrossed. What the 58 year old Scot was thinking that afternoon is beyond comprehension, talk about biting the hand that feedeth! Hammers travelling support is recognised as one of the best, if not the best in the Premier League, so to 'attack' them was a ludicrously ill advised act that essentially drew the line under his tenure.

Make no mistake, Moyes' stance was a seminal moment for the club and it's fanbase, if the hierarchy needed an excuse to 'bounce the Dinosaur', he provided it with gusto, or Irn Bru if you like. Either way he is on a limited timer that WILL expire, sooner or later, his actions have merely accelerated the inevitable. Who will be the villain of the piece today? "you are awful" or "how awful you are?". - Ed

AEK Larnaca 0 - 2 West Ham

Hammers took a big step towards the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League Cup with an 'easy peasey' first-leg victory at AEK Larnaca.

The Home team caused some early problems but West Ham grew in confidence and started to resemble a team that had topped their group and were unbeaten in the competition. It was a question of when, not if, Hammers were going to score. An unmarked Antonio expertly headed Said Benrahma's superb left-wing delivery into the right corner on the 36th minute to open the scoring.

With the side that is struggling in the Premier League side searching for a second, Pablo Fornals drove wide of the left post moments before Antonio doubled the lead on the stroke of half time when he collected a pass on the edge of the area and expertly curled his effort around his marker into the top-right corner.

The side have now won all nine of their matches in the competition this term and they deserved the victory, with Antonio almost adding a third after the break when he drove a low effort which ricocheted against the right-hand post.

David Moyes had the 'luxury' of taking off Declan Rice and others ahead of the Villa game, with the added bonus of an appearance from Cornet who only played for a brief while but managed to create a golden opportunity for Pacqueta who had chimself ome on for the closing minutes.

Incidentally, what is it with West Ham and corners this season? A further 14 conceded tonight, but at no cost!

All in all a great performance against albeit 'lesser opposition', not quite job one, but a good lead to take home.

Speaking of leads, Gianluca Scamacca looked and played like a big Labrador that had just been let of its lead, he hustled and bustled but generally just ran into the opposition conceding needless free kicks. The young Italian desperately needs more game in order to return to being the bright eyed smiling character he was when he first arrived at the club, hopefully he will get back to what he was, one of Italy's hotest young prospects!

Success breeds success, perhaps the win will remind the team that they are actually decent players, DESPITE WHAT THEY ARE SOMETIMES TOLD! - Ed

No Excuses..Bare Bones Baloney!

Submitted by nevillenixon on Thu, 09/03/2023 - 09:10

West Ham United's foray in the third tier of European Cup Football continues this evening with the first leg of the fixtures against AEK Larnaca in Cyprus. Although potential Hammers manager Jose Mourinho celebrated like there was no tomorrow when Roma won the ill conceived trophy last year, the truth is that it is a 'Micky Mouse 'Cup that was 'invented' solely as a revenue earner and has little real meaning in the great scheme of things.

Still a trophy is a trophy some might say, but at what cost? Sucking the life out of a whole generation of promising youth players or destroying the confidence of newly signed players is hardly the way forward is it? Yet that is exactly what is happeneing at the club under the current guidance of David Moyes.

Lured by the vague possibility of 'SilverWare' the club's hierarchy seem to have adopted a 'magpiesque' attitude that can only be satiated by something sparking, irrespective of it's true value! How long can Moyes dine out on the brief period of success that he attained following his 2nd coming?

Credit where it is due, Moyes took over when things looked bleak, saved the club from relegation and was then promptly dropped in favour of 'fancy pants' Manuel Pellegrini who took over and nearly took the club down in the process. Moyes returned and things looked to be moving forward on an upward trajectory, then the wheels started to fall off the Moyes bandwagon.

Moyes' intransigent attitude meant that the team were unable to build on their initial inertia and were soon being found out by opposition coaches and managers who began to realise what a 'one trick pony' Moyes actually was as a manager, as a consequence results started to falter before a continuous and inexorable decline began which has been impossible to halt, despite a relatively large investment in the squad, actually a MASSIVE investment in the squad compared to the past.

Moyes is GOOD at making square pegs fit round holes, but give him the 'right' combination and he falls short. Why is that? Quite simply he doesn't garner the respect he should receive from top players because he doesn't earn it! Bad mouthing players regarding their attitude is NOT the way forward, players like Said Benrahma who are naturally gifted don't respond well to someone who was a bang average defender in uncompetitive leagues handing down 'god like' advice.

Destroying players' confidence with his 'my way or the highway' approach WILL EVENTUALLY DESTROY team morale if it hasn't done already, nothing short of a managerial rebuild is required to bring the club back to the mythical 'West Ham Way', a style of football that may NOT get trophies but sent fans home happy after games with hope for the future.

The turgid 'product' on offer for fans is barely palpable and is so different from what fans have grown to expect over generations. David Moyes WAS a good fixer, but his repair job is over now and it is time to bring in a 'foundations' expert who is used to dealing with 'modern issuse', NOT someone who is stuck in the dark ages!

We don't profess to know all the answers, but we can see the obvious that is right in front of our eyes! We fully expect the team to do well in Cyprus, they won't have a critical crowd on their back, just like during Covid. The possible answer?...keep Moyes and play behind closed doors! - Ed
