  • West Ham would you watch them?

    As a supporter of our club the answer is yes but in all my days i have to say these last year since January we are not an easy watch.
    The free flowing attacking football we started with last season has gone it is like an exorcism has been performed on the team and it has been driven out and replaced by a hollow shell of a side lacking any real enthusiasm for the game.
    Whilst in all my years watching West Ham i am not about to claim we are world beaters but we have always been entertainers and yes it has not won us much playing that way but i would rather that than what of late has been served up.
    I despair at the constant passing across the back line which is so slow i think i could play there! the lack of any movement in the middle of the park and lack of creativity is really alarming as we have always had players who can knock a ball around and create things but currently it would seem not.
    The tactics of our manager to not lose a game also means we do not try to win even when playing at home that my friends for me is the wrong attitude to take and because of it we really are not easy on the eye and whilst its not a real concern other supporters just switch off and would rather watch paint dry than a West Ham game it is to me.
    I love my football and enjoy watching others when our team is not playing but lately a lot of my pals who not being a fan of our club would rather play dominos or whist when we are on.
    So Mr Moyes please do something to make us exciting to watch again maybe play Antonio wide right Scamacca through the middle and maybe our gem of a player bowen dovetailing behind that would be exciting and something different to see.

    Is there not a conflict of interests with the Kretin?

    Know its not a reference to only fools and horses but to what happened at the Weekend when Graham Souness commenting on the chelski spuds match said it was a throwback a real "mans" game and how he got Lambasted by all the feminists for calling it that as its outdated and non inclusive as womens sport just as good.Oh shut up will you for goodness sake he was not saying that and yes the womens euros was brilliant but to say it is as good be realistic Women cannot ever hope to compete physically with men in professional sport men are bigger men are stronger men are faster it is a simple biological fact but a lot of women today do not like to hear that well as a Woman of the world let me just say if i had a choice to either watch women play or men i choose the men and not for the shorts reason lol no it is just simply men are better at it than women and for those ladies who still think otherwise show them this boys.

    Should put an end to the argument and for those of you who are shall we say of a mature age i think you will enjoy the men v women game it is on point!

    So come on girls lets enjoy our sports and marvel at our achievments but please do not ever think we can physically compete with men because we cannot.

  • Marketing and that horrid third strip

    Orange you have all seen it our third strip is white with an Orange flare across the shirt apparently the reason for that is to pay homage to the Thames Ironworks and the orange sparks that were created during there arduous work.
    Marketing people have to make stuff up like that to try and sell a pig of an item.ORANGE really Orange i know i am younger than a lot on here but can anyone tell me when did We ever have a shirt that was Orange home or away?When i purchase something West Ham related to wear it is with the traditional colours and no Burkie i am not answering the thought that just came to your mind there lol.Seriously though unless the club is now being sponsored by Terrys where the hell do we get that colour from.

    Are The Irons Becoming Chelsea's 'Sell To' Club?

    West Ham seem to have developed a 'close' bond with Chelsea FC in recent times, The West Londoners obviously becoming increasingly at ease with their Iron's dealings as it has become blatantly obvious to them that their East London neighbours represent little if any threat to their Premier League aspirations.

    That said they will still be mindful of Hammers notoriety as title challenge wreckers, ask Liverpool had they not lost at Stratford the Premier League title would have been theirs. Irrespective of the possibility of a one off banana skin fixture against David Moyes' side, new Chelsea owner Todd Boehlyhas authorised 'direct trading' for certain players between the clubs, he is perhaps playing the long game mindful of a future deal for Declan Rice.

    Todd Boehly may have opened up the channels but he is a very successful businessman and NOT a philanthropist so he drives a hard bargain, consequently a loan deal for left back Emerson Palmieri from French outfit OGC Nice was rejected out of hand with only a firm permanent deal on offer.

    West Ham had made a similar approach to Chelsea to sign the Italian international, however Todd Boehly again made it clear he only wants to sell Emerson on permanent deal, no loan. A fee of around £12-15 Million is being mooted which represents fair value for the 28 year old who would be an upgrade, in not stern competition for the long serving Aaron Cresswell.

    Acquiring an additional left back WAS all part of the plan, so unless Chelsea decide to start playing silly buggers a deal can be concluded ahead of this weekend's premier league fixture against Brighton, Hammers nemesis! As to the centre back 'issue', there are several irons in the fire, pun intended, as we discussed yesterday, ANY decent centre back will be wary of joining the club if they feel David Moyes will just revert to his regulars and new signing Aguerd once they are all fit?

    There will be some movement, but this time it will probably have to be a permanent deal because yet again the problem is how many clubs want to send their player out on loan if they are only going to play a few games? Fortunately there is the obvious answer, TO SAVE MONEY!

    There are many many clubs out there, particularly in France where everyone is broke apart from PSG because of the TV deal problems, and secondly in Spain where epic overspending has landed clubs with no other option than to loan out their players at a great loss just to cut their deficits, they are a salient lesson in being careful what you wish for when it comes to new signings.

    Quality rather than quantity was the initial order of the day when the window opened, it will take brave men at the helm to steer the club through the remaining choppy waters, but that's what they get paid for, by the fans! - Ed

    Emerson really? my Chelski mates are wetting themselves over us willing to pay money for this player.....they say to call him bang average would be bigging him up...then this Hans Vanaken guy from Club Brugge nope never heard of him took two secinds to work out why Moyes wants this player yup he's 6ft 4 tall so theres another one for the set piece.....he does love the big guys our manager....so players not on our radar never mentioned or rumoured and suddenly they appear funny that.

  • Left Right Back In A Centre Back Conundrum

    When David Moyes returned as West Ham manager for the 2nd time he must have been all too aware of the legendary Hammers new signing injury curse, so as a person known for carrying out his due diligence to 'crime scene investigation' levels it should have come as no surprise when his marquee signing Nayef Aguerd promptly got injured in his first game for the club.

    Moyes and head of recruitment Rob Newman were possibly in denial regarding the 'Hammers curse', well they are aware of it now in a big way as their centre back options are disappearing faster than a Millennium Falcon being pursued by a death star!

    Fans are angry that Issa Diop effectively 'downed tools' in order to force a move through to Fulham, but it should be remembered that Diop was firmly on the for sale list until Nayef Aguerd's unfortunate injury, furthermore Diop was constantly 'dissed' with regards to being selected for the first team, only being called upon in emergencies. When Diop did actually get to play he performed as admirably AS ANY PLAYER WHO RARELY GETS ANY PLANNED GAME TIME!

    So why would Diop want to stay at the club knowing full well that his starting position in the pecking order would drop like a stone once Aguerd, Dawson and Ogbonna return from their respective injuries? Please don't bang the loyalty drum regarding Diop, he could have handled the situation more diplomatically but at the end of the day moving to Fulham was the right move for HIM, loyalty to one club being a trait of a 'Noble' past.

    Those who have been bemoaning how the club haven't brought in a new additional centre back are forgetting that who ever signs will be aware of 'Moyes's Boys syndrome' and would probably seek assurances regarding game time ahead of ANY move other than that of a short term loan.

    The club are currently linked with a plethora of centre backs, the most intriguing of which is Marseille's Croatian centre back Duje Ćaleta-Car. Ironically had Nikola Vlasic remained at the club it might have aided the recruitment of Ćaleta-Car, it remains to be seen if Vlasic's feed back from his time at the club was positive or negative, however most feel it will be the latter of the two.

    Perhaps it is time for David Moyes to do a 'factory reset' regarding new players, after all he IS at a big club now, really! - Ed

    We live it every weekend same lineup same tactics same predictable substitutions lack of effort players look stale and not fit what the hell has happened to get to this?

    Moyes says we are not quite fit not ready well Mate thats your job to make sure they are you and your coaches have had the summer yet we look way off the pace why?

    Our players look uninspired and dejected and and i think all they see is a long drawn out slog by the same few players again week in week out.

    Recruitments a joke.....if i dont think a player will improve the squad then i wont buy....Great thinking Moyes whats the betting in the next week the panic buttons hit and suddenly players you dont reckon or rate start turning up.

    No balls no tactical no how to change how we play in game or out of....get a big man get a set piece and fingers crossed we may get a goal...no flair no flowing football the same sideways passing then back to the keeper for the love of God Moyes change something.

    I dont really care about Viborg on thursday i really dont...Moyes may be brave against the minnows and say look i can get the team to play expansive football pffff.

    Brighton home on sunday our nemesis who here thinks we will attack from the start and put them under pressure? anyone? mmm? HELLO anyone? naaa i thought not we all know Moyes will be cacking his panties and tell the players sit deep and counter SLOWLY because we have no pace....and oh yeah Scamacca and Cornet if not injured will be on the bench because they played in Europe on Thursday.

    This post like the heading is groundhog day...i see it you fellow orgers see it why the hell can Moyes not see it.... said it in the summer and nothing will convince me otherwise but we will be bottom half of table all season and that rests on one mans shoulders and you no what he doesn't seem that bothered.
