  • Retention But No Extension For Moyes

    With so many comings and goings within the Irons coaching staff it is easy for the waters to be muddied. Mark Warburton's departure has swiftly been followed by that of Paul Nevin who has also been 'moonlighting' with the full England set up as a dead ball specialist coach.

    Whilst it is relatively common to 'lose' one coach, to lose two is bordering on the reckless, especially bearing in mind Hammers players are just returning for pre-season training! What is clear is that there is an urgent need to bring in two additional coaches or to at least promote from within the club's staff, that would in itself leave two gaping holes that would need filling.

    The U-18's did really well last season, but is Kevin Keen the man to step up tp the 1st team and would he want to? Perhaps he would rather continue with the group of players he has coached to such success, now that wouldn't be an unreasonable stance would it?

    Irrespective of who is brought in, the Elephant in the room is in fact the Dinosaur! Winning Hammers first 'proper trophy' since 1980 has added to the murkiness of the water surrounding Manager David Moyes, rumours of discontent from within the club emerged during the 'turgid' run that almost saw the club relegated have again resurfaced and many assume that there is no smoke without fire.

    West Ham supremo David Sullivan has made a point of saying that sticking with Moyes WAS the right thing to do, and he WAS correct, however he hasn't mentioned anything regarding a contract extension for Moyes who still has one year left on his contract.

    Irrespective of winning a much coveted piece of silverware, the writing IS on the wall for Moyes, perhaps later rather than sooner but eventually he WILL be gone! David Moyes' Premier League win ratio over the last eighteen months is absolutely appalling, sixteen wins out of FIFTY FOUR games is pure relegation fodder. The Conference Cup victories hid the real truth of what was going on.

    There is a reason Declan Rice and others want out as well as the coaching staff!

    Further analysis of the Premier League stats shows an astonishing 28 losses out of the last 56 Premier League games, ONE In TWO! Atrocious, there will be more exits to come as Hammers are in danger of losing all their family jewels if Moyes is retained for even one week more than he has to be! Moyes wants retention, but please no extension!

    ANTKB pops on now & again,Essex hammer,Chippy dave,Bondsy...but what about the others I remember? Red Neck iron used to love putting a quiz up,Moore 6 legend ( Stan) his son posted some time ago,Fred 149,Harry the Hammers,Irons 65 I think he was from Swansea? Made me laugh used to wear his westham shirt in the valleys & good for you mate,ashes hammer etc & a few of the boys from down under

    Paul Nevin has left to pursue other opportunities so what is going on with our turnover of coaches? is it really all about Moyes and his refusal to listen to different opinions?

    “We are delighted to confirm that Angelo Ogbonna has signed a new one-year contract,” West Ham officially announced today. Many fans are delighted as well and so are his team mates with Kurt Zouma being the first to post “Uncle Ang’” in response to the news.

    Having joined from Juventus in 2015, The Og has gone on to make 232 appearances for the Irons and clearly loves the club, that 'love' is particularly reciprocated by fellow centre backs Nayef Aguerd and the aforementioned Zoooooooma!

    Zouma and Aguerd are the preferred centre back pairing for David Moyes, but given both players injury record it has to be assumed that Ogbonna is not just being given another contract for fun! Although lacking in pace now he still has a great calmness about him that can be essential as he is brought on as a substitute to see games out. He is also a massive influence in the dressing room and is a much needed voice since Mark Noble decided to hang up his boots.

    At 35 years of age, Ogbonna is no spring chicken, but he is the most experienced of the Centre Back trio and will no doubt play an important role next season, although obviously more as a substitute. The club's qualification for the Europa League means lots more Thursday Sunday games so the veteran will get more than a good run out as the season progresses.

    Everyone involved will be wishing Angelo good luck for the future both on and off the pitch. - LN

    Just realised its 75 years today!Bit emotional cos I had a few tests in hospital a few days ago...these,doctors,nurses,hco's,porters cleaners etc ( no particular order they are all amazing)treated me with the utmost care,respect & above all humour when you need it...laughter is the best medicine.I salut you

    Despite the trumpeting of Tim Steidtens Arrival and what he supposedly brings i cannot help but think did we not hear the same on Rob Newman and look how that has turned out.....Moyes is the Iceberg on which the clubs fortunes will be sunk and keeping this man on will prove to be the biggest mistake we make this summer.

    Our transfer business is meant to be driven by a four man cabal of Steidten Noble Sullivan and Moyes with the latter having the final say and veto on players he does not want.

    Sullivan may ignore that and press on with players he likes as he has done in the past and we all know how that ends Moyes simply wont play them as they are not one of his Noble will try to get Academy players on the bench instead of the infamous second GK and Steidten well how long will he stay around if whats been sold to him turns out not to be gold but a polished turd.

    I do believe the club are going to be suffering the same as we did last season and this time no trophy to end so have lessons been learned? i very much doubt it.

    Moyes 2.0 they say West Ham will be a different kettle of fish a new style of play blah blah blah heard that last season but it was the players fault not the manager not the coaches so lets see how different this year will be and for me i only see us struggling.....bit of a downer give it a chance Bike i hear you say but honestly no matter who we recruit playing wise nothing will change because of the Iceberg in front of us and the ensuing disaster when it hits.

  • Rice Announcement Imminent!

    West Ham United are scheduling a media slot for 2PM this afternoon (Monday July 3rd) during which the 'eternal' Declan Rice transfer to Arsenal will finally be confirmed. Reprsentatives from BOTH clubs have been feverishly working on an agreement that suits all those concerned.

    Hammers supremo David Sullivan is thought to have 'backed off' directly negotiating the deal himself, in order for his new employee Tim Steidten to complete the deal with Arsenal's technical director Edu. It is believed there has been a compromise reached over the payment plan for Declan Rice which roughly translates to 40% of the entire fee up front with the remainder being paid in instalments over the next three years.

    This 'arrangement' saves face for the Irons and the Gooners and means that the player can start training with his new team mates when he returns from a Holiday with his young family and Hammers can get on with spending some, if not all of the money received on transfers overseen by Steidten.

    Rice's departure was never going to be 'pretty', but at least a line can be drawn in the sand now, many fans are really disappointed with their club captain moving on, especially to London neighbours, but at least it wasn't to fierce rivals 'Tottingham'! - Ed

    Why is it allowed, to Buy Players like Kai Havertx and Timber when they are still keeping us waiting for our transfer fee of £105 million they are not messing with Chelsea or Ajax about, how come they can use this stalling tactic on us that could result in us missing out on Harvey Barnes, Alex Scott Etc. Think the FA should make clubs Finish their negotiations before they can bid for another player. Even supposed to have bid for Mbappe and Laporte this morning How about usig that money to pay us???, definitely think this is an unfair stalling tactic and should not be allowed by the F.A and to be honest I am surprised Sullivan has stood for this. We,ve all heard that this is all about FFP but how long are we Going to stand for this, if they want Rice then this should be settled, or pull the plug on the whole deal because i think they will mess us about as long as they can get away with it. and then WE will have 30 million in our hand and all the transfer targets gone

    But players come players go some good some bad some more susceptible to Romford Radiation than others but all that does not mean a thing because our club and all other football clubs are nothing without there fans as we are the only people who stay with your club through thick and thin from bad managers & owners to good all that matters are the fans football is nothing without us the billions generated would never be that without the fans so in all honesty with Rice going it means nothing as i like all of us will still be there next season cheering us on i certainly will not be watching the gooners to see how Rice gets on because they are not my club and Rice has decided we are not his club anymore i only have eyes for those that pull on the claret&blue(some more than others maybe lol)and set foot onto the pitch to get us dreaming again COYI
